What's new

It baffles me how a tailender like Iftikhar Ahmed continues to make a mockery of our system

What are his credentials?

How does he continue to make a presence in these high profile A games parading as an allrounder?

He played one test match for Pakistan, and failed, now he's failed again as a middle order batsman.

His round arm offspins don't offer any threat, what exactly is this guy's role?

I am bewildered by how this guy made it over someone like Fawad Alam?

Can anyone make sense of this selection?

Truly awful selection. To make matters even worse he bowled 29 overs of spin which a young offie could have done.

That is why Pakistan is struggling in International cricket. Not getting to win the amount of games they should have been winning

The bigger question is: How is he averaging 126 in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy this season?

His scores so far this season are 69, 52*, 145 and 113.

Shan managed to get himself in the 11 even though he was not in the squad originally! It looks like they don't want Aussies to get much spin preparation.

Well he's 28-29 years old and had made runs in the ongoing season. He does merit a place in the team.

The bigger question that needs to be asked is wth is with that bowling attack :danish??? Wahab AND Rahat Ali?

We need fewer teams and higher standards in domestic First Class cricket. We need to adopt the model used for the PSL and Pakistan Cup.

There's too much lopsided cricket played between strong departmental sides and generally weaker regional teams (with exception of Peshawar) which allows guys like Iftikhar to pad their numbers only to be found out at international level.

Because no one cares about Fawad Alam, Saad Ali, Salman Butt, Imam ul Haq, Rohail Nazir,

How does this hack deserve a place ahead of Fawad Alam? Surely there must be some logic behind this..

Ifti chacha must be a calming presence for the younger guys. :misbah

What’s baffling is the likes of iftiqar can get into the A team team over someone like fawad alam

He is ditto copy of Misbah ul Haq.

1. Late entry into professional Cricket.

2. Big hitter against spinners.

3. Super fit for his real age.

4. Strong forearms & well built.

5. Consistent domestic performer.

6. Very poor at rotating strike and nudging singles.

He is Misbah 2.0 while being less educated.

He is a tailender pretending to be an allrounder... consistent selections at the International level surprise me..

I watched him bat in the final of the QEA trophy last year. Looked solid on a tricky pitch and against good bowling. Hope he gets a few test matches to prove himself
