India is the host for two 50 over WCs, 1 CT and one T20I WC

2023 WC
2026 T20I WC
2029 CT
2031 WC

Last 3 50 over WCs were won by the hosts
India/ 2011
Australia/ 2015
England/ 2019

Let’s go men in blue. Double the trophy count. Hopefully we find a good LOI captain

A bit surprised that India is scheduled to host 2031 World Cup after already being chosen to host 2023 World Cup.

West Indies or Australia/NZ should've been the host for 2031 WC.

India can win if they can get an effective captain like Dhoni.

If Kohli is the captain, they are unlikely to win any trophy.

Depends on who captains India in those tournaments.

I don't know how many tournaments are going to be played in England in the future but Pakistan also has a very good chance of winning at least one tournament if it is hosted in either India/England. :inti

Will be glad if we win at least one World Cup and 2 WTC finals this decade.

Don't care too much about WT20 and Champions Trophy.

For me, it depends on who is captaining. Rohit Sharma is the current captain but it doesn't seem he is a long term captain, Lokesh Rahul has form and the backing behind him but who good of a captain he can be, I am unsure.

Also depends of the players they pick, India has some solid white-ball players coming through. But they will also need to pick the right team and make sure the coach has a equal say as the captain in team and the hierarchy.

In Major tournaments India generally chokes at home.

Starting with

1987 world cup. Lost at Wankhede Against Gatting/Gooch England in Semi Finali.

Nehru Cup 1989, Topped the group and choked in Semi Finali

1996 World cup. Despite taking 2 wickets in first over, easily lost to Sri lanka in Eden Gardens Semi Finali.

2006 ICC Champions trophy. Knocked out in group stages.

2016 T20 World cup. Choked in Semi Finali.

2011 World cup. Won but thanks to Pakistan for dropping Sachin 4 times in SF.

All hail the biggest home bullies of all-time.

Many home bullies will come and go but none will beat us as home bullies.

Depends.

Rohit Sharma is aging.

Virat Kohli is out of form.

Players like Pant are yet to find their feet.

They have a chance, but it depends on how quickly the team adapts to new changes.

We are new chokers of world cricket..
I'll be hugely surprised if they manage to win even one tournament.

Don't think so. Every good player in the world calls India their 2nd home these days and they can play as well as Indians in any of the Indian stadiums. I think India has become a boring team. Effective yes but boring in ODIs and T20s. There is a set pattern too. Except in the 2021 T20 WC, the pattern was to bull doze all the teams UpTo the knockouts with ruthless efficiency and then fold over in SF or final. India needs guts. India needs big match players that can stand up and fight in crunch times. Instead, we saw textbook students with discipline acing all the weekly tests but flunking the main one. And now there is a talk of Rahul being the captain of India after Rohit. That dude's a mental midget

I think india's golden era is about to end. Their team is already very unsettled & kohli/sharma have max 2-3 years left in white ball cricket. India will be going through rebuilding phase for most part of the next ICC events cycle & this rebuilding phase might continue for very long.

Home advantage does not mean Indian will win the tournament. They will also be under much more pressure because off that. All countries from the subcontinent will be comfortable playing in Indian conditions.

Who are those solid white ball players you are talking about?

I think the correct word is 'has to' rather than 'will'.

I'd say anything less than 5 of the 9 trophies and it is an utter abject failure on the part of India.

And if we don't it will be a disgrace. The 2023 world cup should be a shoe in at this stage.

if india dont win 9/9 with 100% win record across all tournaments it will be considered a failure.

Have you guys not learnt anything from the t20 world cup, stop putting unrealistic expectations on the poor lads.

With a pace bowling attack consisting of Shami, Bhuvi, Shardul and Pandya, you’ll be lucky to even win 1 of the 9 tournaments.

Cricket is a dying sport and the gullible fanship in India is the milking cow for financial stakeholders. I will not be surprised if in the next 30-40 years Cricket will just be limited to an corp owned leagues in India with pro wrestling like scripted sports entertainment model to get bucks out of the local viewership. Gone are the days of classy gentlemen's game.

2023 should just be given to us already, it’s a no brainier

I hope so!

But it depends on favourable pitches, because if there is even a bit of spice, like out in the UAE and the ball starts to seam, we'll be in trouble.
