Is the reunification of West Pakistan (now Pakistan) and East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) practically possible?

Bangladesh purchases sugar from Pakistan after many decades

Bangladesh has purchased high-quality sugar in a large quantity from Pakistan after many decades, according to a Pakistan-based news outlet, The News International.

The report said 25,000 tonnes of high-quality sugar will reach Chattogram Port from Karachi next month.

Pakistan plans to export 600,000 tonnes of sugar to many countries this year. Before the initiative, Bangladesh used to import sugar from India.

The price of sugar in the international market reached $530 per tonne as of December 2, the report added.

I have read about how even until the middle of 1971, there was still some chance for West Pakistanis and Bengali muslims to reconcile/resolve their differences and avoid division.

But bengali hindus were the problem. In 1971 close to 20% of bangladeshi population was hindu and mukti bahini was infested with them. Bengali hindus were adamant and most vocal about dividing Pakistan and actively conspired with india to achieve that.
If Pakistani hindus now try these same antics again in Balochistan or Sindh then they should not be spared.

I recommend the book to read "How Pakistan got Divided" by General Rao Farman Ali

So it was Hindu brothers who carved a new country out of Pakistan and rescued Bangladeshi Muslims. Mashallah.

Surprised that BD hasn't launched an operation on India's eastern front. India would have been in a real pickle.

Would have jump started the reconciliation between east and west Pakistan.

hope BD doesn't let this opportunity pass by.

India definitely played a role. They instigated a lot of things. Look up "Agartala Conspiracy".

Sheikh Mujeeb was in the pocket of India and tried to instill a one party state in Bangladesh. That was why he was assassinated in 1975. BD army recognized he was an Indian asset and intervened.

Anyway, we have to move past 1971. No point in crying over spilled milk I guess. All we can do is learn from it.

  • Bangladesh demands $4.52 billion from Pakistan over pre-1971 assets and cyclone aid
  • Dhaka seeks apology for 1971 atrocities
  • Pakistan promises continued engagement on unresolved issues during bilateral consultations
  • Around 324,000 stranded Pakistanis still in camps; Bangladesh urges faster repatriation

First he has to recover from the fact that the demand is not from a Hasina Awami league government.

The icing on the cake is issue of repatriation of "biharis"
Of all the problems I never thought bng has illegal immigration issues

Some Canadian NRI cab drivers are bizarrely wishing for full-blown wars between India and Pakistan, and India and Bangladesh. Someone please give them some passengers so they can focus on driving instead. :inti

A former Bangladeshi army officer close to Chief Adviser Yunus has urged Dhaka to ally with China to seize India’s northeast if New Delhi strikes Pakistan over the Pahalgam attack.

A social media post by retired Bangladeshi Major General ALM Fazlur Rahman has sparked diplomatic concern in the region after he suggested that Bangladesh should consider occupying India’s northeastern states if India were to launch a military strike on Pakistan.

The remarks, made in the wake of heightened India-Pakistan tensions following a deadly attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s (IIOJK) Pahalgam.
