"I've really not cracked the code regarding a Test match pitch, unfortunately": Ramiz Raja

Why do you need bounce?

Just get the pitches turning, which isn't hard to do in Pakistan or in Asian conditions.

In fact, the pitches during the SA series were turning.

Clearly, him and the management instructed the curator to prepare such a docile pitch.

Absolute cowards!!
Once again as I was saying.

Prepare turning pitches and the results will go in your favour

Getting beat on roads and continually preparing roads was idiotic and stupid

Leave the pitch uncovered and don't water it

Ya but pak atleast know now that to beat england here you need spin pitches thats how misbah used to do it in uae.
Everyone knew that. You just need to not give super flat tracks to Eng.

On flat tracks, Pakistan does not have bowlers to pick 20 wickets and at the same time, Eng bats best on flat tracks.

He truly was a useless chairman and the only thing he gave us was making a statpadder our cricket’s focal point.

Ramiz Raja speaking during an interview:

“I wasn't really in charge of pitch preparation, I was only listening to Babar Azam. When he came into my room, I asked him a simple question: "What plans do you have to beat Australia? Who are the players that can win you a Test match?" He came up with the strategy and even when I questioned it, at the end of the day, he was the captain so I allowed him to choose 2-3 players and the strategy for the first Test match. You can't really plan for an attack if the pitch isn't going to behave the way you want it to. That's the main reason for Pakistan's struggles at home.”

Rameez changing goal posts, putting babar under the bus. 🤣

Rambo is trying to throw Babar under the bus after claiming credit for the flat pitches in the first place.

Let's start all matches on 6th day wickets until our fast bowlers are competitive. Then make sure you win all the tosses and then you will win more than you lose.

So this guy who is a ‘cricketer chairman’ allowed Babar to manipulate him?

Ramiz knows which side to butter and when. He is aware that Babar is number #1 villain for Pakistan cricket fans right now and such statements can get him into the good books and change public opinion about him.

He is not oblivious to the criticism he has copped especially after the second Test about the nature of wickets during his tenure.

He himself made statements at the time that he wants a batting pitch to neutralize Australian fast bowlers.

Are you saying that Babar isn’t to be blamed for the pitches? The same Babar that struggles to play spin, do you think he’d want to produce pitches that exposed his flaws or pitches where he can continue stat padding on?

Ramiz took the credit for the flat pitches and now is shifting focus to Babar.

Babar isn't a groundsman or official. He isn't responsible for the pitch. Even if we accept that he expressed his opinion for what type of pitch he wanted it is still Ramiz that rubber stamped it and then doubled down on it.

Apparently there are whatsapp messages between Babar and Ramiz that suggest a different story to what Ramiz is portraying.

Unfortunately, our people often have a habit of kicking someone when they are down. Rameez refused to support Kamran Ghulam even after he scored a century, instead he focused on criticizing his struggles against pace bowling. On top of that, in his youtube show, he argued that Pakistan needs to prepare spinning tracks to win home test matches, despite previously admitting that he has not figured out the formula for an ideal test match pitch. I am losing all respect for Rameez. His recent actions and statements have been disappointing and it is frustrating to see him focus on criticism rather than supporting players when they need it most.

Is this the same Ramiz Raja who as PCB Chairman:

- Claimed he carried a pitch making guide in his pocket that he read every day so much so he "felt" like a groundsman ?

- Spent great effort trying to import drop in pitches and hired various Australian experts to assist ?

- Stated flat pitches were prepared vs Australia to neutralise their pacers ?

- Gagged the commentators from talking about pitches during the Australia series, and told Michael Kasprowicz to apologise on-air for voicing criticisms ?

For someone who says he wasn't bossing pitch preparations, he sounded pretty involved to me.

His verbal diarrhea continues, had Pakistan won 1 or 2 test matches in previous test series against Aus or Eng at home this guy would have made full YouTube video and told us how he masterminded the defeat of Aus & Eng with Babar.

By the way was he a Chairman PCB or security guard? Someone who has served at such a high position must maintain some confidentiality and integrity instead of becoming a loose cannon

He claimed on the BBC Stumped podcast (Dec 3rd 2021) that he advised Babar on field settings vs India in that streak ending win.

Sums up his philosophy. Assume all responsibility for any glory and none for the disappointments.

Yes, this was Ramiz's quote on BBC podcast, he is a clown

“Babar Azam was here with the Chief Selector before leaving for the World Cup, and I asked him what are your plans against India,” Ramiz said.

“I can tell you how to get rid of Rohit Sharma right now and Babar was intrigued. I said get Shaheen Afridi bowling at 100mph, get a man at short-leg. Just bowl that inswinging yorker at 100mph and do not give him a single and keep him on strike. You will get him out." he added.

Raza suported super roads and also comfirmed making it intentionally to neutralize Aus bowlers. Yes, Babar may have asked as well but Raza can't say that it was Babar and not him. Raza was a big supporter of dead pitches and openly supported it even after the match.

Ramiz Raja, Misbah, Babar and his other shills all need to be kept a mile away from Pakistan cricket.

Ramiz Raja needs to be blacklisted from commentating. I’ve called out Misbah for all the harm he’s done to Pakistan cricket.

I’ll say the same about Ramiz, this guy is also doing everything to serve Babar rather than the best interests of Pakistan cricket. Enough is enough.

Not taking the blame away from Ramiz, I agree he was responsible for the pitch and he basically put zero faith in his batsmen to survive on pitches that would’ve suited our bowlers.

However, Babar was given a lot of power during Ramiz’ stint as chairman, they thought they could create another Imran Khan if Babar had all the power. Those pitches were tailored made for Babar, stopped him from being exposed to spin and the draws covered up his crappy captaincy.

Ramiz at fault, but Babar played a part in it.

Are you saying that Babar isn’t to be blamed for the pitches? The same Babar that struggles to play spin, do you think he’d want to produce pitches that exposed his flaws or pitches where he can continue stat padding on?
Nonsense.

If you had watched him bat in SL in 2022, you wouldn’t question his ability to play spin.

He is going through a bad patch in his career and struggling against everything. He is a complete batsman with no apparent weakness and this is why he will get back to scoring lots of runs very soon and people like you can lick your wounds in a corner.

Ramiz is 100% responsible for the flat wickets. He is just trying to deflect the blame now so that he can come clean.

I wonder who then made the following remarks on Jan 5th 2023 in response to somebody who asked "Whats your take on this? Is babar calling the pitch shots?"

Yes I think so. We all know Babar is a very selfish batsman who is obsessed with individual accolades.

The last time Pakistan produced result oriented pitches at home (South Africa 2021), he failed miserably.

He also got a lot of leverage from Ramiz who was obsessed with making a Kohli type brand out of Babar but unfortunately he is not even a China copy of Kohli.

I think we will see better wickets in the future because Babar might not even be Test captain by the time we play the format again & even if he is, Sethi will not allow him a freehand like Ramiz did.

Like Donald Trump, there's a post for every occasion.

I don’t stand by what I said there. I don’t think I was being fair to Babar.

Ramiz Raja.

An incompetent chairman.

Appointed by another incompetent person holding the wrong office.

Did Raja tried these things? He was trying to make pitch opposite in nature. Yes, it was used pitch, but PCT still used fans before the 2nd test to dry the surface more. Raja was just trying to make super roads when he was calling the shots.

Pakistan use patio heaters and giant fans to prepare pitch for third Test

After flourishing on a tired, cracked pitch in the second Test, Pakistan are employing every method at their disposal to get the surface for Thursday’s deciding encounter in Rawalpindi in a similar state – with the aid of a pair of giant windbreaks, two outsized fans and six patio heaters.

The fans were used before the second Test to accelerate the deterioration of the pitch in Multan, with the intention of creating a surface that would offer Pakistan’s spinners maximum turn and grip.

You dont stand by anything. You just shoot off whatever thoughts come at the time. In a matter of few weeks or months.. like for real??

Kohli the Test batsman himself is a China copy of great Test batsmen.
Name a test players who scored 4 test century in a series away from home after Kohli test debut. :kp

Hint - There is only single player and guess the name of that GOAT player.

If only X number of centuries in a series away from home was a pivotal factor in determining greatness of a batsman. Too bad for Kohli it is not.

If this is a measure of greatness than Tendulkar is nowhere near great because he never scored 500+ runs in a series, has 0 triple centuries and has one of the most awful Man of the Match / Matches played ratios in history.

200 Tests with only 13 MoMs, which is really poor and adds credence to the argument that he was not a match-winner. He drizzled but rarely thundered.

Back to Kohli - any middle-order batsman with less than 10k runs and with a less than 50 average has no business being considered a great in Test cricket let alone be in GOAT conversation. Kohli has a nothing legacy in Test cricket as a batsman.

babar azam?

Well I guess we’ve confirmed, one again, that Ramiz Raja is a complete idiot. He and Babar took Pakistan to the verge of total destruction, potentially turned thousands of fans away from cricket, and destroyed the collective psyche of everyone and made us believe our soil was so bad we couldn’t make a pitch to our advantage.

Stay on topic guys.

Ramiz was the chairman and he just threw Babar under the bus by saying all that stuff in the interview.
