Is Mike Tyson-Jake Paul still happening? Schedule, card, what we know about fight

The much-awaited bout between "Iron" Mike Tyson and Jake "The Problem Child" Paul has been talked about for months at this point, much longer than most fights get the spotlight.

However, after several delays, health concerns, and fights involving Paul since his match against Tyson was announced, many people are wondering whether or not the fight is still going on.

Don't fret. The fight is very much still happening. However, it may be a little different from what you are anticipating. Here is everything to know about the upcoming Netflix fight.

Tyson v Paul - ringwalk time, weight, fight rules, undercard & how to follow

YouTuber Jake Paul faces heavyweight legend Mike Tyson in a professional boxing match on 15 November in Arlington, Texas.

The bout is a controversial one considering Tyson is 58 years old, but on the undercard are three world-title fights including the highly anticipated rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano.

Organisers are hopeful of selling 60,000 tickets at the Dallas Cowboys' AT&T Stadium, which can hold 80,000 fans.

The fight night is also the first boxing event to be streamed by Netflix, with Taylor and Serrano serving as the co-main event for the undisputed light-welterweight title.

You can follow live text commentary of Paul v Tyson and Taylor v Serrano from 03:00 GMT on 16 November on the BBC Sport website and app.

Jake Paul, Mike Tyson Go Head to Head in First Trailer for Netflix Fight

Netflix have released a trailer for the upcoming professional boxing match between Jake “El Gallo” Paul and former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.

The trailer for the bout culminates with Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs) and Paul (10-1, 7 KOs) meeting in the center of the ring, ready to exchange blows. The full trailer can be seen below.

Presented by Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), the fight will stream live on Netflix on Nov. 15 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT from the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. Celsius, DraftKings Sportsbook, Experian, Meta Quest and beer brand Spaten will serve as presenting sponsors for the event. The fight was originally announced in March with plans to hold it in July. However, it was pushed back to November after Tyson had to deal with an ulcer flare up

What a poor decision by Tyson, going to fight in his 60s. Clearly chasing money then preserving legacy.

His legacy will still remain . Money is the main factor but it seems Iron Mike just missing a tear up.

Very dangerous fight for Tyson. End outcome , hope he doesn’t get hurt too much

Yes sad end to what was a magnificent career. Paul should be coming in for more criticism in my view. If he considers himself a genuine fighter, there are plenty of boxers around his own age he could take on.

I think the fight involving YouTubers are often prearranged.

I they will go gentle on each other and try to cash in on a rematch.

If it is a real fight then Tyson is far to old and may get hurt.

Tyson was done after the absolute shellacking handed out by Lewis way back in 2002. And he wants to come back 22 years later?

Is he broke?
I don't think so but I guess the organizers of this fight are offering him a very big sum that he couldn't refuse. But Jake may be behind the scene is offering him something too as otherwise there seems to be no reason for such a drama not fight.

It’s just a cash grab, I am happy for Mike getting a huge pay check. For all he had to go through he deserves the pay check that comes with this so called “bout”

Tyson health 'just fine' but precautions in place

Mike Tyson says he is "just fine" and downplayed his health concerns but was taking extra precautions, asking those around him to wear face masks, before Friday's controversial bout with Jake Paul.

The 58-year-old former heavyweight world champion has not competed in a professional bout since 2005, while YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul, 27, has won 10 of his 11 pro fights.

The contest at Dallas' AT&T Stadium - which will be shown live on streaming giant Netflix - has drawn criticism from the boxing community because of the age gap between the pair and after it was rescheduled when Tyson had a stomach ulcer in July.

Speaking to BBC Sport at Tuesday's media workouts, Tyson said he had been put through his paces during training camp which was "not fun but it's worth it".

He added: "No one is taking it easy on me. They want to see if I quit or not and I'm still here. All the training is over now. The fight is the party, the training is preparation, but the fight is the party."

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, which has sanctioned it as a pro bout, told BBC Sport it "takes seriously the health and safety of all competitors" and all fighters on the card will be medically assessed on Thursday.

Paul tries to goad Tyson at baffling news conference

Mike Tyson spoke just a few words, Jake Paul made crude references and Briton Tony Bellew was escorted out of the arena by security at a baffling news conference in Texas.

Former world heavyweight champion Tyson, 58, will face YouTuber-turned-fighter Paul, 27, at Dallas' AT&T Stadium on Friday.

Tyson has not fought as a professional in 19 years and appeared disinterested as Paul dominated the microphone.

Paul tried to goad Tyson by asking him about comments made in a documentary where the former champion described himself as "natural born killer".

Tyson refused to play ball. "That's what I said," he replied.

Perhaps the most bizarre moment at Wednesday's event at the Toyota Music Factory in Irving came when Liverpool's Bellew inaudibly shouted into a microphone – which he had brought along - from the press area.

The chaos was quite fitting for an event criticised by many boxing purists, but it was given some credibility by the presence of pound-for-pound greats Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano.

Light-welterweight champion Taylor edged her rival to win by split decision in an all-time classic in 2022.

The pair – who will compete for the undisputed title in the chief support - conducted themselves appropriately to build up to the richest fight in female boxing.

Ear covers and pro-Tyson crowd

About 70,000 fans are expected on Friday in a fight which will be streamed live on Netflix, and a healthy crowd of more than 1,000 – mostly Tyson fans - attended the news conference.

There were jeers for Ohio's Paul, who wore a diamond spiked ear cover and referenced the infamous title fight where Tyson bit a chunk out of Evander Holyfield's ear in 1997.

When Paul called his opponent's comments "cute", Tyson was either not listening or chose to ignore him.

One of the most controversial and volatile figures in sporting history having been undisputed champion and served three years in prison for rape, Tyson became animated when a reporter asked him about potentially being defeated by Paul.

"I am not going to lose, did you hear what I said?" he shouted.

Bellew performs stunt as Paul puts on a show

BBC Sport caught up with former cruiserweight champion Bellew as he was ushered out by a few men dressed in black.

Bellew, in what appeared to be a stunt for a betting company, was joined by an older man.

"He's the champion of the care home. [Jake] is fighting a grandfather so why not fight a great-grandfather who has had two new hips and is 106," he said.

After Bellew's ejection, the news conference quickly turned into a one-man show.

Paul – who has mainly fought ex-UFC stars in an 11-bout career – cursed at a journalist who asked him when he would face "a real fighter".

Promoter Eddie Hearn, who said he plans to leave before the main event, was also in the firing line with Paul calling him a "clout chaser".

All fighters on the undercard were asked to predict the outcome of Tyson-Paul. An offended Paul approached all those who went against him and asked them how much they wanted to bet.

The range went from Paul's purse – rumoured to be $40m (£31m) - to $20.

Rather surprisingly, the obligatory face-to-face between Tyson and Paul ended without any drama, but there was already enough of that in the hour and half that preceded it.

Why have seven states banned betting on the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight?

This Friday, Mike Tyson and Jake Paul are set to clash in a one-of-a-kind boxing event. However, betting on this much-hyped match has been banned in seven U.S. states due to concerns over its unconventional structure.

With Tyson at 58 taking on Paul, a 27-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer, the matchup features modified rules that differ from typical professional bouts.

Tyson and Paul will fight over eight two-minute rounds with 14oz gloves instead of the usual three-minute rounds and 10oz gloves used by heavyweight fighters.

States like New York, Pennsylvania, and Colorado are refraining from allowing bets on the match due to these “non-traditional rules” and the modified fight duration.

According to Pennsylvania officials, “Given the totality of factors, the decision was made in the best interest of the betting public not to permit wagering in Pennsylvania.”

Colorado additionally cited concerns about the lack of professional ranking for all participants as a key factor in its decision.

Though restricted in seven states, 31 others still offer betting on this anticipated contest, with Tyson currently labeled as a +170 underdog.

Alex Rella, a senior trader at BetMGM, stated, “Bettors want to see Paul get knocked out and love Tyson as an underdog,” while confirming that BetMGM expects the bout to be one of its most bet-on boxing events ever.

The Nevada Gaming Commission has allowed wagers, saying Tyson vs. Paul passed their requirements to be sanctioned as a professional bout.

Tyson slaps Paul during final face-off

Mike Tyson slapped Jake Paul at a charged weigh-in for Friday's controversial heavyweight fight in Texas.

Novice boxer Paul, 27, will take on 58-year-old Tyson at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas.

After both men had weighed in, Paul crawled across the floor before rising up to Tyson's eyeline for the traditional final head-to-head.

Tyson had refused to engage with Paul's goading for much of fight week, but slapped his opponent across the face, prompting security and team members to rush in to separate the fighters.

"Talking's over," Tyson said and walked off stage. Paul, meanwhile, was smiling before sitting down and appearing to meditate.

"I didn't even feel it. He's angry. He's an angry little elf," Paul said of the slap.

"Mike Tyson, I thought that was a cute slap, buddy, but tomorrow you're getting knocked out."

Two-time world champion Tyson – who last competed professionally in 2005 - had just weighed in at 16st 4lb with Paul a pound lighter.

Among the chaos of the headline antics, undisputed light-welterweight champion Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano offered a calm appetiser, making weight with ease, conducting a friendly face-off before using their time on the microphones to hail the progress of women's boxing.

"I told her this is our time," Serrano said afterwards. "Let's do the same thing we did two years ago.

"This is the defining moment for all women in boxing. This is our time. We worked really hard to be in this position."

In 2022, Taylor narrowly beat Serrano on points to edge an all-time classic at lightweight.

The rematch is at light-welterweight, with both women weighing 9st 11lb.

Taylor's promoter Eddie Hearn was in attendance, despite some reports that he would not be given a credential for the event.

The Matchroom boss has been critical of Paul-Tyson and said he would leave before the main event.

He applauded his fighter Taylor, who was equally complimentary of her fellow trailblazer.

"I've had some amazing moments in 18 years but I think tomorrow night will be one of my best ever," Taylor said.

Yep. Specially in his early years when Don King milked him, and then threw him under the bus 🚌

They are still milking him, Jake Paul is reported to receive double Tyson is being paid.

I tried to watch the press conference but had to turn off as it was sad to see. Mike was the man who promoted fights but he seemed disinterested as he really didnt want to be there. They tried to bring in his old trainer, ask him stupid questions to which he hardly replied.

Imo it seems Mike pulled out of the initial date due to injury , maybe not wanting this fight with advice from family and doctors. But Paul's team probably had him under contract and prob threatened to sue him if he pulls out.

Boxing is a dirty business.

The fight is a farce and it amazes me how it has been pushed on social media as though Tyson has a shot, at his age he’s lost everything and I fear for his mental and physical well being after the fight. I don’t like Bellew but he was spot on for what he did at the presser, no legend should have to go through this. He fought Roy Jones Jnr some time back (for what it’s worth I thought he looked great compared to his outing prior to that) but people far out of their prime and not as much of an age gap between them is a different kettle of fish to this, it’s like me having a fight with someone’s grandpa, this is what this is and its funny how social media have amnesia from Tyson’s medical incident. It’s 8 rounds as well, I do pray it’s scripted and Tyson doesn’t get hurt badly because otherwise it’s almost like legalising murder. I can’t see Tyson winning in anyway, I really hope he can find a shot from the heavens and end it early but it wont happen, I didn’t want to talk about this fight but I’ve indirectly promoted it now…..

Its scary seeing an absolute beast of of man at his prime, now looking unwell, aged and not interested in boxing but still there. Watch the presser, its so disheartening, very very sad to see. As they say father time waits for nobody but seeing Iron Mike like this is not nice for his real fans.

Tyson slapped Paul at the face off, looked scripted. Paul then ranted about killing Tyson. These idiots dont understand the danger of this sport esp for someone the age of Mike and his mind/mental health.

Im with you, as long as Mike is well, we can hope.

These kind of bouts are usually more entertainment than sports ala WWE.

I remember watching Mayweather vs Connor boxing match, no way in a 1:1 boxing contest a champ like Mayweather would go the distance with a guy who is not from the same sport no matter however legit athlete he might be.

This will go the distance. No $$$$ if it ends in less than a minute as it should.

Conor at least was in the prime of his career and a pro athlete from a combat sport, his main pedigree was striking and he even use to box as an amateur in his youth, plus there was evidences of past sparring experiences with professional boxers; all these examples helped him receive a boxing license. He didn’t go the distance with Floyd, and was stopped emphatically, Conor had moments in the fight but there was nothing behind his punches because it is different throwing bombs with the added padding and there’s a drastic power deviation there, technically he looked solid and showed if he picked Boxing as sport, he may have done decently. Mayweather got a bit humiliated if am honest, he won comfortably no doubt but I can tell you he wouldn’t have wanted it to go past 6.

For his age etc Mike looks good but a shell compared to his past and his body language doesn’t look great at all, some people were doing a bhangra over his pad work (and who can’t look good on the pads…) but I saw nothing there and he was absolutely gassed after that mini workout 🙈

One punch mike was never about going all the way, he finds an opening and boom it’s over. That was his usp in his prime.

However he had stamina and temperament back then.

If this Jake Paul guy who I knew as a Disney actor thanks to my kids is as legit as people are saying he is, given his youth and the modern standards of training it should take him less than 2 rounds max.

Let’s see.

What do you make of the Paul brothers as boxers? Do they have something about them?

This is obviously more about the spectacle and making money for everyone involved.

Tyson is a GOAT contender boxer and even today he would have the defense. skill and muscle memory to make a fool of Jake Paul. Just that he doesn’t have the endurance to last many rounds at this age. My prediction is Tyson comes hard and will put Jake in early trouble but Jake will wear him out and win it eventually. I don’t even rate him as a boxer but Tyson is way too old to be doing this.

What do you make of the Paul brothers as boxers? Do they have something about them?

Out of the two Jake is the more talented and has a slightly higher ceiling due to his heavy hands, the fundamentals are not terrible but he wont improve having these kind of fights. He has the resources to compete as a ranked fighter and at least one attribute which an elite trainer can work with at this late stage, he doesn’t have these ambitions though and is exploiting the negative aspects of the sport.

Paul beats Tyson, 58, on points in drab contest

Youtuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul left a permanent stain on two-time heavyweight champion Mike Tyson's boxing legacy with a tedious points win in front of 70,000 frustrated fans in Texas - and millions watching the controversial bout on streaming powerhouse Netflix.

Tyson, as you might expect from a man aged 58 and having not competed professionally in 19 years, was a shadow of his old self.

Paul, 27, is a boxing novice but was too young and too athletic. He kept Tyson at range, landing jabs and accurate punches in an eight-round contest of two-minute rounds.

Tyson was slow and sluggish. He received a heroes reception before the fight, but there were huge boos as the fight drew to a close.

Some fans left before judges' scores of 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73 were announced.

There were question marks on the legitimacy of this fight and how seriously both men would take it, but Tyson said he "came to fight."

In an uncomfortable moment post-fight, Tyson, after his seventh pro loss in 57 bouts, called out Paul's brother Logan and suggested he could fight again.

Both men wore heavier gloves with extra padding as part of the conditions set by the Texas commission, who sanctioned it as a pro fight - a decision looks even more ludicrous post-fight.

Lighter gloves would have made no difference, no punches thrown even came close to a knockout.

Tyson landed only 18 punches in the entire fight, compared to Paul's 78.

Paul made his celebrity name by posting prank videos online and amassing a social media following of 70m before venturing into boxing.

He wins his 11th pro fight, having lost to Tommy Fury last year, and once again reiterated his desire to fight Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.

"He knows he wants a payday so he knows where the money is at," Paul said.

I remember when WWF was the king of ring entertainment because that's what it was - scripted entertainment!

Miss those days. 😥

Everyone knew this fight was just to milk money from fans. Like I said in previous post, I am happy for Mike, he deserved the pay check for everything he has been through.

At the end of the day, records, legacy etc is all Nerd talks, what actually matters for the person is his life and his family’s life, he got a good pay check to enjoy his remaining life and give his kids more money for their future.

This was Jake Paul's first youtube video 10 years ago. How money changes people

They should not count it as a professional boxing match. It really wasn't one.

It is a shame this is being counted as a loss for Tyson (professional record).

Mike Tyson walks away with 20 million dollars in the bag, doubling his net worth and securing his retirement plan. Congratulations Sir. Enjoy the Father Time.

As for Jake Paul, he’s on a roll. Wishing him the best against his next opponent, the vicious Joe Biden.
"Smokin" Joe Bidennnnnn..

expected to see exactly this and still was disappointed. It was clear to see Mike was in it for the money. I don’t think the promoters will ever be able to hype up a Mike Tyson fight again in the future. I hope Mike takes the money and stops thinking about getting in the ring for these stupid exhibits.

Sublime to stupidity - '120 million' witness two sides of boxing

It was uncomfortable, uneventful and uninteresting, but should we be surprised?

Somehow, boxing has a knack of duping the public. We read far too much into body language and demeanour, can be swayed by a slap at a weigh-in or live in a fantasy land powered by nostalgia.

At 27, Jake Paul was young enough and athletic enough to see off a 58-year-old Mike Tyson who was well past his best before the turn of millennium, and maybe well before that.

As a limited boxer, he was unable to get rid of a former world champion who had forgotten more about the sport than Paul will ever know.

So the Youtuber-turned-fighter, said to be wearing shorts costing upwards of $1m (£800,000) and encrusted with nearly 400 diamonds, kept Tyson at bay in a bore-fest and the traditionalists who criticised the event have been vindicated.

Paul says 120 million viewers watched it live globally on Netflix - in the streaming giant's first foray into live boxing - but it was a poor look for the sport.

Before the stupidity in Texas, however, came the sublime when Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano battled out another classic.

Irishwoman Taylor - who beat the Puerto Rican in 2022 - edged another close win.

The scorecard will split opinion, but the sight of a bloodied Serrano throwing hands despite a ghastly cut and Taylor admirably weathering the storm somewhat saved the event.

‘Does anyone care?’ How Tyson ‘almost died’ as dark cloud hangs over call to approve Paul fight

Mike Tyson says he “almost died” preparing to fight Jake Paul, shedding light on the frightening health scare he endured in the lead-up.

Paul defeated Tyson via unanimous decision on Saturday (AEDT) in Dallas, but it was a sad scene as the 31-year age gap between the pair became obvious as the fight went on.

Tyson released a statement on Sunday (AEDT) after the fight, explaining the health issues he overcame to fulfil his goal of getting in the ring — something his kids didn’t get to see him do at the peak of his powers.

“This is one of those situations when you lost but still won,” the 58-year-old said.

“I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time.

“I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs (11kg) in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won.

“To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for. Thank you.”

Jake Paul replied to the post: “Love you Mike. It was an honor. You’re an inspiration to us all.”

The revelation that Tyson had eight blood transfusions is shocking, and some pundits were unimpressed the fight was allowed to go ahead.

Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix wrote on X: “Great job by the Texas athletic commission fully investigating Mike Tyson’s health issues and sanctioning a fight with a 58-year old that says he needed eight blood transfusions. Incredible. Does anyone care about fighter safety?”

Tyson and Paul were originally supposed to fight on July 20, but the bout was postponed in early June after reports Tyson had been dealing with a stomach ulcer flare up.

The former heavyweight champion needed medical treatment on board a flight after complaining of nausea and dizziness.

Tyson hadn’t fought in 19 years but footage of Iron Mike hitting the pads hard in workouts had boxing fans dreaming of a knockout win over Paul. It wasn’t to be.

Paul, 27, even claimed he could have tried to knock Tyson out in the latter rounds of the fight, but opted not to inflict further damage on his opponent.

Tyson had strapping on his leg during the fight and fatigued as the eight-round bout went on.

Paul said he would be happy to fight again soon against any opponent, even calling out Mexican boxing megastar Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

Tyson also seemed to suggested he wasn’t done with boxing, calling out Paul’s older brother Logan in the ring post-fight.

The victory over Tyson takes Paul’s professional boxing record to 12-1, but there were immediate calls for him to fight a boxer his own age, who isn’t washed up. His only loss has been to Tommy Fury last year.

AFL veteran Scott Pendlebury labelled Paul a “con job” on social media and said he would “happily” beat him in two rounds.

Another boxing great, undefeated American and Hall of Famer Andre Ward, was asked during Netflix’s coverage of the Tyson-Paul fight what Jake should do next to further his career.

“I don’t think Canelo wants to do that right now,” he said. “He could change his mind if the number’s right.

“I really think what Jake is after is legitimacy. He’s got the money, he’s got the followers, I think it’s time for Jake to call somebody out a lot younger than Mike Tyson, a bit more dangerous.

“And somebody the boxing public can say ‘oh, we respect you, even if you lose, you took that challenge’.”

Nico Ali Walsh, the grandson of Muhammad Ali, took it further when he posted to X after the fight.

“Jake Paul is an embarrassment to this sport,” he wrote. “If my grandfather was still around, (Paul) would call him out. Absolutely no shame … Love you Mike.”

Broadcaster Stephen A. Smith said: “No more BBall players, strikers from MMA, or old men. It’s time for Jake to get into a real fight. He’s good enough! Make it happen.”

Netflix says more than 60 million households tuned in around the world to watch the main event fight between Paul and Tyson.

Mike has been through a lot. He’s seen the ups and downs. Earned ridiculous money at a very young age and burnt it all. All said and done i think he learnt the lessons and last many years he came across a very sensible and humble man. Its true if he didn’t have a serious health issue a few months ago, this fight would have looked a lot better on TV although with the same outcome. He can peacefully retire now from this and go back to podcast, Tv cameo gigs etc. He’s one of the greatest and most iconic boxers ever without a doubt.

Tyson doesn’t care, he is happy with the 20ml he got for this, his legacy is still the same to almost every boxing fan.

Only online nerds are complaining about it being a dampner on his record whose opinions Tyson and other fighters who do fight way past their expiry date for money don’t care about.

The ones who bought the fight have every reason to be disappointed, however, they should have expected the fight would be like it went.

He basically got paid to get hit

Netflix the home of low budget korean serials and dwayne Johnson movies has surpassed all expectations once again with a great spectacle of how young fat men can be spoilt and scared by old tough guvnors who don't need youtube to be famous
The fight itself was inconsequential, womens fighting reached a all time high and Mike tysons name once again was revered and echoed across enormous arenas

Agreed. He got paid 20mil and that is all that matters to him. He will enjoy his retirement in peace.

Internet nerds keep arguing while Tyson is smiling all the way to the bank. At his age, he hit jackpot.

I understand the part about legacy you guys are making and how it doesn't matter.

But there's still part of me thats sad that a man who was terrifying in his prime has been reduced to videos of his bare bum cheeks and getting beaten up for money.

Mike has been used and abused by boxing and this part is probably part of the abuse too.

I wouldn’t have watched the fight for these reasons - I watched the entrance and that was it. I wont taint my memory of what a legendary career he had for the same reason I will never watch another Ric Flair match since his retirement encounter with HBK at WM 24. Some memories are just too special to be ruined by such tomfoolery. From the little clips I saw online it was entirely scripted, I can’t believe the world is this gullible even after the medical incident he experienced just months earlier and Tyson confirmed his health issues after the fight, I believe he was forced to do this event. He could not put any weight on his front leg and he appeared to have 18oz gloves on, Tyson held back to but he wasn’t going to do much regardless.

Am seeing stupid comments like prime Tyson would have beaten Paul as if the two would have belonged in the same ring when Paul would not have survived against a 10 year old Mike Tyson.

And I laugh when people hate on wrestling, in this type of scenario Tyson would have gone over. I know that feeling of sadness but his legacy can’t ever be taken away, and to him this dance was nothing, he legit doesn’t care, he has been through hell and back, the lowest point would have been the death of his young daughter and the old him wouldn’t have handled that. He’s at a point in life he doesn’t care for any superficial element & I think that the fact he is still here after everything, is a triumph in itself.

Netflix the home of low budget korean serials and dwayne Johnson movies has surpassed all expectations once again with a great spectacle of how young fat men can be spoilt and scared by old tough guvnors who don't need youtube to be famous
The fight itself was inconsequential, womens fighting reached a all time high and Mike tysons name once again was revered and echoed across enormous arenas
lol, the amount of hype these average korean shows get is ridiculous.

Jake Paul's manager issues statement on 'contract clause' after fresh allegations of rigged Mike Tyson fight

Jake Paul's manager Nakisa Bidarian has launched a furious rant at the 'dumb' allegations from Michael Irvin who claimed there was a clause in the contract to limit Mike Tyson's abilities.

The Netflix fight, which was watched by millions all over the world last week, failed to live up to the hype with Tyson landing just over a dozen punches in the full eight rounds.

Fans voiced their anger on social media after the clash with many questioning whether the fight was rigged.

Jake Paul's promotion respond to claims of rigged fight against Mike Tyson

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, the boxing blockbuster

Jake Paul’s company Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) has dismissed claims his fight with Mike Tyson was rigged, labelling those accusations an “insult” to both men.

Paul eased to an uneventful points win over 58-year-old Tyson earlier this month, in what was a professionally sanctioned bout despite the former heavyweight champion’s age and health issues in the months leading up to the event.

Speaking in the ring after his win, Paul admitted that he eased off for much of the bout after it became clear Tyson had little to offer in his first professional bout in 19 years.

Those comments, along with the general lack of action during the eight rounds, have led to suggestions that the fight was scripted for Paul to win.

However, MVP has now responded to that, reiterating in a statement that this was a legitimate bout.

“MVP would like to set the record straight regarding the contractual agreements and the nature of the fight,” the statement read. “Rigging a professional boxing match is a federal crime in the United States of America. Paul vs Tyson was a professional match sanctioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR).

“Both fighters in good faith performed to the best of their abilities with the goal of winning the fight. There were absolutely no restrictions – contractual or otherwise – around either fighter. Each boxer was able to use his full arsenal to win the fight. Any agreement to the contrary would violate TDLR boxing rules.”

Netflix said the event drew a worldwide audience of 108 million, with ticket revenue alone topping $18m.

MVP continued: “Trash talk and speculation are common in sports, and athletes and promoters need to tolerate nonsensical commentary, jokes and opinions. But suggesting anything other than full effort from these fighters is not only naive but an insult to the work they put into their craft and to the sport itself.

Apparently Tyson's current wife Kiki handles his finances and is acting like his manager. He was dead broke, over weight, depressed and had more or less given up on life, he too stood by her when she went to prison. She helped him rebuild his life even though he was never going to be rich or wealthy again.

Slowly Tyson got out of bankruptcy, he started his one man show, started his pod cast, got into the Marijuana Business. This $20 million payday was his way of thanking his wife for all the years she stood by him.

Which 58 year old retired boxer can come back and earn a $20 million paycheque? Even Holyfield and Lewis if they ever don the gloves one final time will need Tyson as the opponent.

If Tyson was smart, he should look at how Mohd Ali and his family signed a $40 million deal with a company for the exclusive use of their fight footage and royalties to their name, fights for life. That deal helped Mohd Ali and his family get out of bankruptcy
