Ishan Kishan - Indian batter

CA clarify ball change after Kishan, umpire exchange

Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan will not be charged with dissent after match officials clarified why the ball was changed in the 'A' series match in Mackay.

A statement from Cricket Australia clarified the ball used in the fourth innings of the match was changed "due to deterioration".

Both teams' captain and manager were informed of the decision prior to play, and no further action would be taken, CA confirmed.

There appeared to be confusion among the India A players about the change of ball to start day four of the first-class match against Australia A in Mackay which sparked a group discussion between players and Umpire Shawn Craig.

Umpire Craig had cautioned India A wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan he could face a charge of dissent for "inappropriate behaviour" after he was heard over the stump microphones on the cricket.com.au live stream telling the umpire the ball change was a "very stupid decision".

Craig had initially responded "You will be on report for dissent, that is inappropriate behaviour," in comments broadcast by the stump microphone, but no further action will be taken after Australia A cruised to a seven-wicket win.

With the ball determined to have "deteriorated" there was no need for the umpires to impose a five-run penalty, as is customary under Law 41.3.4 if the "umpires consider that the condition of the ball has been unfairly changed".

Kishan has played two Tests among his 61 internationals for India but is not part of their Test squad for this summer's Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which begins in Perth on November 22.

It was mind game by Australian as usual .

Hardik Pandya spoke about Ishan Kishan in a video released by Mumbai Indians:

“Ishan has been the ‘freshness’ and the ‘energy’ of the room. When we couldn’t retain him, we always knew that it’s gonna be very difficult to get him back from the auction simply because we knew that, the kind of player and kind of skillset he brings. He always used to be keep the dressing room light, has made a lot of people smile.”

“That love and warmth, it came very natural to him and there will be less cake smashing, less pranks happening on people. That was Ishan and who used to bring so much love to this team, that is something as a group we are going to miss. Ishan Kishan, you always be MI’s pocket dynamo. We all gonna miss you and we all love you,”

INDIA WICKETKEEPER-BATTER Ishan Kishan has signed for Nottinghamshire on a short-term deal covering the next two Rothesay County Championship fixtures

Ishan, 26, is a former Asia Cup and U19 World Cup winner with India, and has represented his nation at senior level in all three international formats.

He will be eligible for selection for the upcoming Championship fixtures against Yorkshire at Trent Bridge and Somerset in Taunton.

The left-hander will serve as Kyle Verreynne’s replacement while the World Test Championship-winning South African is away playing a two-Test series in Zimbabwe.

Having been included in India’s squad for the 2023 World Test Championship final, Ishan made his Test bow a month later against West Indies and struck an unbeaten 52 from just 34 deliveries in his second match.

He has over 3,000 First-Class runs to his name, with 17 half-centuries and eight hundreds, alongside having claimed 118 victims from behind the stumps.

Ishan has represented Jharkand in the Ranji Trophy for his entire career, and in 2016, still aged only 18, he struck 273 against Delhi, which at the time was a new record for Jharkand in the competition.

He has also turned out for IPL sides Gujarat Lions, Mumbai Indians, and, most recently, Sunrisers Hyderabad, for whom he hit a 47-ball 106 this year.

“I’m feeling very excited to get my first taste of playing county cricket in England, and it will be a great chance to showcase my skills,” said Ishan.

“I want to make sure I am the best cricketer I can be, and playing in English conditions will really help me to learn new skills.

“Trent Bridge is such a famous ground that is well-known in India and around the world, and I am really excited that I will be playing there.”

Nottinghamshire Head Coach Peter Moores added: “We’re all very pleased to have secured the services of Ishan for these next two Championship fixtures while Kyle is away with South Africa.

“We want players to be themselves and to bring their own game, and something that especially excites me about Ishan is how keen he is to be involved in county cricket.

“He brings proven quality in his ball-striking as a hard-hitting middle-order batter, and he’s keen to move his red ball game forward, which I’m sure will make him hungry to perform.”

Kishan is unlucky to be in the same era as Pant, Samson, Jurel and KL Rahul. Had he been in 2000's or 90's, he would have been an Indian legend. India had to deal with so many bums who could not hold the bat to save their lives. Lost so many matches if the top 5 fell.

No he is one of the biggest brats with attitude problems , hence why.
He will never improve his game with such attitude.

Forget attitude. He can have as much attitude as he wants if he can give match winning performances. India always had too many meek no-personality players in 90's. We had to deal with Mongia, Saba Karim, Kiran More, Chandrakant Pandit.... All useless and meek. I used to turn off the TV when Ajay Jadeja used to get out at no.5. We all knew these bums I mentioned would do nothing with the bat. They were on par with any standard No.11.

People change. Anyways, my post was about Kishan playing in the wrong era. We needed him in 90's for sure. Indian cricket was in shambles back then.

Good luck at Nottomgham

This man smashed a cracking ODI double hundred and disappeared from the scene e

Smashes a 42 ball century against NZ including 10 sixes

Indiscipline costed him 2-3 years of international cricket. He was always a great talent.

Kishan is special and already has Pant level reputation for six hitting in domestics. But sadly for him he is of exact age of Pant. And Pant atm is far better batsman and keeper. So he may have to do something special with bat in coming seasons.
This was on Feb 19, 2016.

He has since improved his game infront and behind the wickets.

And has most importantly improved his attitude to game. He was dropped from Indian team for indiscipline and lack of focus on game.

He went to domestic(after some concision by his well wishers) and lifted Jharkhand from middling team to a formidable outfit with his captaincy and batting.

Hope his transformation sticks and he has long and successful career.

Never thought he would be back as BCCI takes player discipline and attitude extremely seriously. He did his thing and still got back, says a lot about his mind and ability.

It's still only a knock against Pakistan, so he shouldn't be happy just with that.

Wouldn’t had come under Dravid but its Gauti that’s why a player with such bad attitude has come here

Tashan Kishan the one with worst attitude now will get so many chances, pathetic by PCT
Dude, he is a fantastic talent. Always has been. His attitude issues shouldn't matter if he's performing on the field and his teammates don't find him unbearable.

I apologized to Dubeji during the Asia Cup. It's maybe time for you to bury that axe against Ishan :)

Never!! You will see his true colors soon, he will milk this knock

Also Dube bhai has no attitude issues at all

Chota Don and Monster Kishan, some words I think of when referring to him.

Has been better than all three Rinku, Abishek, and Tilak combined.

Kishan's weakness was on the offside, bounce, and the one that goes away early on
Pakistan bowled too much on his legside and in the arc. You could see he struggled when on the off and some bounce.
poor tactics and execution.

Yup.

He is not some batting genius. There was a reason why he was a bench player not long ago.

He is effectively feasting on poor bowling. A leg-side hack. A T20 hack. :inti

Hanumankind is surprisingly very pro India than i thought he would be..crazy good artist though hopefully stays away from cricket- look AP Dhillon..

Ishan Kishan has a 200 in an ODI against mighty 🇧🇩 and scored a sub 130 ball 200 in a format that is 🇧🇩 s strongest

Jury's out whether Ishans a hack

I know which way I would vote 100/100

Ishan Kishan has a very good record against left-arm pace and is known for taking it on. So Pakistan bowling Shaheen right after they had taken a wicket was a massive tactical blunder. Saim Ayub should have been the one bowling the second over.

Also, I think it's a bit funny that after the first over of the match there wasn't a single other over in the match where Pakistan looked like they were ahead of the game. India pretty much dominated the game from the second over till the last ball.

I see this analysis everywhere. But if you don't use shaheen upfront why is he even in the team. They have to use him soemwhere right? India has left handers right through the line up. He has been taken down by every Indian in recent times. Also this pitch is a very helpful pitch for seamers. Make no mistake. Muzrabani owned AUssies here. Later Bumrah, Hardik bowled hard lengths. Shaheen could not take advantage of it.

Most of Ishan's scorings happen in leg-side. He is a leg-side slogger/hack. He is a T20 hack. :inti

Unless he does well in Test and ODI, he is just another Loots Bosman. There are many T20 batters who can bat like him (Tim David, Chris Lynn etc.).

Shaheen could have bowled the third or fourth over. But after a finger spinner picked up a wicket in the first over against a left hander, it made sense to use Saim Ayub when India had two left-handers at the crease. If you are going with such an aggressively spin-heavy line-up of bowlers then the least you can do is use them effectively and make use of their match-ups. Form also counts for something in this sport and Shaheen so far has been getting plundered left and right by Associate batters. Pakistan need to stop thinking him of the new-ball bowler he used to be till 2022.
