irish will be happy to atleast tie the match, but given the position they were in at one stage, they SHOULD have won. but great match non-theless, more interesting than some IPL matches i would say.

It's a victory for team's like goddamn IRELAND that they have give such a hard time to Pak team. What a pathetic team we have, and we are dreaming to win the CT. LOL HAHAHA
 
before that last ball commentator said if they get 275 then pak win due to d/l and that was what the delay was before last ball......think hafiz isn't happy, he was given wrong info by umpires....might be some drama to come
 
Not sure how there can be a tie in this situation? The target was 276. How does D/L calculate a tie? It's not like Pak scored 275. It was an adjusted target, did they also adjust Pak's score? I suspect the umps didn't know either, and gave Hafeez the wrong info, which is why there was little effort by fielders to stop the 4, they thought that would still make them win.
 
Definitely need Afridi to breathe life into this dead team spirit

What life. in a match where ajmal and junaid were getting hit yeah he would have gotten ten wickets ..
 
Bangladesh cannot dream of stretching a team of Pakistan's caliber this far... Irish deserve the credit
 
Ireland is a good team they should be given more matches against test playing nations
 
Indian team would have scored AT LEAST 400 runs against this club level Ireland team.

Irish are a force to be reckoned with these days, not minnows any more. Why they don't get test status is beyond me.

Oh get off it. He had one good series where he was as good as Wasim. Anderson's had several games where looked like Wasim reborn. Doesn't mean he'll be as good. Amir averaged 29, SR of 56, which is good, but doesn't mean he was Wasim. Hell, even Broad looks good on his days, and sometimes series (like the India series) and it doesn't mean he is as good. 40 in Australia, 43.7 in NZ, 43.5 in SL and 19.80 in England point to one good run of form over a few months.
 
The D/L par score was 276, they didn't reach it...there are no ties in that situation.

Sad overall. But still a bit happy that we didn't lose in the end!
 
Very well played Ireland, deserved that one there. Bit ludicrous to keep playing under those conditions though, definitely affected fielding towards the end.
 
TBH hafeez and asad really batted well but our bowlers and some baffling captaincy decisions took the match away.
 
credit where its due... well done Ireland. the king amongst Minnows. truly deserves the test status.
 
Congrats ireland , well played guys. Pakistan team without Afridi was boring to watch and they lost too ..

He might have, he has done that several times, 2009 it was one man against aus and who could forget against SL in UAE out of no where he won us the match.

Afridi is match winner because he has X factor, he might have had a rough patch but frankly he was last of x factor and a genuine match winner for pak.

Ireland should get test status and Bangladesh should be kicked out! On a side note, was this tie just made up like the 1999 WC bangladesh game so that Irish get test status? :yk
 
A big - :)) to Pakistan!!! consider yourself lucky a bit but 'technically' Ireland won since for some stupid reason, had to chase an extra 10 runs in the same amount of overs. Well done Ireland!! really hope you guys join the ranks.
 
In today's ODI, Pakistan scored 266/5 and Ireland replied with 275/5 - AND THE GAME WAS TIED?! Duckworth Lewis HELLO?!

Was past tense... we cannot afford to keep a player who might fire one in a blue moon. he used to do this often and his bowling was sharp but now he is not even a shadow of his former self....

batting was not the problem. asad and hafeez got to the respectable total that should have been defendable however they ripped apart the bowling captaincy decision and fielding was horrifying.
 
lol..and Pakistani barge on captain,player etc..Come on! Its was a great game of cricket..just praise both team and their effort and move on.In Pakistan one day your hero,next day the every cricket fan eats you up like you have no value..Sad we still lack the idea behind the game.

Ireland played really well.Some mistakes were made but player are human...end result...ITS A GAME And IT WAS ONE HELL OF A GAME

Lost two close matches against Pakistan.... defeated Lankans and Indians.

this is 2013. Afridi's bowling has been rubbish of late. In a match where Ajmal has given one of his worst performances, Afridi would never have done better
 
Congrats Ireland.

Can't remember the last time we bowled that badly (except Hafeez). Ajmal, that was the worst I've seen him bowl. Ehsan looked truly awful, think a better side would have smashed him far more than his figures suggest.

Time to bring in Asad Ali I think.
 
Well Ireland just on the basis of this game should get test status. Well done and to our team you really need to get your act straight. first the batting collapse against scotland and now bowling and fielding lapses in this one.
 
Oh well, now we can say Ireland is better then India :P

I've seen Aamir, he along junaid are my idols, but at the time junaid is a much better bowler particularly in ODIs. His major performance was in England tests while Junaid has performed like everywhere. besides juni is hard working guy and he'll only improve and could well be a great!

This is not ajmal's worst perfrmance he has done worst then this LOL. See if u want to be objective then admit it Afridi is match winner X factor, if u gonna diss him cuz u dun like him, then u not being objective and then I won't argue with u
