Islamabad United 2017 Squad | Discussion Thread

its not like that.

its just interest.

I liked his captaincy, just how some people like Mcculums captaincy.

I liked the way he approached the game as a captain. His decision to go with the conditions rather then reputation.

His batting is what i loved the most.

Im not like an Afridite or Akmalist. Those guys will defend a 0(1) or a throw of a wicket. Misbah always performed and i never have to defend his bad innings, i did defended the fact that he should be allowed a 1-2 bad series if you take account all his performance.
I absolutely hated what he did in the last isloo match and made no comment regarding it.

Yeah but you also exaggerate his successes to no end, and minimise his failings, thats being a Misbahite rather than a passionate fan like Hawkeye

For example if Azhar was not rubber stamped by Misbah would have support his (azhars) run as captain as much as you did ?

WOuld have tolerated Asad in odis for as long as you did?

most probably i will stop.

i think you have heard from your oldies aswell, meh sirf imran khan kay matches dekhta tha, jaab usnay cricket chori mehnay dekhni chordi.
i use to make fun of such people. I use to think, they are just lying, they were probably seasonal fans who only watched tournament cricket and thats it.

Now i understand how one could grow fond of ones way of playing cricket and leading a team and making deicisons

your the legend, i'm just an asim kamal :misbah

True, but I've always thought they used it as a pretext for getting too busy with their lives to follow cricket. I personally can't envision supporting a player so much that I stop taking interest in the game after his retirement.

1) i was always liked Azhar Ali and Asad shafiq.
2) I wanted Azhar as captain of ODI team even before Misbah proposed this.
3) I believe that if Misbah is rubber stamping someone to replace him, then there must be a reason why he is saying that. Now Misbah isn't some villiage idiot is he? There is a reason why he is sponsoring him.

You could say that i trust Misbah's decisions too much. I always have confidence in his decisions. This is probably because he had the habbit of proving us wrong in many occasions.

this happens when you make someone your role model.

Ever since i was a little, i always tried looking for a role model for myself. SOmeone who i wanted to be when i grow up.

SHah Rukh Khan, Adam Sandler ( :)) ) were the usual pick. But you know being a Pakistani grown child i had problem with their drinking and smoking and all, thus couldn;t accept them as a role model.

I've always kept Misbah as my role model, reason being is his shirafat. Hes a shareef banda, acts like a gentleman, and on occasion he has put forward his love of representing Pakistan forward before money(Turning down a 3 county contract, for a stint of Pakistani captaincy, which at that time everyone thought was for 6 months)
What i loved the most about Misbah, was him trying to take responsibility of the batting, having the confidence that he could do it, and he did it many times.

The confessions above have been a revelation for me, too. Can't imagine supporting someone like that.

Ahh we gave it all our but in the end the losses of Russell, Sharjeel, and Billings was too much. Next year we need a revamp. Need to ditch smith, misbah, haddin, and a couple of others.

We gave it our all but it wasn't to be. See you guys next year, hopefully it will be our year. Major Hawkeye

Remember guys. We are still the champions for the next 1.5 hours :))

( my heart is still crying from inside)

Islamabad United signed Ian Bell (35 year old next month) for the Hong Kong Blitz.

You can't make this up :misbah
