India vs Pakistan | Match 22, World Cup | Manchester | June 16, 2019 | India innings

If a Pakistani batsman scores 140 against India in a World Cup, he will milk it for the rest of his life.

For a Rohit, it is just another idea and he was gutted because he could have done more.

Difference between rotten mentality and elite mentality.

We're already milking a 114 from the Champions Trophy

So it took him 6 overs of absolute slaughtering to realise bowling short ain’t going to work.

Physical fitness at full display here.

India's quickest two at the crease.

This!

Look at our prime minister he is even today cashing in 92 world cup win and can't stop being a cricket player and start being a statesman. If anyone scored 140 like Rohit did he will be awarded Tamgha-e-Imtiaz next year and will surely be a future captain if not the upcoming prime minister.

They have Prithivi Shaw and Shubman Gill in the ranks.

Indian (Aussi, Poms, SAF as well, previously WIN was in this list) top 3 will always be among best - that's batting culture. It's because -

1. They promote proper batsmen with good basics in top 3
2. Their top 3 plays at that spot (of national team) at domestics as well
3. Their top 3 has brilliant FC records as well - which indicates the first law of batting - value for own wicket and hunger for runs, conversion.
4. Their top 3 has fantastic conversion ratio - once set, it has to be a good ball or catch and unless it's essential, they don't gift wickets.
5. They are all-round players - bowl trash, it'll go for boundary and unless you put pressure with tight line-length-field placing, they'll keep maneuvering singles to keep score board moving without taking much risk.

Last PAK top 3 that had those qualities was Saeed, retired 16 years back (I Nazir could have been another one), and now Babar - in between from Shaid Afridi, A Razzak, K Akmal, YK to Mian Malik, MoHa, Shehzad, Fakhar, Imam ..... even Fawad Alam, Khurram Manzoor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What do you expect?

Batting at 1-2, MoYo could have retired with 15K ODI runs and 35+ hundreds, had he not been saved at 4-5 to win it Larke Lenge style - remember, that's batting culture. Last PAK No. 3 that played on his proper position retired 35 years back - batted at 3 for Gloster and batted at 3 for PAK - retired with 7 hundreds in 60 innings and 48/86 stats, playing in 70s & early 80s. That was also batting culture, managed for PCB by English Counties ............ after Counties, PCB made Ijaz Ahmed No. 3 ....... batting culture.

Before a big match like the India-Pakistan WC encounter, players tend to get nervous. Possibly this visit to Sheesha lounge is Pakistan players way of calming their nerves. Especially after hearing thier coach telling each of them that this match is their chance to become national heroes.

Under such circumstances it is natural to feel a big nervous. And if sheesha lounge is what makes them feel focuses and relaxed, so be it imho.

Are they looking focused today? They are all over the place seriously. I think that's totally unprofessional. There should always be discipline (remember when army trained them and they won a Lord's test? :D ). Yes, if they were doing better then once or twice is fine but we even lost to Afghanistan, that's shameful.

Can't believe it's been 41 overs already.

Other matches feel so long once they reach 41 overs.

Brilliant over rate by Sarfaraz!

It all starts from mentality looking from the interviews given from both sides pak just don't have it

Indian commentator keeps applauding Pakistan for their excellent over rate.

Congratulations Pakistan on this worthy achievement.

We went through a period where we had a decent fielding team. Not sure what's happens

As for kholi, and 50 against Pak incoming

Useless commentary on air. It’s a somewhat decent over from Hasan with a fuller and the commentators are busy doing India navel gazing.
It’s not about balance of praise, but there’s other stuff on air

Pakistan are unpredictable when you think they are out they produce next level performance. So game on hai ...

If it goes over 350 then that's a different story.

Pakistan used to be unpredictable back in 1990's welcome to present day they will get out for 240 if someone actually try to win the match.

Very knowledgeable post.

I completely agree, there is no hope for Pakistan anymore.

He acts as if he is the only captain in history to win a World Cup. I don’t see Kapil, Dhoni, Clarke or others giving cornered tigers speeches. It all comes to down to our rotten mentality. Players, ex-players, fans, analysts etc. everyone is infected.

My god I’ve seen some c**p teams, Canada Nepal Bangladesh of the 80s.

This pak team is plain dam awful (that’s being kind)

Pak bowling well. Amir got 4 overs left. Will be a good contest in the next 8 overs

Michael Clarke is a very annoying commentator. Talks TOO MUCH. Take a breath man.

Sharma was looking so good for a double ton.

8wickets in hand. This could get ugly for Pakistan!

8 overs - 340 possible? I have to say from that start, PAK actually has pulled back the game lot.

he better count overs right today, but he will surely bowl out Hassan while Amir and Wahab will still have few overs left, captain genius

Someone needs to sledge Kohli.

It's been a while since we had a BC/MC mouthing off.

PCB did not pay Steve Rixon- the world class fielding coach, on time as per contract and he parted ways with plenty to say about PCB. Since his departure, fielding has gone down the drain for MenInG.

My six years old cousin singing Dil Dil Pakistan, innocent lad doesn’t even know if Pak is winning...

We have never had a captain of the calibre of Imran Khan.

Long live Imran Khan inshallah.

I’ve always found him to be a narcissist.

India have already scored enough runs. Their bowlers will execute their plans and our batsmen will predictably play into their hands.

Indians lack blind hack powe game which can get them 80+ in 8 overs. Kohli is very methodical but lacks the 6th gear. Pandya is our last hope to get 350.

What more can we expect from this board.
