Is the constant shuffling in playing 11 the biggest problem of the Pakistan team?

One of the biggest problems i see in Pakistan cricket is both the team & the audience don’t invest in the right players nor do they stay invested in them for a long time. For eg.

1. After the West Indies game, everybody wanted Haaris Sohail dropped & Aasif Ali to be bought in. Now after the 3rd game, everybody wants Haaris back & Asif Ali dropped!!!

2. Till recently everybody wanted Mohd Aamir to be dropped, now suddenly he is the second coming of the Christ (but only till he fails in a subsequent game in which case people will start wondering why Junaid Khan is not in the team)

3. Everybody here in PP & elsewhere were excited when Shaheen Shah Afridi was fastracked after PSL, he was supposed to be the next Wasim Akram or Shoaib Akhter. Now why has everybody given up on him after only a few games?

In contrast, if we take indian team as an example - they persisted with Dhawan, Pandya, KL Rahul inspite of a string of failures & now the team is reaping rewards for their persistence. Similarly other teams too identify talent, stick with them & avoid constant chopping & churning so as not to affect morale of the players.

Why are the Pakistan team management , the ex-cricketing media experts & also the PPers too fickle to remain invested in players? Why is it that when Pakistan looses a game, knives are drawn & somebody on the bench (or sometimes somebody altogether out of the team) is always thought to be more capable of winning the game than the playing 11? Is the team’s impatience & constant upheaval the major reason why the team doesn’t perform well?

Pakistani fans and ex players portay as if they have Sachin and Wasims in domestic.
This is the best squad possible with maybe 1-2 changes. Should back them they played competitively against Australia and had good chance of winning, just need to back themselves and they will start winning again.

Nope. It is the skill-level difference between cricketers Pakistan is producing and the rest of the world. Simple as that.

More than a skill difference, it is also a matter of having confidence in your abilities & that comes only when your management & the captain has your back. Not knowing whether you will play the next game or not surely is not the way to inspire somebody to play with a clear mind.

Just to add Pakistani fans on PP after every loss blame selection and say X,y,z should have been selected. When X,y,z gets selected then the same fans say why wasn't a,b,c selected.
They just can't face the fact this is the best team available (minus maybe Malik who seems to have given up). Back them and support them they are the best chance Pakistan had to reach semis.
The problem is in 80s, 90s cricket wasn't as professional so people with skills could get a good career however things have changed and now the sport in most big countries is very professional. Pakistani fans on PP are still stuck on "talent" criteria they need to start focusing on building a professional domestic structure if they want to be consistent .. otherwise they will always be inconsistent as the world moves forward.

I don't understand why some Pakistani fans take pride in Pakistan being inconsistent team who can beat the best teams on their day. This is not something to be proud of but something to worry about, as the second biggest cricketing market Pakistan and fans should aim to consistently win big tournaments and be the best team in all formats.. Taking pride in one off wins isn't going to take the game forward.

Ex players I can understand why they say what they say, they get paid money by media to sensationalize things. Same with Indian ex players who didn't earn well during their time like Kirti Azad, kambli, ashok malhotra, maninder Singh etc

With IK at helm things can change just need 5-8 years and be patient. Everything at the end of the day is interlinked and cricket is also linked with the economy and state of the nation.

Why is Shoaib Malik still playing cricket, is beyond me! Isn't he the only one besides Gayle to have debuted in '90s and still playing international cricket?
