Ishan Kishan - Indian batter

CA clarify ball change after Kishan, umpire exchange

Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan will not be charged with dissent after match officials clarified why the ball was changed in the 'A' series match in Mackay.

A statement from Cricket Australia clarified the ball used in the fourth innings of the match was changed "due to deterioration".

Both teams' captain and manager were informed of the decision prior to play, and no further action would be taken, CA confirmed.

There appeared to be confusion among the India A players about the change of ball to start day four of the first-class match against Australia A in Mackay which sparked a group discussion between players and Umpire Shawn Craig.

Umpire Craig had cautioned India A wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan he could face a charge of dissent for "inappropriate behaviour" after he was heard over the stump microphones on the cricket.com.au live stream telling the umpire the ball change was a "very stupid decision".

Craig had initially responded "You will be on report for dissent, that is inappropriate behaviour," in comments broadcast by the stump microphone, but no further action will be taken after Australia A cruised to a seven-wicket win.

With the ball determined to have "deteriorated" there was no need for the umpires to impose a five-run penalty, as is customary under Law 41.3.4 if the "umpires consider that the condition of the ball has been unfairly changed".

Kishan has played two Tests among his 61 internationals for India but is not part of their Test squad for this summer's Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which begins in Perth on November 22.

It was mind game by Australian as usual .

Hardik Pandya spoke about Ishan Kishan in a video released by Mumbai Indians:

“Ishan has been the ‘freshness’ and the ‘energy’ of the room. When we couldn’t retain him, we always knew that it’s gonna be very difficult to get him back from the auction simply because we knew that, the kind of player and kind of skillset he brings. He always used to be keep the dressing room light, has made a lot of people smile.”

“That love and warmth, it came very natural to him and there will be less cake smashing, less pranks happening on people. That was Ishan and who used to bring so much love to this team, that is something as a group we are going to miss. Ishan Kishan, you always be MI’s pocket dynamo. We all gonna miss you and we all love you,”

INDIA WICKETKEEPER-BATTER Ishan Kishan has signed for Nottinghamshire on a short-term deal covering the next two Rothesay County Championship fixtures

Ishan, 26, is a former Asia Cup and U19 World Cup winner with India, and has represented his nation at senior level in all three international formats.

He will be eligible for selection for the upcoming Championship fixtures against Yorkshire at Trent Bridge and Somerset in Taunton.

The left-hander will serve as Kyle Verreynne’s replacement while the World Test Championship-winning South African is away playing a two-Test series in Zimbabwe.

Having been included in India’s squad for the 2023 World Test Championship final, Ishan made his Test bow a month later against West Indies and struck an unbeaten 52 from just 34 deliveries in his second match.

He has over 3,000 First-Class runs to his name, with 17 half-centuries and eight hundreds, alongside having claimed 118 victims from behind the stumps.

Ishan has represented Jharkand in the Ranji Trophy for his entire career, and in 2016, still aged only 18, he struck 273 against Delhi, which at the time was a new record for Jharkand in the competition.

He has also turned out for IPL sides Gujarat Lions, Mumbai Indians, and, most recently, Sunrisers Hyderabad, for whom he hit a 47-ball 106 this year.

“I’m feeling very excited to get my first taste of playing county cricket in England, and it will be a great chance to showcase my skills,” said Ishan.

“I want to make sure I am the best cricketer I can be, and playing in English conditions will really help me to learn new skills.

“Trent Bridge is such a famous ground that is well-known in India and around the world, and I am really excited that I will be playing there.”

Nottinghamshire Head Coach Peter Moores added: “We’re all very pleased to have secured the services of Ishan for these next two Championship fixtures while Kyle is away with South Africa.

“We want players to be themselves and to bring their own game, and something that especially excites me about Ishan is how keen he is to be involved in county cricket.

“He brings proven quality in his ball-striking as a hard-hitting middle-order batter, and he’s keen to move his red ball game forward, which I’m sure will make him hungry to perform.”

Kishan is unlucky to be in the same era as Pant, Samson, Jurel and KL Rahul. Had he been in 2000's or 90's, he would have been an Indian legend. India had to deal with so many bums who could not hold the bat to save their lives. Lost so many matches if the top 5 fell.

He will never improve his game with such attitude.

Forget attitude. He can have as much attitude as he wants if he can give match winning performances. India always had too many meek no-personality players in 90's. We had to deal with Mongia, Saba Karim, Kiran More, Chandrakant Pandit.... All useless and meek. I used to turn off the TV when Ajay Jadeja used to get out at no.5. We all knew these bums I mentioned would do nothing with the bat. They were on par with any standard No.11.

People change. Anyways, my post was about Kishan playing in the wrong era. We needed him in 90's for sure. Indian cricket was in shambles back then.

Good luck at Nottomgham

This man smashed a cracking ODI double hundred and disappeared from the scene e
