Usman Khan working hard on power hitting with PCB task force in the guidance of Abdul Razzaq and that might be the reason he is likely to be part of TriSeries & CT squad.

Rizwan being an aggressive captain wants firepower in the team so Usman being labelled the dasher @Rana

Wasn't it was you who wanted Usman as second choice Test keeper. What will he do in the era of industrial fans

Usman khan isn't as bad as people are claiming. Imo saud should be in his place, but he isnt that bad.

He's not special but can be a handy player for pakistan.

The problem with pcb is that

A) Their hypocritical, Their questioning his technique yet ugly batters like tayyab, Rizwan, Fakhar etc are in the squad. Fakhar proved that you don't need to be classy to be the best batter in the time. Don't get me wrong nothing with classy, Saim and saud are very classy, But classy =/= best.

B) He top scored in domestics (PSL) and champions cup 2x and proved he was the best batter. Rizwan, Babar and other international players played as well, why didn't they reach no 1?

C) Pcb has mistreated him. They shoved him in with zero practise at no 5 deapite being a psl no 3 or opener and he played like 1 or 2 games only vs Ireland, England and nz. They didn't even give him all games and then all of the sudden he's expected to play in a world cup.

They play him sparingly and haven't given him a long run, Even vs Aus they use him here and their.

It would make sense had he played all games but you play him once and they he plays another game 5 matches later.

You can't claim to drop him when you didn't even hive him a run. By this logic shouldn’t rizwan have been dropped forever? Why was rizwan allowed to have nearly 5 years of failures before being allowed to get settled that too as an opener and no 4 and then captain?

Guys like @Kianig89 seem to be PCB white ball agents here

A batsmen with an ugly technique can be a good batter.

Steve smith isn't a classy batsmen. He has classy drives sure, but everything else is the bare definition of ugly. Weird stance, weird dancing level foot work, sometimes he kicks the balls away like a footballer, anytime he plays the pull shot he swings his body 360 degrees etc etc. Yet he's the greatest test batsmen I've personally seen play the game. Even better then Lara.

Don't get me wrong, plenty of ugly batters suck, case In point rizwan, but don't write off usman khan based of technique when he hasn't even been given a run. Pakistan's biggest problem is that they can't find a proper playing 11.

Saim, Saud, Usman have been your best List A, Fc and t20 batters( Usman whiteball only, Saud List A and test, Saim all formats) just back them at the number they were assigned to and give them one entire year. Atleast 1-2 test series, 2-3 odi and t20 series where they play all matches.

2 to 3 tests, 15 odi's and 15 t20's should be good enough but properly.

Not pick and drop them like Russian roulettes.

Playing him in the CT would be a disaster, nothing but a big gamble. But I am sure if he plays this tournament as some random franchise league then he could act as exorcist for bowlers from any team.

Usman Khan can be a good player in ODIs if he bats one down. He needs at least 10 innings to establish himself in that position because for now his temperament is poor due to his experience in playing leagues.

ODI is the only format Babar is still pretty good in. He has made no.3 his own. Don't see any reason why Usman should be given no.3 in ODIs considering he hasn't really set the world alight till now and isn't slated to become a better batter than Babar at no3.

Junaid Zia, Rafatullah Mohammand, Ramiz Raja Jr were worst.
How can you say that , they had years and years of performance in FC cricket and Raja at international level , this guy Usman has no credential of any sort except some related to PLS , which is just a tamasha cricket.

Not the commentator Ramiz Raja, the guy who was plucked from obscurity for a series against Zim.
Junaid Zia got into the team solely due to being then Chairman's son.

Not sure what is wrong with our batters. These guys score heavily just like in case of usman, but in International games, these guys look like a tail-ender or even worse.

Usman has been a disappointment in internationals so far. Not sure about his ODI stint if he gets a go

because international teams have analysts who have worked on these players unlike PSL guys who are interested in Tapal T & Pakoras

Some people are just domestic and league Cricket bully. They don't have the level to match with highest quality of teams in International Cricket. That's why International Cricket still the highest standard. Specially an ICC tournament.

Yep. He is one of those domestic bullies TBH... His technique is awful as far as I have seen in the international games...

Even players like Babar have to fight it hard to score against quality international sides.

With that technique he was bound to fail in WT20 and Australia.

The thing is if you bully the leagues which should be the highest form of domestic cricket then you must be selected for international and given a chance. Otherwise what's the point in the league?

So it’s a non matter for Usman who scores the runs at a lower level to get him into the national side?
IT would not have mattered if he had scored runs in internationals which he isnt doing despite given chances{but not at his preferred position}.Many players having ugly techniques like head, smith, fakhar, inzamam ul haq have scored heavily despite not having a good technique.

So it’s basically a non issue isn’t it?

The guy bangs a hundred against NZ c at home off 40 balls and all will be forgotten?

yes the technique drama will be forgotten if he starts to score big runs in internationals.
usman has been the top scorer in domestics[white ball].So based on that doesnt he deserve chances in odis although he is having an ugly technique???
Although Tbf to him his technique is on par with other hacks like tt and rizwan.

Abdur Rauf labelled CT squad compromised with lottery selection of Usman Khan.

They are trying to justify his selection by saying that he is only there as the back-up wicketkeeper.

Even as the back-up keeper I would have selected Haris or Haseebullah over him. You know, someone young who actually has a future.

Usman Khan does not belong at the international level for Pakistan. Maybe for UAE, but not Pakistan. And more often than not, he will be exposed for the mentally weak hack that he is.

No chance.

Wajahatullah Wasti, Asad Shafiq in ODIs, Khurram Manzoor, Imran Farhat - basically most of the guys who played under Misbah's captaincy and Misbah himself were terrible in the 2009-15 era.

This is so less talked about. Mainly because his technique and style is so abysmal that people haven't even gotten time to look past it. Mentally he really doesn't look to belong in international level either.

Wajahatullah Wasti scored a half-century in a WC semi-final which is something Usman Khan can only dream of.

Asad Shafique wasn't bad but just not fit for shorter format

He can't play quality pace bowling. In PSL he is a spin-basher, but I'm fairly certain that if he faced quality spin-bowling he wouldn't survive against that either

That knock was a complete outlier, mate. 23 Average , 48 strike rate in ODIs. He was absolutely terrible, overall.

The only reason he was selected was because Akram had regained captaincy and he was taking revenge on Aamir Sohail by leaving him out

That’s something all of Pakistan’s current players can dream of as they have to actually be good enough to play a World Cup semi final, not finish 7th or 8th

Rana bro, i want to know your opinions.

Where do you think Pakistan will end up in this year's CT?

Last time Pakistan won and their were stronger teams in 2017.

England 2017 is stronger then current England and so was India, they had bunrah + a much stronger batting lineup.

This year Pakistan is under rizwan, another keeper batsmen who took over sarfi.

I'm not denying that any of these players aren't absolutely terrible. But Usman Khan should be in the same category, even if he's not necessarily worse than some of them. We don't need to see him play 7-10 ODIs to find that out.

Very difficult to predict bro. The team is crap for flat conditions. These guys can beat NZ and lose to Bangladesh.

Safe bets are they will lose to India in Dubai and Australia in the semis or final

The biggest issue is bottle mentality. Rizwan and babar are a living nightmare to have in a semi final or final.

It's crazy to think that Pakistan could have a monument of trophies if not for these 2 clowns.

2021, 2022 (both Asia cup and t20 wc) were their for the taking.

It’s pretty simple, Pakistan’s bowling has to come to the party like it always does for the sake of a proper championship run.

Rizwan’s doing ok so far as captain. I think he’s averaging 20-25 runs per wicket since he became the captain, so this is something that will help I suppose.

No hopes from the batting to actually bat a team out of the game. On top of it you can see that the fans are not in favour of the more aggressive players.

Coward fans, coward batting team.

Usman Khan is just a fluke player who cant score runs in any tricky situation so why r we just wasting time on him? better try any young blood who could be ur future investment.

Usman Khan is not even deserving of a place in a Pakistan B team. One of the biggest hacks I have seen after Asif Ali and Khushdil Shah. Apart from @Rana and his half follower, no one rates him. He needs to be permanently dropped.

It’s sad that we’re so quick to disrespect our top domestic limited overs performer in recent times. He hasn’t even had a settled position or a consistent run of chances.

We’re too often in a mad dash to prove our players are overrated, rubbish etc. No wonder our batsmen look so low on confidence and under pressure.

There are extremely few batsmen in Pakistan domestic who can score fast at a high average. Usman is one of them. Guys like this in domestic should be given large backing, because even if they can replicate 70% of what they do in domestic they will end up good players. While guys with terrible records in domestic, we’ve seen usually it’s very unlikely that someone will do better in internationals than domestic. Technique or no technique.

Usman Khan must play tomorrow even if Rizwan has to bench himself, to hell with qualifying for TriSeries final , the world needs to witness the talent of Usman Khan @jamie smith

He needs to play tmr in place of kg.
Infact he is better than rizwan.
Even if he gets out cheaply,he will not waste balls and put pressure on other batters.
