India might go with four bowlers and play Rohit Sharma in team.If this happens its a pretty good strategy. But then they had to go with three spinners and that's very much likely to happen.

3 day match I think

Virat Kohli: "It's been firm but pretty dry. That's what you expect from Nagpur, good time to bat on day 1. Rohit in place of Varun Aaron and Mishra comes in for Binny."
Hashim Amla: "We would have batted first too. We need to have a good day. You would expect it to break up early on. Dale is not fit, hopefully he is fit for the next game. Simon Harmer comes in for Kyle Abbott."

This South African team barely scored 200 on a batting friendly batta, don't see them anywhere close to scoring this much here. Such an overrated bunch.

Lol wrinkly pitch. I'm going to miss being smug about our overseas unbeaten record.

And how much India scored on same batting friendly batta?Don't underrate them...Its still a pretty good side and can make a comeback anytime. We should look to play positive cricket and seal the series here only. That's all ..

80/0

It was easy.

Btw.. are you an Indian Ab Fan ?!!!! I thought you were a South African.

India will win this , SA batting is pathetic here . Unless you can get 300 plus you cannot challenge India. There spin is ordinary , Tahir has been below par.

It will be just a formality because we all know the the result before hand, saf only hope was winning toss and posting near 400 somehow but that didn't materialize, but they deserve all this phainty due to their school boy level spin playing ability, congragulations to Parooses.

That was in 2nd test.We batted poorly in 1st test.Older Indian side would have scored 350 there and SA don't have quality spinners either.

South Africa batted poorly in 2nd Test as well.. It was a 450 run pitch, and they got bundled out for 200 on 1st Day !

Zak_Fan, Indian...and a big fan of ABD..

Indians will look to grind the SA here , and post a big total. Bat SA out of the match.

80/0 doesn't says all..That's just one session. Our currently batting line up can cause a collapse anytime if the pitch gives assistance to bowlers..Hopefully that won't be the case in coming time..

India would have got 400 at least . SA spinners not good enough.

Can a "nothing to lose, everything to gain" South Africa threaten a win vs India in this test?

Much like in the Arabian desert of 2013, South Africa have their reputation on the line. While their bowlers were lion hearted with their best bowler injured and faced against India's batting order with a lot of heart in the 1st test, they still lost the game after Ashwin sealed the game.

But heroic efforts don't always win games, and it looks like South Africa will be on the attack this time. Amla is looking charged up, will he think outside of the box to pull the rug from beneath India's feet? Can his young talented side leave these shores with a historical win?

Lost yet another toss, when lady luck is not on your side...
Considering how inept we've been against spin batting last is a certain defeat.
Not that we would have won batting 1st but maybe, just maybe we could've made a contest of it. No Steyn as well on an abrasive wicket which will reverse.
I suppose we were always losing this tour and with that our 9 year record, would have been nice to go out kicking and screaming though, instead we've played like timid cats.
Congrats to India they've outplayed us throughout.

Ah, let's make use of lucky escape in the 2nd test. Losing toss here was bad, but can't really complain about luck after 2nd test getting washed out.

I hope, some one bats big and we score some runs. 3 back to back poor batting efforts were disappointing. That some one has to be AB and Amla. I have less hope on AB to bat big so that leaves Amla. Flashy 60-80 runs are not going to win tests.

I am still hopeful to see some fight despite losing toss. I will be hugely disappointed if we bat poorly again in both innings.

I think we've seen the end of the South African team which was the Test world champion.

This team is no better than England, Australia, Pakistan, India and New Zealand.

LOL, first day and ball can't go over the head.

Fast bowlers are well and truly nuetralized on this pitch.
Tbh not a big fan of such pitches, don't get me wrong I love rank turners but they should be having atleast decent bounce. The Mumbai pitch in 2012 was perfect in that regard it was turning but it had good bounce as well it rewarded good bowling as well as good batting.

This is like Aus pitches where spinners are taken out of the equation. Only tall, hit the deck bowlers can get wickets.

No.

They were lucky to fluke a win in ODIs against a depleted Indian side. Tests have been completely one sided and South African confidence has been completely crushed. They were lucky to avoid 2-0,in Bangalore but if rain stays away, we will make it happen here.

Lol dust coming up already, indian curators need to be more subtle when it comes to doctoring pitches.

lol pitching turning square already :)) Buffet
SA batsmen will do bharatnatyam on this pitch againsy jaddu and ashwin :))

250 in 1st innings will be a massive total on this pitch.

Ball is turning square already.

Every 25 runs extra will keep adding too much pressure here. Phew.. I love turners and wanted to see it during this tour because that's what makes it interesting. But only 1-2 SA batsmen can probably score runs on this pitch.

Playing on back foot is going to get some runs here.

Actually these type of pitches give SA the best chance. On a Bangalore type wicket SA would have been wiped out.
Ab's innings in Bangalore would have been virtually useless if the match had gone on as India would have piled up the runs and SA would have crumbled under 2nd innings pressure.
If Ab can play Bangalore type knock here it would give SA a great chance.

Something that makes Amla very dangerous from India's perspective.

One person can't do much unless others play well. It's not an unplayable pitch due to slowness of pitch. It's turning a lot, but still not sharp turn to make it unplayable.
