Any attack will look weak in comparison to Rahat![]()
It's the wicket..
Look at ind vs Eng current test for example. Same thing applies here
I notice how you said attack, not even bowler, Rahat is so good, he IS our attack!
The Australians just won a match by taking 20 wickets for less runs than the Pakistan bowlers could get 15 wickets from.
450 is by no means running through a side.Australians were able to run through our batting lineup twice. Pak bowlers need to do the same and stop the runs as well.
450 is by no means running through a side.
Rahat isn't just our attack, he is also our batting lineup. Did you notice how we didn't score a single run after Rahat was dismissed in the first innings? That's how important he is to the team.![]()
We could not even get 20 wickets
Jackson bird couldn't get into the Pakistan team unless rahat ali was having a bad day
Hazel wood looked a different bowler with reverse swing and shah was lucky that wade was having a bad day with his mitts
Lyon bowled one Jaffa and then went back to bowling dross
The mam, the myth the legend! Didn't even get out today, Stupid Yasir had to get run out, had it baan Rahat, that ball would've been a six!
So impressed by starcBut Starc is the real deal. No comparison with Bret Lee or Mcgrath of course but among the current lot he's the best can bowl 145 plus consistently with good line and length.
Conceding 450 runs, out of which 275 runs have been scored by the tail and a no.6 batsman.. concerns for Australia.. besides Hazelwood, every other bowler leaked runs
They took 20 wickets and won the test for their side. You can continue to call them weaker or whatever, but they have won a test for their side.
They're dropping catches too in crunch moments.. the yesteryear of Aussie cricket was known for its fielding that won the games for them in defining moments or a scenario where they held their nerves and others didn't..
This Test Match side is mental midgets compared to them..
I don't know if you grasp this but when you bag a team that just beat yours it belittles your own team even more.
With the way things are going, this Aussie attack will be comparable to Bangladeshi and Srilankan attacks in no time.. considering they're now conceding 400+ in their 4th innings in their home grounds.. and losing home test matches..
the future looks pretty bleak for Australian cricket
Looked like a pop gun bowling attack today if you ask me.
It's you - if the bowlers remain healthy. What Aussies are missing a 35 overs tight bowler, so that Starc can run flat out for 18 overs a day at max. Bird will do fine in AUS/SAF/NZ/ENG, while Josh is as good as anyone there with new ball. So, basically it's just one hole to fill - Lyon is inferior than the blonde (that is now, when the blonde is almost 50 - still can serve better with 4 weeks training).
In India, Smith will have to bowl 15 overs at least, Aussies will need Lyon & the lefti spinner (got injured in SRL) to perform better than Bhai, Bhai pair + Starc/Josh has to be in supreme physical condition - it won't be that bad attack, particularly, if they bat first.
If I were Aussie selector, I would have rested Starc/Josh pair from PAK ODI (Cummins, Bird as well - unnecessary risk - AUS A can do the 5-0 job; if PAK wins an odd game, it'll be an upset win, doesn't matter who bowls for Aussies). In fact, if it goes to 2-0 by SCG, I'll rest that pair for 3rd Test as well.
With the way things are going, this Aussie attack will be comparable to Bangladeshi and Srilankan attacks in no time.. considering they're now conceding 400+ in their 4th innings in their home grounds.. and losing home test matches..

It's the case of Pakistan being too weak more so than Australia being too strong
True, but Aus bowling can't be called weak when they have Starc, Hazel opening for them.
Yea okay mate.
They are very good actually.. But on this sort of surface you have to bat very poorly to loose if required overs are less than 70.
i see posts Lyon did this, starc did that without people realizing that they were already in a position where worst case scenario for them was a draw. So they could attack without giving a damn about handing out runs to opposition.
You can say they cashed in against mentally shot opposition under scoreboard pressure.
Scoreboard pressure, 181 runs on a flat track is scoreboard pressure!!!!!!!!!!!
Game would have been different for Pakistan if they would have got 15-20 runs lead with 4 over remaining. 2 overs would be lost when another side takes the strike and we might have situation where Australia requires X runs in 2 overs. Runs mattered for Pakistan; not so much for Australia as they weren't gonna loose the game.
But calling 180 runs on a flat track a scoreboard pressure is stretching it. If you are mentally shot and make even 50 runs a scoreboard pressure then no one can do much about it.
things do get difficult for a team when there is no probability of win on sight and the best likely outcome would be draw.. the only surprise is they couldn't bat it out after scoring decent runs in their last two innings.
Fight better Pakistan !You guys are giving way too much confidence to the Aussies before the India tour..

That's good actually. We will smash their confidence and humiliate them4-0
Nopes. Not expecting a 4-0 this time. If pitches are Flat like the Eng series Aussies can run away with a Draw or maybe even sneak a win.. Want rank turners baby. Time for& :jaddu to average 11-12 again !!
The Pakistani batsmen have not shown it consistently but there isn't a lot to fear from starc or halzewoodJust how strong is the attack?
Just how strong is the attack?
Below avg on flat tracks, they generally rely (heavily) on scoreboard pressure to beat their opponents especially in Aus, that or Mitch in red hot form.Just how strong is the attack?
