He's been batting fine at the test level so it's not like he can not step up to international level.
But he's been given ample opportunities in LOIs and hasn't ever looked the part there.

But then there's an indicator of his LA batting average being 14. Someone with good hitting range with a level headed temperament should be doing better in ODIs atleast. It doesn't just add up. If he lacked the temperament to construct a good inning, then he would have failed in tests as well. If someone with a limited batting skillset had failed to do well in LOIs despite doing well in Tests, it would make sense. But Fahim has a good range of shots, it's confusing.
