I got hit by customs on Laver shipment despite they were undervalued and Screaming Cat which was not undervalued I didn't pay any customs, both came same way [eg Canada Post]

Julian when shipping bat deduct shipping, gloves cost etc from the value of bat which lowers the value but does not deliberately undervalues like Laver.

Hope that made sense :S

The worst thing about customs is the fee they charge for paperwork; seriously?? 15 dollars for producing a piece of paper....not cool.

Mr. KashifJ any update on bat performance?

Yep, got some updates actually :) ... sorry didn't post it though as I didn't want to bore you guys with it !

Since completing the knocking, I think I have done about 7 net sessions with Scat now … Scat is getting better and better with every session; it has opened up quite a lot. Massive (I mean MASSIVE) difference in the ping and ball traveling speed since knocking and now; I have no idea where it is heading from here :)

Personally it’s design/balance has suited my batting style perfectly; I can feel quite big difference in my shot execution, they are much more fluent. I mentioned this before too, its middle is super long but now it has become even more ruthless. The sound it generates when ball is middled is amazing … my fellow cricketers in the club vouch for it, none other bat come even close to it. I normally don’t share my bats but I allowed just two of my very close friends (one of them is ex county & professional player) to face some balls with it; I wish I could replicate their face expressions after using it :))

Scat generates lot of attention for sure, due to its shape and unknown brand name … its bit unfortunate that I didn’t play a single match since I finished its knocking; but this is going to change soon; starting next week onwards at least 1 match per week is booked; so Scat would be put onto ultimate test !

I haven’t had a single bit of disappointment so far with Scat, every single penny well worth. I haven’t felt the need (or the desire) to use Newbery since I got my hands on it; moreover I sold my CA 12000 TRD on very good price; just because I won’t be using it again :D

I’ll try to take a fresh photo of the front and post it soon

Guys, another quick updated on Scat … Yesterday my Scat was put on ultimate test; finally I played my first match with it :)

It was an early morning match; we batted first on a very bouncy and fast wicket, outfield had lot of overnight due, clearly the ball was going to be wet. I was opening the innings and was bit apprehensive about using my Scat with wettish ball, but I stuck with my decision to use Scat !

It was an amazing batting experience with Scat; even my gently pushed shots were traveling on an amazing speed. Once I had my eye set, I really experienced Scat’s power; any ball coming out of Scat was like a bullet, even on a slowish outfield. Boundary rope seemed so close that ball just needed a tap and it was a gonner :)

Normally I play fast bowlers lot better than spinners; but yesterday I hammered the spinners with such an ease than never before. I made a match wining 87 of 60 odd balls :))

During drinks break, guys from other team were asking me about my bat, as usual no one knew this brand; a guy told me that he never heard any other bat making such amazing sound :D

Day before yesterday I also played another match; we were chasing a very modest target. I didn’t like the ball which was used in that match so decided to use my Newbery instead of Scat; I made a quick fire 25 not out to wrap up the match. But after using my Scat in yesterday’s match; I don’t see my Newbery Thruxton coming even close to Scat’s power !

Wow, its great to hear that.

Seems like it is a real gun.

Newbery bats are amazing too but Screaming Cat have outperformed them, that is amazing to hear. I do remember when you first got your Thruxton you rated it very high and seems like Screaming Cat is turning out to be a real belter of a bat.

I'm glad to hear it is performing well for you :D.

How did you get along with the handle?

Yes its a bigger gun than NB ... Scat is on all different level than NB :)

I am quite used to the handle now; I had to adapt in the begining but now its perfect fit :D

Back in the days I didn't like thick handles but since I got Screaming Cat I can't stand thin handles and even normal handles look thin lol.

I try to make my handles a bit oval (which are round), will make a thread on it.
