What's new

Is Jasprit Bumrah a better bowler than Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir?

2019 world cup? Literally all of India got destroyed.

And modern era being more batting friendly is only applicable to odi. In tests its harder now and more bowling friendly.
Lol no. This is just cope. Bumrah was the best bowler and was literally the one who did not get destroyed.

He had 1-44 off 10 overs on THAT pitch. He had the best bowling figures of any bowler in that match, including anyone from England (who were also smashed around).

Also was not destroyed by Head in that final cause even there he had 43-2 with an ER below 5.

All of this is just cope cause of how bad the Pakistani team is

And no he got destroyed. 44-1 in terrible considering how badly his teammates were getting butchered and he couldn't do a damn thing.

I saw that game and ge got thrashed in the first 10 overs. They took him off and he came back in the last 10 when wickets fell.

His first 5 overs were hilarious and I saw how helpless he was against labu and head. Couldn't do a damn thing against them. Nothing will change that classy legside flick for a boundary by Travis to Bumrah.

Did you watch that game?

Bumrah was the only one who bowled well bs England. Everyone else struggled

Pitches were more bowling friendly in 90s and I know cause I actually watched 90s era games

It’s not even a debate in 2025

In 2025, we’re talking about where Bumrah stands alongside Marshal, Donald, Steyn etc and a lot of reputed analysts are already siding with him. He’s at the top of his game today, by far the greatest cricketer in the world right now. Built different. An assassins attitude. Takes the pitch out of the equation. Takes the format out of the equation. Impacts top series. Impacts tournaments. Bumrah has single handedly changed the way cricket is seen in Bharat where for the first time in history arguably young kids are asking their dads to take them to the cricket grounds and rather than pick up the bat they want to pick up the ball and bowl like Bumrah. Such is his impact.

Jasprit Bumrah does bowl 10 overs in ODI Cricket, he bowls 60 deliveries. He doesn’t bowl 4 overs in T20s but 24 deliveries. It’s because when Bumrah is bowling every delivery is an event in itself.

I am sorry bumrah is levels above both choker Steyn and choker Donald in odi already

In tests he just needs to get 60 to 65 games and yes he will be there alongside those players easy. His impact is already greater than any other Asian player in history

Asif is basically a Bhuvneshwar Kumar level player.

Bhuvi won some matches outside Asia on helpful pitches.

Also did well in Asia when conditions were good

Unlike Asif, he managed to win an ICC trophy though.

And he was never banned for match fixing.

What logic is this, 44 for 1 is terrible because others are getting hit?

And why are you using one innings to prove anything? Is he God that he cannot have an off day? Bradman failed in his last innings so he is worse than Babar?

How does having one or two bad day have anything to do with how great he is overall?

Well, Rameez Raza did mention once that Babar is no less than Bradman. 😝 😝

If you wanna know I have discussed mcgrath vs Bumrah multiple times in detail with reputable and knowledgeable posters.

I've even said bumrah is the greatest all format bowler of all time (t20 + test + odi) + top 10 greatest odi and test bowlers of all time.

If he means Babar is career is as dead as Bradman in 2025 then I 200% agree.

That's the only morbid way I can compare the goat to the fraud.

Otherwise no contest. One redefined what it meant to be a god of cricket in his era, the other is still learning how to talk to women on social media

There are 2 GOATS in cricket, one is Sir Donald Bradman, the other is Sir Garfield Sobers. The former is the greatest batsman of all time, the latter is the greatest cricketer of all time.

Try researching on Sobers online. I bet you'll love it.

Marshall vs McGrath though?

Who wins that?

That’s a toughie

As a neutral -(between pak and ind) it's not even close.. bumrah us way better than both even forgetting the match fixing.

Amir was pretty heartless too and quit test cricket.

Bumrah is also better than Akhtar and waqar already. Will probably end up better than wasim akram too , as he never lived up to his potential in the ultimate format of the game

Bumrah's comparison is actually with Imran and Wasim in Test cricket. The likes of Asif, Amir and Shoaib are jokes in front of him whether it be in terms of conduct or performance.

Nah sobers was a legend but his bowling was overrated relative to stats.
