Have to say that Shaheen should've been playing the test series in South Africa and then been rested for the home test series against WI just before the CT.

According to media reports, Shaheen Afridi is coming back in the Test squad for the West Indies series.

Shaheen should quit test matches or play selectively ie be selected on good bowling pitches and be made to sit out on pattas.

What is the point of not selecting him in SA where the pitches are 100% suited to his bowling, instead you select him to play on paratha pitches.

The management are absolute clowns 🤡

Just shows you how beyond stupid this management is. You rest him for SA Tests where he would have been most useful in bowling friendly conditions but will come back in Pakistan for flat roads or spinning pitches that will have nothing for best bowlers. Furthermore, tri-series & CT will be shortly after that so all you will get is a tired trundling Shaheen in CT.

Shambolic stuff from PCB as usual.

After dropping him, I have already seen what has happened to Pakistan's pace attack especially in Test cricket as they were not able to take wickets even on South African pitches.

Shaheen is gonna play in the windies series LOL. He was not suitable for SA but he is suitable for Pakistan pitches... LOL

Shaheen is better suited for LOIs given the kind of lengths he employs. Also his average speed drops in Tests. He had to say this last year about the pace

“Everyone has a view about the pace, but I have been feeling good. Even if you are bowling at 110kmph and taking wickets, you are feeling good,” Shaheen said.

Ramiz Raja wanted his average speed to reach 136 kph ( some arbitrary speed). At the start of his career, Shaheen was hitting good speeds. 2019-2021 period. However, his average speed was not really over 138. It was around 135 or something.

Shaheen not getting selected for another test series is fine IMO. He would have been a bowling machine in Pakistan.

dont understand how can we prioritize Muhammad Ali over Shaheen... atleast shaheen can bat a bit and he is a way better option with the ball as well but still dropping him out for these tundlers make no sense at all.

He isn't a consistent 140kph bowler either nor does he have the stamina or fitness to bowl 20+ overs a day.

Hamza and Ali are waste of time we should take a punt on Awais Anwar and Arshadullah

Shaheen has missed eight of Pakistan's last twelve Test matches since early 2024.
