Great over By starc.

RR needs 23 from 12 balls

What a thriller . Only available in the biggest league in the world cricket .

:kp

This is why IPL is so good - greats like Starc turning it around. This looked like Starc of the yore is back.

Must say we have had some really good games this year.

Delhi choking in the super over.

Question remains, why did not Jaiswal & Sanju come to play the super over.

Was Jaiswal scared of Starc

Lol Jaiswal didn't even face a single ball in 20th over or Super over.

He faced at The start of the RR innings and smashed Starc for Fun .

Jaiswal is Starc Daddy :kp

Mitchell Starc bowled a stunning final over as DC forced the first Super over of the season against RR in their IPL 2025 match.

Chasing 189, RR were restricted to 188/4 in 20 overs as Starc defended 9 off the final over. Earlier, DC scored 188 for five against Rajasthan Royals in their IPL 2025 match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Asked to bat first, DC were well served by Abhishek Porel's 37-ball 49 at the top of the order. KL Rahul consumed 32 balls for his 38 before skipper Axar Patel (34 off 14 balls) and Tristan Stubbs (34 not out off 18) switched to top gear to help DC go past 175-run mark. Sandeep Sharma bowled a 23-run final over, allowing DC to get close to 190.

Delhi Capitals chased down the target of 12 runs in four balls on Wednesday (April 16) to win the first super over of IPL 2025. In the match played against Punjab Kings at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, the home team restricted the Men in Pink for just 11 runs in the one-over face-off and then, thanks to KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs, chased down the target with two balls to spare.

The win over RR was DC’s fourth win in five super overs played so far in IPL history, and with that, the Delhi-based franchise broke Punjab Kings record of winning the most super overs in the world’s richest franchise cricket league. The Mohali-based franchise has three wins in four IPL super overs.

2 months is an overkill. Don't you agree? :inti

Brother i am not a traditional fan of leagues. I catch the action only as per my convenience. To me T20 cricket itself is an overkill. That being said, IPL’s match ups and high stakes is what makes it if he stand out league in cricket.

It is a fact IPL offers tremendous entertainment with mix and match of top players. My only regret is IPL owners could have bought better players than some of the players that are playing. After mega auction contests look much better. We are not seeing the same old teams reaching the play offs. MI/CSK/KKR.

Very predictable.
A meaningless T20, being played in Delhi, pace bowler being taken to the cleaners.

Situation changes,
It’s a playoff knock out
Starc bowls Jaiswal out for a 🦆 🤣

I have been seeing this for too long.

Starc is a champion cricketer who rises to the occasion.
Only in odi

I see.
I also don't like T20. I think it is not real cricket. :inti

It is not a fact. It is your opinion. :inti

Lots of strange decisions by RR and Dravid in today’s match, especially in the super over. Didnt particularly understand why they didn’t get Jaiswal or Rana in first & then why did they prefer Sandeep over Archer 🤔

Mi lost the players and past 5 years they did nothing. Rohit loosing form and players means it was tough for them to win any thing .rohit needs all kind of extravagant resources to win the tournaments with his lack of brain problems.its all csk dumb strategy and kkr also a bit off in auction. Srh was too one dimensional

Riyan Parag becomes latest victim of umpire's gauge test, forced to change bat after replacing injured Samson vs DC

After Sunil Narine and Anrich Nortje, Rajasthan Royals' Riyan Parag became the latest victim of the umpire's gauge test to check bats, which the BCCI recently launched in the ongoing IPL 2025. Parag replaced an injured Sanju Samson during Rajasthan's chase of 189 against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Samson hurt himself while playing an ugly swipe against Mohit Sharma on the penultimate ball of the fifth over. He tried to carry through the pain, which even involved the physio having a look at it as the game was paused for a while before he opted to retire.

Parag replaced the injured Samson but was immediately stopped by the on-field umpire before he took strike as his bat had undergone the gauge test. But it failed. Parag was seen animatedly talking to the match official before being forced to change his equipment.

What is BCCI's new rule regarding bat size?

In a move to strike a balance between batting and bowling in T20 cricket, BCCI introduced the rule wherein every bat will go through a gauge before the batter takes guard. While the fourth umpire will inspect the bats of the openers before they take the field, for every subsequent batters, it will be checked by the two on-field umpire.

IPL chairman Arun Dhumal explained that the move was to make sure there is a fair battle on the field. Nobody should feel that somebody's got an undue advantage," he told The Indian Express.

"The BCCI and IPL have always taken all initiatives in this direction so that fairness of the game is maintained. We have used technology to the maximum to make sure that all decisions can be reviewed so that the games don't get unfairly affected. The idea behind this initiative is to ensure that the spirit of the game is maintained."

Sandeep & Archer is 50/50.. pitch is conductive to slow ball and pacers were easy to hit (and results would have different had RR get that runout first ball).. but can't understand why they did send Hetty over Jaiswal.. that's very poor from RR part..

Dravid is very much automated voice response in standard scenarios.he just can't deal any dynamic situation which happens at first time due to his safety first approach. As per cricbuzz, rr management have decided 15 runs are sufficient to win the super over . Who the hell thinks 15 runs are sufficient in super over.desperate times requires desperate effort and nothing will be safe unless over 25/30.Dravid simply thinks like a project manager and assumes target on past .he won't understand players run on adrenaline and they will mock his play safe strategy by hitting 6's in first two deliveries itself.

MI Won The Toss and Opt to bowl first

Sunrisers Hyderabad (Playing XI): Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen(w), Ishan Kishan, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Aniket Verma, Pat Cummins(c), Harshal Patel, Zeeshan Ansari, Mohammed Shami, Eshan Malinga

Mumbai Indians (Playing XI): Ryan Rickelton(w), Will Jacks, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya(c), Naman Dhir, Mitchell Santner, Deepak Chahar, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah, Karn Sharma

:kp

Pandya is the most important player for India in white ball cricket right now, he gives a crucial balance , I do not think any other team has a seam bowling all rounders like him right now. He gets wicket almost every time he bowls , and with bat he can hit at any stage , also can also play restrained innings.

95 . 3

36 balls to go , Hyderabad need some really big overs from here , 150 - 160 will be below par , unless one of their bowlers bowl a dream spell.

SRH team of 11 players is running solely on the shoulders of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head if these two don’t perform losing the match is almost guaranteed .
