Yes shadab is an excellent decision but I also wouldn't have mind If rizwan was given the vice captaincy in t20s

Still not sold on Shadab as captain. He's not ready and doesn't always seem in control. The decision to give the final over to Husain Talat the other day and not even acknowledge it as a massive blunder did not sit well with me, personally.

I think Rizwan seems like a much more natural choice as vice-captain, for all formats.

He's backing his player and not throwing Talat under the bus for costing them the game.

Internally I'm sure they know it was a blunder since they haven't given him a single over in the last 2 games.

Not scapegoating Talat should be commended though I agree Rizwan would not just make a better all format vice-captain than Shadab but a better all format captain than Babar as well.

Fair enough. But he atleast shouldn't have doubled down on his decision by saying he would give him the ball again if such a situation arose because "he has seen him bowl". For me, that's just being arrogant. If you don't want to admit it was a blunder and throw the guy under the bus that's fine, but don't insult our intelligence.

I guess certain things get lost in translation plus our guys aren't the most articulate bunch.

Don't think he was being arrogant he probably just meant he had faith in Talat to deliver in this situation and still backs him.

The message was more for Talat than us.

When Shadab was appointed the vice captain there weren't much players who were performing in both ODIs and T20s including Shadab himself. Shadab got the nod because his leadership qualities have been rated by few coaches who he has played under including Mickey and Mohammad Wasim.

The way Rizwan has revolutionized his LOI game, has experience of leading Pak A, emerging teams and now MS, he arguably would have been the first choice if the decision would have to be made now.

Babar is a batsman and is pretty fit so I dont think there will be much opportunity for the VC to lead the side anyways. Rizwan still give suggestions to Babar and Shadab can do the same as every team has a leadership group and it doesn't mean players with certain designation are part of that. As an example Hassan Ali lead CP outstandingly in QAE and has been supporting Shadab in IU as well so he can also be part of that leadership group of Pak team as well and he doesn't really need any designation for that.

Not to forget, he leads KPK in domestic too.

Thing about Babar is that he is not a sure bet as captain. I am all for giving him time to develop as captain but there's no telling if he will and in such a case there should be a viable alternative lined up. And right now Rizwan seems like the only one capable of doing the job (if he is called upon to do so) which is why he should be VC in all 3 formats. Shadab is just not ready for that kind of responsibility yet. Maybe he will one day but right now it feels like he is still trying to find himself as a player.

Agreed. Its after a long time we have an impressive leadership back up in the form of Rizwan with an actual experience on multiple levels.

Watching the series in England from the ground at 4 matches was an eye-opener regarding who the leaders are in this Pakistan team.

Rizwan is the guy pulling the strings really with Babar Azam.

Shadab is vice-captain by name only.

Shadab has been quite impressive mostly whatever team he has captained, but it maybe too early for him for internationals. Rizwan should be ahead of him in ranking for captaincy, but it does not really matter I do nit see Babar being being moved down from captaincy for a long time.

Putting aside his batting and bowling for a moment.

This guy is now one of the world's best fielders, brilliant ground fielder and catcher.

As per some media reports, Shadab Khan will be replaced by one of Mohammad Rizwan or Shaheen Shah Afridi in white-ball format.

Would that be a wise decision?

Replacing him is the right decision

The names suggested as replacements are questionable

I would be highly surprised if IU persist with Shadab as captain for next season

His arrogance cost them an easy run into the final of the PSL again this season.

Should have batted first in both Peshawar games knowing Peshawar are a strong bat first side and his own team are struggling to chase with scoreboard pressure

How do you not bat first at Lahore after winning the toss?

I can’t understand what’s gone on here,

He should have been rested by the PCB alongside the other 4-5 first teamers that were rested. He did a job for them by leading a significantly weakened first team from the last side that represented Pakistan in the T20wc final

Made some mistakes, fair enough but he didn’t do an extremely poor job. How exactly does that warrant a complete removal from the VC job?

I think he got found out as a captain in both PSL8 and the Afghanistan T20 series.

He's not ready for captaincy at all.

The guy has a lot to learn in terms of leadership and the qualities of a good skipper and leader.

I think there is more to it

He’s upset someone higher up. I feel his Kohinoor interviews and the Babar+Rizwan tribute mid series has annoyed the PCB management

I think you are mixing up your hopes with what may have happened :D

Fact is that he has failed to deliver as a captain and has been of little use as a vc.

Bhai Jaan I am the voice of Don Shakeel Suge Knight Sheikh

These kind of statements don’t fly with us. He needs to learn that he isn’t Shah Rukh Khan from Kal ho na ho whenever he (Shadab) is in a press conference
