Ah 2017. There were posters here who were confident that Aamir and Hasan would outperform Steyn and would be next only to Marshall.

And they were all rational , sane posters for the most part.

Just goes to show how wrong we all are in most of our predictions

To be fair in 2017 Hasan Ali was much better than Bumrah

Bumrah in 2017 was basically a yorker specialist with funny action. The poor man's Lasith Malinga

It was in 2018 after his test debut that Bumrah showed he is more than just a yorker specialist. He was actually a complete bowler and after that he also became a better bower in ODI & T20s bcoz he was no longer a 1 trick yorker specialist. A classic example of how red ball cricket helped someone become better in white ball cricket as well

Hasan Ali was more a classic English style medium pace seamer who excelled in helpful English conditions but struggled outside - like Ryan Sidebottom & Alex Tudor. Got exposed badly on flat pitches of UAE in 2018 Asia Cup and never recovered from that

Hassan Ali getting pasted like a club bowler by Rohit sharma everytime he comes up against him?

Hasan Ali was done very quickly. He still did OK in some TESTS in UAE/Asia despite losing significant pace.
Its the classic example of Pak pacers past 10 to 15 years - very poor fitness levels.

On the other hand you have Bumrah who totally transformed after CT 2017 to perhaps become the best bowler all formats combined.

I agree this thread is a poor bump but Hasan Ali didnt do anything ever against us. In CT Final, it was Fakhar Zaman and M.Amir who won you the game. Hasan Ali was also belted all over the park in the league game of same tournament.

This thread made sense when it was created. However, like with most Pakistani fast bowlers, they are seasonal. Hasan Ali in 2017, Shaheen Afridi in 2021 etc. However none of these bowlers have desire, will or fitness to play for long time across all formats. The last great bowler Pak produced was Amir.

Some of you guys are so insecure that even after the career Bumrah is having (although half of it is in a hospital bed) there are folk who are upset with Hasan Ali, just goes to show how he bent some of your fans
