Here’s a really crazy speech by a famous American rapper, Kanye West. He was invited to the White House today, and he delivered a speech that was not so far-reached from insanity. Total ludicrous. But still seems to make a lot sense to the US executive administration unit.

I get the impression that the guy has a very high IQ but hes just not on this planet, he hasn't been for quite some time.

The guy needs help

The guy needs help

He definitely has a screw lose.
Some of his music is absolutely brilliant though and there are songs which clearly display his mental state.

Listen to these two,

Yikes.

Genie out the bottle.

People call him insane and he might be, but his mindset is part of the reason why he’s so successful and a very intelligent musician not to mention businessman. People who are part of the rat race, shelf their dreams and are afraid to break meaningless social norms to express themselves won’t see the type of success he has seen.

I’ve always appreciated his personality. This is a fine form of art he is displaying in public.

I define success differently.

My stepkids tell me that his first two albums were innovative, but since his mother passed he has become unwell in himself. He needs psychological help. Rap music was originally supposed to subvert, not shill for the likes of Trump in this debasing way.

My beautiful dark twisted fantasy is possibly the greatest album to come out in the last 10 years. My 2nd favourite in the last 10 years after Good Kid Maad City

Lol, why would the American president waste time with him? Isnt there enough responsibilities on Trump?

Kanye West pledges to perform in Maga hat, and reaffirms presidential ambitions

Having distanced himself from politics in October, Kanye West welcomed the new year by reaffirming his support for Donald Trump in a series of tweets.

“Trump all day,” West posted, followed by a tweet containing three dragon emojis, an apparent reference to his description of himself and the US president sharing “dragon energy”. A further tweet stated: “Just so in 2019 you know where I stand.”

He affirmed, “From now on I’m performing with my muther****ing hat on,” in reference to the Make America Great Again hat associated with Trump’s presidential campaign that he frequently wore in 2018. In December, Pusha T – whose 2018 album Daytona was produced by West – told The Daily Show that West had stopped wearing the hat. Pusha T has described the accessory as “this generation’s Ku Klux hood”.

West explained his attraction to the Maga hat: “One of my favorite of many things about what the Trump hat represents to me is that people can’t tell me what to do because I’m black.”

In late October, West – stung by ultra-conservative commentator Candace Owens falsely claiming he had described the logo for her “Blexit” campaign designed to deter black Americans from voting Democrat – said: “My eyes are now wide open and now realize I’ve been used to spread messages I don’t believe in. I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative!!!”

Kanye West visits President Trump in the White House last October.

However, yesterday West warmed once again to the theme: “Blacks are 90% Democrats,” he tweeted (a Pew Research Center poll cited 90% of black voters supporting the Democrats in the 2018 House of Representatives race), and suggested: “That sounds like control to me,” adding a suspicious face emoji. “They will not program me,” he wrote.

In a tweet stating “2024”, West seemed to allude to his previously discussed ambitions to run for president. In early October, West met with Trump in the Oval Office and monologued about race relations, tax breaks, criminal justice and mental health and described the Maga hat as a “Superman cape”.

West also deleted a series of tweets aimed at Drake, with whom he is feuding. One tweet called out the Canadian rapper for following his wife, Kim Kardashian West, on Instagram. Drake appears to have unfollowed the reality star.

Last month, Snoop Dogg criticised West’s social media outbursts: “He acting a plum damn fool,” the rapper said in a video posted to Instagram.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading The Guardian’s independent, investigative journalism than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. And unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our reporting as open as we can. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
The Guardian is editorially independent, meaning we set our own agenda. Our journalism is free from commercial bias and not influenced by billionaire owners, politicians or shareholders. No one edits our editor. No one steers our opinion. This is important because it enables us to give a voice to the voiceless, challenge the powerful and hold them to account. It’s what makes us different to so many others in the media, at a time when factual, honest reporting is critical.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps to support it, our future would be much more secure.

Kanye West: Yeezy wants to run for president in 2024 and change his name to show wealth

The rapper has spent time with President Donald Trump in the past few years, and even visited the White House to talk with him.

Kanye West, the self-proclaimed "greatest artist of all time", has revealed to a crowd at a business festival that he will run for president in 2024, and wants to change his name to show off his wealth.

At a surprise appearance at the fifth annual Fast Company Innovation festival in New York, he told the crowd how Forbes magazine, which produces an annual rich list, would not call him a "billionaire", despite having records to show it.

He now wants to change his name to show people that it is not bad to call yourself rich.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, he told the crowd: "When people say it's crass to call yourself a billionaire, I say I might legally change my name to Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West for a year until y'all understand exactly what it is."

West added: "When I did Forbes, I showed them a $890m (£695m) receipt and they still didn't say 'billionaire'. They don't want us to know that we can buy land, they don't want us to have the 100% ownership [that] I have at Yeezy."

Yeezy is the name of the rapper's shoe brand, as well as his nickname, and he was at the event to launch his new trainers.

Forbes reportedly failed to include West's Yeezy earnings in its rich list - something the rapper takes exception to.

As well as adding fashion designer to his CV, alongside his rapping credentials, it appears West now wants to add politician to his skill set.

West, alongside his wife Kim Kardashian, has been spending time with President Donald Trump at the White House, talking about issues close to them.

It had long been joked that West had been planning a run for office, but at the event, he said wanted to run for president in five years' time.

He said: "When I run for president in 2024."

West was immediately halted by laughter from the crowd.

He responded by saying: "What y'all laughing at? We would create so many jobs.

"I'm not going to run, I'm going to walk.

"When you see headlines saying 'Kanye's crazy', one in three African Americans are in jail and all the celebrities are in jail also because they can't say nothing, they got no opinion, they're so scared!"

West's appearance at the event comes a day after he told NBC News that his wife's work ethic keeps him active, and would rest knowing he was the greatest artist of all time if it was not for her, during a New York Times conference.

He said: "I think if my family wasn't so - that they didn't work so hard and weren't so omnipresent maybe I'd just rest on my laurels."

He recently made the decision to stop making mainstream rap and turn his hand to the Christian market, and released the album Jesus Is King last week - which went to the top of the Christian music charts in the US.

He now spends his weekends touring the US with his Sunday Service band, performing at church congregations.

Kanye West is no stranger to speaking out, but amidst the protests gripping the nation, this time he is letting his actions do the talking.

Over the past few days, the internet has been abuzz wondering why West, the notoriously outspoken artist and business mogul, hasn’t spoken out about the protests in the wake of George Floyd’s killing by four Minneapolis police officers. Perhaps capturing the thoughts of many, well-respected hip hop media executive and radio personality Ebro Darden started a thread on Twitter that had many speculating about West’s silence.

It’s not surprising people would wonder about why Kanye is so quiet. Over the span of his career, the billionaire has been outspoken on almost every issue imaginable, including his political outbursts on the national stage. For example his swipe at President George W. Bush in 2005 during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina when he claimed “George Bush doesn’t care about black people” became a rallying cry for many at the time he said it. But he hasn’t reserved his criticism for only Republican presidents. In 2018 West took a swipe at President Obama, tweeting "Obama was in office for eight years and nothing in Chicago changed."

In fact, it is West’s relationship with Donald Trump that has been the most perplexing aspect of the complex celebrity’s political views. His White House meeting with President Trump in October 2018 was a surreal moment in which West, who has been an outspoken supporter of Trump, donned a red “Make America Great Again” hat and spoke at length in the Oval Office about a range of issues from criminal justice reform to racism, to even West’s own mental health.

At the conclusion of that 2018 White House meeting, West said “Let's stop worrying about the future, all we really have is today."

Well the future is here, and America is in its deepest crisis in decades, with the nation facing global pandemic, a wilting economy, and a wave of protests sweeping across the United States expressing outrage at police violence and systemic racism. And many of the issues that West has spoken out about in the past, particularly racial justice and criminal justice reform, are in the forefront of the conscience of the nation.

Which is why his current lack of outspokenness is so curious.

Yet amidst the silence, West has actually spoken louder than in words — he has spoken through his actions. On Thursday, CNN reported that West has made $2 million donation to support the families of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor, including legal fees for Arbery and Taylor's families, along with establishing a 529 education plan to fund the college tuition of Gianna Floyd, George Floyd’s the 6-year-old daughter. West also has contributed to organizations in Chicago addressing issues at the forefront of the protests.

Make no mistake — that is a big statement at this particular moment, especially from someone who has already shown a propensity to use his immense wealth to help charities in his hometown of Chicago, as well is in Los Angeles and around the world.

Right now, the celebrity world is filled with individuals who are responding to the protests in the wake of the killings of Floyd, Arbery, and Taylor in a myriad of ways. Some are stepping up and making contributions to causes aligned with issues of racial and economic justice, others are using their social media platforms to stand in solidarity with the protestors, and even others, are stepping out and joining those protestors on the streets.

But the curiosity about Kanye’s silence is an example of the world’s love/hate relationship with the superstar, as well as the double standard that we often hold celebrities to in moments of crisis. When celebrities speak out, many are quick to dismiss their words as posturing or pandering to the media, and when they stay quiet we often question what the misguided reason must be. Kanye West may be one of the greatest victims of that double standard — when he starts talking there is an almost gleeful reaction from the media for the opportunity to question or criticize West’s statements and motives.

Yet now it’s his silence that is really bothering people.

But perhaps Kanye’s silence is actually teaching us all an important lesson. Maybe he is, like many of us, trying to find his voice amidst this chaos. Why should we expect him to need to give a statement, to need to explain to us what he is thinking? Are we demanding that every person, or even every celebrity, explain how he or she feels in this moment? Is it right to expect one of the most recognizable and wealthy African American artists and businessmen justify his silence? Do we expect that from every other celebrity, regardless of their color?

No. Which is why we shouldn’t expect it from Kanye either.

In fact, what we should do is take a moment and actually appreciate the lesson West is teaching all of us, particularly in this moment of national crisis. When all is said and done, what matters more is what is done than what is said. And by stepping up and making contributions to those impacted by America’s racial violence, rather than just talking about it, Kanye West is showing that he understands the power of actions as much as he understands the power of words.

So what might West be thinking? Just last month in a cover story in GQ, West, in his usual outspoken manner, addressed what he criticized as unfair expectations of black celebrities and business owners when it comes to politics. In an interview, he tackled the topic head-on.

"The media puts musicians, artists, celebrities, actors in a position to be the face of the race, that really don't have any power and really are just working for white people," West said. "When it's said like that, it's kind of obvious, right? We emotionally connect to someone of our color on TV and feel that this person is speaking for us. So let me say this: I am the founder of a $4 billion organization, one of the most Google-searched brands on the planet, and I will not be told who I'm gonna vote on because of my color."

Kanye West may have been quiet recently, but there is no doubt the star will speak up in the coming days – he inevitably does. But for now, give the man a rest. His actions are speaking louder than his lack of words.

And that is a lesson that all Americans could learn.

Kanye West has announced he is running for US president - and he has already won the backing of billionaire Elon Musk.

The American rap star posted a message to his 29.4 million Twitter followers in which he suggested he was entering the 2020 presidential race.

"We must now realize (sic) the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future," he wrote.

"I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION."

Tesla chief executive Musk responded to West's tweet, saying: "You have my full support!"

West's wife, reality TV star Kim Kardashian West, also responded to her husband's message by retweeting it with an emoji depicting the American flag.

It was not immediately clear if West was serious about vying for the presidency four months before the vote takes place on 3 November, or if he had filed any official paperwork to appear on state election ballots.

The deadline to add independent candidates to the ballot has not yet passed in many states.

US President Donald Trump - who West has been a vocal supporter of in the past - is set to go head-to-head with Democratic candidate Joe Biden in November's election.

West visited Mr Trump in the Oval Office at the White House in October 2018, where the music star was sporting a red "Make America Great Again" cap.

It is not the first time that 43-year-old West has announced he is running for president.

The rapper - who is said to have a net worth valued at $1.3bn (£1.05bn) - told a crowd at a New York business festival last year that he would run for president in 2024.

And at MTV's Video Music Awards in 2015, West said he had "decided in 2020 to run for president".

Absolute maniac. He admitted the only reason he supported Trump was a publicity stunt and to be a rebel, to "do the things they said I can't do". Someone probably told him he can't run for President and here we are.

He'll get a reality check when he sees how voters back his campaign. Or don't to be more accurate.

Kanye West again says he will run for president

US rapper Kanye West has said he is running for president, potentially pitting him against a man he says he admires, Donald Trump.

"We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future," he tweeted. "I am running for president of the United States!"

His wife Kim Kardashian West and entrepreneur Elon Musk endorsed him.

But it's unclear whether West is really running.

He does not appear to have registered his name with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) for November's election. The closest name the FEC database shows is a candidate called "Kanye Deez Nutz West", who filed their papers with the Green Party in 2015 under the address "1977 Golddigger Avenue, Suite Yeezus" and appears to have raised no money.

It is also not the first time West has claimed that he is running for the White House.

At the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, he said he had decided to run for president in 2020.

But last November he pushed the date back, saying he would actually run in the 2024 contest.

"What are you laughing at?" he asked the crowd at Fast Company's Innovation Festival.

"We would have created so many jobs that I'm not gonna run, I'm gonna walk," he said, adding he was considering changing his name for the run to "Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West".

In his tweet on Saturday, US Independence Day, West, 43, did not say if his supposed run would be affiliated with a particular political party.

In any case, contesting the nomination of one major parties would be impossible at this stage, with the election only four months away.

In order to appear on the ballot as an independent candidate, West would have to gather a certain amount of signatures and register in states by a particular deadline. The deadline has already passed in some major states but the music star would still technically have time to file in many others.

This year's contest is likely to be a straight battle between Republican President Donald Trump and Democrat Joe Biden.

In 2018, West made a bizarre appearance at the White House with President Trump during which he wore a Make America Great Again hat and made an expletive-filled rant that Mr Trump described as "quite something".

"I love this guy right here," West said, walking behind the desk to hug the seated president, who said: "That's really nice."

The rapper also pushed back on the idea that African-Americans are overwhelmingly Democratic Party voters, saying: "People expect that if you're black, you have to be Democrat."

Kim Kardashian West retweeted her husband's statement about the presidential run with an American flag.

She has in recent years become a significant voice in the US movement for criminal justice reform and has successfully lobbied President Trump to release several prisoners.

He'll get a reality check when he sees how voters back his campaign. Or don't to be more accurate.

This is how the Trump thing started in the late-80's. He would announce he wanted to run, then not go through with it. Some election cycles he would actually register to run, just to go back on that a few weeks later. It took 30+ years for that to culminate into an actual run.

Kanye could well be going that same route (along with others like Mark Cuban). Testing the waters, etc.

Future presidential cycles will get wilder and wilder, in the age of social media you don't need legacy news channels to focus on you so much. And if you're independent wealthy (both Cuban and Kanye are billionaires), then all the better. The only road block is the legacy two-party system, but that appears to be on its way out as well. Both Republicans and Democrats have a centrist wings, then an extreme right or left wing - only a matter of time before they form new parties.

While I understand your point, Kanye is a very different case to Trump imo. He's completely in his own world, he's a total maniac, and he makes Trump look like Roosevelt. Listen to his interviews and the way he speaks, the things he says. He honestly has 0 knowledge or interest in politics whatsoever. You might say Trump was the same, but Trump was actually quite involved in politics. He endorsed the Iraq War, he would trash Obama every day on Twitter during his presidency, he endorsed Mitt Romney in 2012. Kanye could not care less about politics. Yes he endorsed Trump, but never read nor cared about a single one of his policies when he did so; it was just a publicity stunt. And while Trump has many hidden scandals and said quite scandalous things in secretly recorded conversations and old interviews, Kanye is on another level, in his music and his interviews. He came on national live TV and said that slavery sounds like a choice, and I don't even need to delve into the things he's said in his music for the last 15 years.

Things might change in the future of course, but right now Kanye is a very very different prospect to Trump.

Thats my point, things are getting crazier with time. 20 years ago Trump wouldn't have gotten 100 votes, he didn't have the platform and people weren't quite as angry. Who knows where the world will be when Kanye seriously runs in 4 or 8 or 12 years...

Also, you can argue that through Kim Kardasian's prison and criminal justice reform efforts, Kayne could position himself to be more involved in politics and policy than Trump ever was.

The problem is he has absolutely no idea about any politics or issues, and I just can't see him ever putting in any effort to understand anything. Trump can just about make a calm, teleprompter presedential speech. It'll be an immense challenge to get Kanye past a weird, wondering rant about nothing full of expletives. Put 20 teleprompters in front of that guy and he'll get bored after the first sentence, he'll start talking about why he thinks slavery was a choice again.

What is this joke? Can the CIA please get a grip of this country!

The theory doing the rounds is that Trump is behind this, in a half baked scheme to lure the black vote away from Biden.

was just gonna say this, a 2 or 3 percent swing would seriously push dems off course, and if they are forced to chase black votes leave the rest of the field open for trump to try and woo.

seems like a very clever move, even if kanya dont stand, it pulls some wind out of dem sails.

Are you serious ? based on what exactly ?
Based on music and his productions, he has a legendary status because with his albums he single handley changed hip hop, it's style
There's a clear difference between pre Kanye and after Kanye era
You will find lots of people feeling the same way that he is the greatest producer of all time in music period

So don't let your biases over shadow his art

The only problem is, he may not qualify to have his name on the ballot by election time. It’s more likely to just be a publicity stunt, or at most a distraction from Trump’s floundering re-election campaign.

Much prefer 21 Savage, Migos, Cardi B and Lil Pump.

I hate he’s music but he is widely recognised as the greatest of the 21st century. Must be s good reason for it.

The guy is a clown and mentally a lost case, he is mostly popular amongst the lone wolf loners, weirdos, creeps and gays; his music feats are influential in the sense of inspiring a big string of confessional dung rappers who are considered to be very cowardly and gay for the most part, this is evident from the way they dress and the messages they convey. If you keep going back to his music again and again then I suggest you also visit a psychiatrist because I can't fathom that

lol. What a sad post. If you can't understand how influential his music because you have no knowledge of this then at least understand the fact that he is one of the most critically acclaimed musicians of the 21st century and is one of the best selling music artists of time with 140 million records sold worldwide and on top of all that he has won 21 Grammy awards.

His logic 🤪

Kanye West’s Fourth of July declaration, via Tweet, that he was running for president lit the internet on fire, even as pundits were trying to discern how serious he was. Over the course of four rambling hours of interviews on Tuesday, the billionaire rapper turned sneaker mogul revealed:

That he’s running for president in 2020 under a new banner—the Birthday Party—with guidance from Elon Musk and an obscure vice presidential candidate he’s already chosen. “Like anything I’ve ever done in my life,” says West, “I’m doing to win.”

That he no longer supports President Trump. “I am taking the red hat off, with this interview.”

That he’s ok with siphoning off Black votes from the Democratic nominee, thus helping Trump. “I’m not denying it, I just told you. To say that the Black vote is Democratic is a form of racism and white supremacy.”

That he’s never voted in his life.

That he was sick with Covid-19 in February.

That he’s suspicious of a coronavirus vaccine, terming vaccines “the mark of the beast.”

That he believes “Planned Parenthoods have been placed inside cities by white supremacists to do the Devil’s work.”

That he envisions a White House organizational model based on the secret country of Wakanda in Black Panther.

And that’s just for starters. For much of the phone calls, his core message, strategically, was that he has 30 days to make a final decision about running for president. At that point, he says, he’d miss the filing deadline for most states, though he believes an argument could be made to get onto any ballots he’s missed, citing coronavirus issues. “I’m speaking with experts, I’m going to speak with Jared Kushner, the White House, with Biden,” says West. He has no campaign apparatus of any kind. His advisors right now, he says, are the two people who notably endorsed him on the Fourth: his wife Kim Kardashian-West, and Elon Musk, of whom he says, “We’ve been talking about this for years.” (Adds West: “I proposed to him to be the head of our space program.”)

An hour into the interview, the hedging was done: He says he definitely plans to run in 2020, versus his original plan in 2024. The campaign slogan: “YES!” His running mate? Michelle Tidball, an obscure preacher from Wyoming. And why the Birthday Party? “Because when we win, it’s everybody’s birthday.”

If it all sounds like a parody, or a particularly surreal episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, West doesn’t seem to be in on it. Calling from his ranch near Cody, Wyoming, where he says that he registered to vote for the first time on Monday, West denies it is a publicity stunt for his upcoming album. (“I give my album away for free.”) A few weeks after he ended two separate text chains with me with the message “Trump 2020” and a fist raised high, he insists he’s lost confidence in the president. “It looks like one big mess to me,” he says. “I don’t like that I caught wind that he hid in the bunker.” West also says that he contracted the coronavirus in late February, though he maintains that had nothing to do with his thoughts on running this year

That said, he won’t say much more against Trump. He’s much less shy about criticizing Biden, which certainly won’t tamp down the idea that the Birthday Party is a ruse to help re-elect Trump. “I’m not saying Trump’s in my way, he may be a part of my way. And Joe Biden? Like come on man, please. You know? Obama’s special. Trump’s special. We say Kanye West is special. America needs special people that lead. Bill Clinton? Special. Joe Biden’s not special.”

From there, he holds forth on pretty much everything else, and occasionally breaks into spontaneous freestyle raps (“If I catch a vibe, I’m gonna catch that vibe”).

ON HIS NATURAL POLITICAL PARTY
“I would run as a Republican if Trump wasn’t there. I will run as an independent if Trump is there.”

ON HIS PREVIOUS SUPPORT FOR TRUMP
“Trump is the closest president we’ve had in years to allowing God to still be part of the conversation.”

ON HIS MAGA HAT MOMENT
“One of the main reasons I wore the red hat as a protest to the segregation of votes in the Black community. Also, other than the fact that I like Trump hotels and the saxophones in the lobby.”

ON DISCUSSIONS ON RACE WITH THE WHITE HOUSE
“One time I talked to Jared Kushner who was saying we don’t have Black leaders, we just have hustlers. Why? Because they killed all the Black leaders.” (Requests for comment from the White House and the Kushner Companies last night were not immediately returned.)

ON DEMOCRATS
“That is a form of racism and white supremacy and white control to say that all Black people need to be Democrat and to assume that me running is me splitting the vote. All of that information is being charged up on social media platforms by Democrats. And Democrats used to tell me, the same Democrats have threatened me…. The reason why this is the first day I registered to vote is because I was scared. I was told that if I voted on Trump my music career would be over. I was threatened into being in one party. I was threatened as a celebrity into being in one party. I was threatened as a Black man into the Democratic party. And that’s what the Democrats are doing, emotionally, to my people. Threatening them to the point where this white man can tell a Black man if you don’t vote for me, you’re not Black.”

ON HOW THE RACE WILL BE DECIDED
“Let’s see if the appointing is at 2020 or if it’s 2024—because God appoints the president. If I win in 2020 then it was God’s appointment. If I win in 2024 then that was God’s appointment.”

ON THE CORONAVIRUS CURE
“We pray. We pray for the freedom. It’s all about God. We need to stop doing things that make God mad.”

ON VACCINES
“It’s so many of our children that are being vaccinated and paralyzed… So when they say the way we’re going to fix Covid is with a vaccine, I’m extremely cautious. That’s the mark of the beast. They want to put chips inside of us, they want to do all kinds of things, to make it where we can’t cross the gates of heaven. I'm sorry when I say they, the humans that have the Devil inside them. And the sad thing is that, the saddest thing is that we all won’t make it to heaven, that there’ll be some of us that do not make it. Next question.”

ON DECIDING TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT
“It’s when I was being offered the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Awards at MTV. I remember being at my mom’s house, my mother-in-law, because my house was being worked on, she calls me ‘son’ and I call her ‘mom,’ I was in the shower thinking, I write raps in the shower. It hit me to say, ‘you’re going to run for president’ and I started laughing hysterically, I was like this is the best, I'm going to go out there and they’re going to think I'm going to do these songs and do this for entertainment, how rigged awards shows are, and then say I’m president. And I just laughed in the shower, I don’t know for how long, but that’s the moment it hit me.”

ON HIS FOREIGN POLICY
“I haven’t developed it yet. I’m focused on protecting America, first, with our great military. Let’s focus on ourselves first.”

ON ABORTION
“I am pro-life because I’m following the word of the bible.”

ON BEING A POLITICAL NOVICE
“I have to say with all humility that as a man, I don’t have all of the pieces in the puzzle. As I speak to you for what a political campaign—a political walk, as I told you, because I’m not running, I’m walking. I'm not running, we the people are walking. We’re not running anymore, we’re not running, we’re not excited—we are energized, Someone can say, ‘Hey, I got a brand new car for you, it’s across the street and you get so excited you run across the street and get hit by a car trying to run to your new car. That’s how they control the Black community, through emotions, they get us excited, we’re so excited, but then for 400 years the change doesn’t truly happen.

ON THE NEED FOR RACIAL HEALING, AFTER GEORGE FLOYD
“Well, God has already started the healing/This conversation alone is healing and revealing/We all need to start praying and kneeling… another bar after that, but when a rhyme comes together I’m going to complete it, not inside the lines created by organizations that we know as our reality. The schools, the infrastructure was made for us to not truly be all we can be but to be just good enough to work for the corporations that designed the school systems. We’re tearing that up, what we’ll do is we’re not going to tear up the Constitution, what we will do is amend.”

ON BLACK HISTORY MONTH
“Oh one other thing, Black History Month. That is torture porn because when that comes up what we do is we see—and by the way, if I get that vibe—that’s the process and we are going to a beautiful, uplifting, fun, creative process as a people, as America collectively, and show the world how great we are. So here we go. Black History Month every year they gotta remind us about the fact that we couldn’t vote, they meaning white supremacy construct, and I said that with the CT at the end, I knew what was I was talking about…Our minds are so much more infinite than what’s coming across TikTok or Instagram, what’s trying to influence our children and the next generation of who we are.

ON HAVING COVID-19
“Chills, shaking in the bed, taking hot showers, looking at videos telling me what I'm supposed to do to get over it. I remember someone had told me Drake had the coronavirus and my response was Drake can’t be sicker than me!” (laughs)

ON RUNNING IN 2020
“God just gave me the clarity and said it’s time. You know I was out there, ended up in the hospital, people were calling me crazy. I'm not crazy. Between all of the influences and the positions that we can be put in as musicians—you go on tour, you put out all these albums, and you look up and you don’t have any money in your account. It can drive you crazy, through all of that I was looking crazy because it wasn’t the time. Now it’s time. And we’re not going crazy, we’re going Yeezy, it’s a whole ‘notha level now. N-O-T-H-A.

ON JOE BIDEN
“A lot of times just like political parties they feel all Blacks have to be Democrat. This man, Joe Biden, said if you don’t vote for me, then you are not Black. Well, act like we didn’t hear that? We act like we didn’t hear that man say that? That man said that. It’s a rap. We gonna walk, all the people. Jay-Z said it best. For the other candidates, I just gracefully suggest y’all bow out—Trump and Biden, gracefully bow out. It’s God’s country, we are doing everything in service to God, nobody but God no more. I am in service of our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, and I put everything I get on the line to serve God.”

ON DEVELOPING POLICIES
“I don’t know if I would use the word policy for the way I would approach things. I don’t have a policy when I went to Nike and designed Yeezy and went to Louis and designed a Louis Vuitton at the same time. It wasn’t a policy, it was a design. We need to innovate the design to be able to free the mind at this time.

ON THE WAKANDA MANAGEMENT MODEL
“A lot of Africans do not like the movie [Black Panther] and representation of themselves in…Wakanda. But I’m gonna use the framework of Wakanda right now because it’s the best explanation of what our design group is going to feel like in the White House…That is a positive idea: you got Kanye West, one of the most powerful humans—I’m not saying the most because you got a lot of alien level superpowers and it’s only collectively that we can set it free. Let’s get back to Wakanda… like in the movie in Wakanda when the king went to visit that lead scientist to have the shoes wrap around her shoes. Just the amount of innovation that can happen, the amount of innovation in medicine—like big pharma—we are going to work, innovate, together. This is not going to be some Nipsey Hussle being murdered, they’re doing a documentary, we have so many soldiers that die for our freedom, our freedom of information, that there is a cure for AIDS out there, there is going to be a mix of big pharma and holistic.”

ON PRAYER IN SCHOOLS
“Reinstate in God’s state, in God’s country, the fear and love of God in all schools and organizations and you chill the fear and love of everything else, so that was a plan by the Devil to have our kids committing suicide at an all-time high by removing God to have murders in Chicago at an all-time high because the human beings working for the Devil removed God and prayer from the schools. That means more drugs, more murders, more suicide.”

ON TAXES
“I haven’t done enough research on that yet. I will research that with the strongest experts that serve God and come back with the best solution. And that will be my answer for anything that I haven’t researched. I have the earplug in and I’m going to use that earplug.”

ON CHINA
“When I become president—let me make some promises—the NBA will open all the way back up from Nigeria to Nanchang and the world will see the greatest athletes play. The world will experience the change in their element. The money is gonna come back. I love China. I love China. It’s not China’s fault that disease. It’s not the Chinese people’s fault. They’re God’s people also. I love China. It changed my life. It changed my perspective, it gave me such a wide perspective. My mom as an English professor taught English in China when I was in 5th grade.”

ON CAPITAL PUNISHMENT
“Thou shalt not kill. I’m against the death penalty.”

ON POLICE KILLINGS
One of my to-do lists is to end police brutality. The police are people too. To end laws that don’t make sense. Like, in the George Floyd case, there was a Black guy that went to jail and it was his first day on the force. So if it’s your first day on the force and it’s your training day, and this OG accredited cop with 18 violations already starts filing out, are you going to jump in front of that person and lose your job that same day? Especially in this climate when 40,000 people lost their jobs? This man was put in a position where—and also he probably didn’t realize that the cop was going to take it that far, he probably was so scared, in shock, paralyzed, like so many Black people. I'm one of the few Black people that would speak openly like this.

ON HIS OTHER PRIORITIES
“Clean up the chemicals. In our deodorant, in our toothpaste, there are chemicals that affect our ability to be of service to God.”

ON HIS CAMPAIGN SLOGAN
“Well my second album is called Late Registration. I got a rap … The other thing is, my campaign is Kanye West YES, not YEP, not YEAH. YES. YES. YES... When I’m president, let’s also have some fun. Let’s get past all the racism conversation, let’s empower people with 40 acres and a mule, let’s give some land, that’s the plan.”

Kanye West promotes vaccine conspiracies in 'presidential run'

Kanye West promoted conspiracies about vaccinations in his first big interview after claiming he wants to run for US president.

Speaking to Forbes, Kanye said he was "very cautious" about a coronavirus vaccine and said: "They want to put chips inside of us."

He was echoing anti-vaccine conspiracy theories running rampant online. And his comments gave further fuel for large anti-vax Facebook groups, where bizarre and baseless claims about the pandemic being cover for a plan to implant trackable microchips in all humans are standard fare.

The coronavirus has prompted a new boom in anti-vaccine conspiracy theories, which often spill out into more conventional groups - like those for local areas or parents.

Public health experts and doctors warn that they could undermine efforts to stop the pandemic, if a vaccine is approved and made available.

Read more on the interview here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-53332251

Kanye’s comments - and his presidential bid - come as he prepares to release his tenth studio album.

A tearful Kanye West launches presidential campaign with rambling rally

In his first rally for his last-minute presidential campaign, rapper Kanye West ranted against abortion and pornography, argued policy with attendees and at one point broke down in tears.

West, 43, a former supporter of President Donald Trump who has left voters befuddled over whether his campaign is genuine or a publicity stunt to help sell albums or merchandise, delivered rambling remarks during the event at a Charleston, South Carolina, wedding venue and convention center.

In remarks that lasted just over an hour, he denounced abortion, swore, called on random members to speak, appeared to be putting forward policy proposals on the fly, and made comments that left even those in attendance muttering in disbelief.

“Harriet Tubman never actually freed the slaves. She just had the slaves work for other white people,” he said at one point when discussing economic inequality.

The event, which was livestreamed on YouTube and carried on local television stations, did little to clarify whether West is genuinely attempting to win the presidency. The campaign he launched with a July 4 tweet has already missed here several deadlines to appear on key state ballots.

At times, he even seemed to suggest he was more interested in disseminating a message than winning the presidency.

“Freedom does not come from an election. The freedom comes from you not loading up the pornography. The freedom comes from you not taking the Percoset,” he said at one point.

West appeared on stage with “2020” shaved into the back of his head and wearing what appeared to be a military-style vest. He argued that abortion should be legal but heavily discouraged, suggesting he would promote a policy as president that anyone who gives birth to a child be given $1 million “or something in that family.”

West referred to the Bible and Christian teachings multiple times, and broke down in tears at one point while describing how he was nearly aborted by his parents.

“The only thing that can free us is by obeying the rules that were given to us for a promised land,” he said. “Abortion should be legal because guess what? The law is not by God anyway, so what is legality?”

The event carried few similarities with typical polished candidate events. The venue appeared to lack audience microphones, so West repeatedly told the crowd to be silent so audience members he called on could be heard.

Kanye West Goes on Twitter Rant, Calls Out Kim and Kris: 'Get Out' Is About Me
Following his bizarre and troubling presidential campaign rally, Kanye West went on a Twitter tirade where he called out his wife, mother-in-law, and even mentioned Bill Cosby. One of the first charges Kanye leveled against his wife Kim Kardashian and mother-in-law, Kriss Jenner, was the two wanted him "involuntarily" committed to a hospital.

"Everybody knows the movie Get Out is about me," Ye tweeted. "Kim tried to bring a doctor to lock me up with a doctor," he said during the tweet-spree. "Kriss don’t play with me you and that calm ye are not allowed around my children Ya’ll tried to lock me up," he said. One of Ye's final tweets of the rant read, "Kim was trying to fly to Wyoming with a doctor to lock me up like on the movie Get Out because I cried about saving my daughter's life yesterday."

Kanye's Twitter rant comes on the heels of PageSix reporting that his family, particularly Kim, was "mortified" after his campaign rally and are hoping the music producer/rapper turned fashion icon will get the necessary medical help.

I genuinely like the guy I hope everything works out for him :ssmith

Kanye seriously needs help. Marrying into a fake, superficial family didn’t help

Either, he is bipolar or this is just another Kardashian publicity stunt to remain relevant.

I always knew marrying into the family he married into would come back to bite him.

I would say America(politics) is a complete joke of this guy is even considered but we've had Bush, Obama, Clinton and Trump.

I would say America(politics) is a complete joke of this guy is even considered but we've had Bush, Obama, Clinton and Trump.

It has turned into a big joke. Anyone can be anything whether or not he/she is qualified.

People are falling for all types of gimmicks.

I don't believe in him being stupid, I believe he is attention hungry and has become a big businessman.

He is doing well to take a lot of black votes away from Biden for his man Trump.

That's the main issue. The fact his business is flourishing shows how fake and dumb American society has become.

I remember him selling plain white t-shirts for $120 each: https://www.okayplayer.com/news/style-kanye-west-apc-120-plain-white-hiphop-t-shirt-sells-out.html.

What kind of idiot pays $120 for a plain white t-shirt?

It's how it is, the second hand value of his sneakers would shock you. Irrespective I do like the new material of Yeezy foam runner but lol at selling price of 524$..

This shoe looks like it was designed by a 4-year old. How the hell is this $524?

Also, it has so many holes! Can you imagine wearing this while it is raining?

Is this man really running for presidency or just having a bit of fun?

I'm not a citizen wouldn't mind seeing first time an episode of Kardashian if Kanye wins.

Kanye West has apologised to his wife Kim Kardashian West for discussing their personal problems in public.

Hours after being visited at his ranch by fellow musician Justin Bieber, the rapper used a public forum, Twitter, to tell her he was sorry for "going public with something that was a private matter".

Acknowledging he had hurt her, he asked for forgiveness and thanked her "for always being there for me".

West, 43, does not make it clear what he is referring to, but last week he posted tweets which included allegations against his family, such as the claim that his wife tried to "lock me up" and that he wanted a divorce.

She, in turn, posted on social media admitting she was "powerless" and reminding concerned fans her husband suffered from bipolar disorder.

Bieber visited West at his ranch in Wyoming, known as Yeezy Campus, on Friday.

West posted a picture of the Canadian deep in conversation with music executive Damon Dash along with the caption: "DD & JB discussing the new spray foam wall prototypes on the YZY campus."

Bieber, 26, was pictured relaxing in a chair while speaking with Mr Dash.

He and his wife Hailey have been touring and put pictures of the trip on Instagram.

Friday had been scheduled as the release date for his new album, but there was no sign of it on streaming platforms.

In other tweets posted by West on Saturday, the singer reaffirmed his commitment to running for president in November, insisting he could "BEAT BIDEN ON WRITE INS".

As an independent candidate who entered the race late, voters in some states will have to write West's name onto ballot papers before they can vote for him, under US election rules.

A write-in candidate has never won a US presidential election.

Republicans are helping Kanye West get on the US presidential ballot in some key states, in what could be a bid to take black votes away from Democratic candidate Joe Biden.

West's unlikely race to become president saw him qualify for Colorado's ballot on Thursday, after he successfully secured Wisconsin, Ohio, Vermont and Arkansas.

In Colorado, one of the rapper's nine electors was Matthew Zielinski, a former Republican congressional candidate who served as an officer with the party in Denver.

Mr Zielinski tweeted that he believes in "fair ballot access", but refused to comment further.

Similar situations have played out in other key states where lawyers or activists with Republican ties have been involved in helping the 43-year-old star get on the ballot.

West himself has hinted he is trying to steal votes from Mr Biden, telling Forbes: "I'm not denying it."

This has fuelled suspicions he is being pushed to run by allies of Donald Trump as a way of siphoning support away from his Democratic rival.

Mr Trump has said he "likes Kanye very much", but added: "I have nothing to do with him being on the ballot. I'm not involved."

The rapper could end up splitting young and African-American votes from Mr Biden, experts have claimed.

But others argue that, historically, black voters have not voted for candidates solely because they are black.

In Wisconsin, Lane Ruhland, a lawyer with long-standing affiliations with the local Republican Party, was filmed dropping off signatures to the election board on West's behalf.

Ohio Attorney Matthew Aumann filed ballot access for West in his state after being paid thousands of dollars in consulting fees by the House and Senate Republican campaign committees, according to finance records.

The rapper's paperwork in Arkansas lists former executive director of the American Conservative Union Gregg Keller as a point of contact.

Over in Vermont, West had an elector in Charles H Wilton. This is despite him previously being chosen as a delegate to the Republican National Convention.

West, who has previously shown his support for Donald Trump, does not have the 270 Electoral College votes needed to have a hope of getting to the White House.

This means he will not be eligible to take part in election debates, which would give him a real chance of winning.

He claims his dreams of being president should be taken seriously, but his wife Kim Kardashian has asked the public to remember he has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and to show him "compassion and empathy".

Kanye West has denied claims he is being paid by Republicans to run for president - insisting he has "more money than Trump".

Speaking on fellow rapper Nick Cannon's podcast, Cannon's Class, he admitted there were rumours that he and the president's party were "in cahoots".

It has been suggested that his campaign is a ruse to draw voters away from Donald Trump's Democratic Party rival, Joe Biden.

But West said: "People keep on saying, 'I think that y'all - you and Republicans - are in cahoots'."

He added: "Bro, can't nobody pay me. I've got more money than Trump."

The musician is a billionaire, according to Forbes magazine, largely because of his Yeezy range of trainers.

Cannon said: "But people are saying that you're a distraction, and because they don't want four more years of Trump, maybe you might. You want an alternative of four years of Ye. Is that realistic right now in 2020?"

West said: "I'm not running for president - I'm walking."

West announced he was running for the highest office in the land in early July, tweeting that "we must now realise the promise of America", immediately attracting the support of fellow billionaire and Tesla founder Elon Musk.

Kanye West hugs Donald Trump during their White House meeting

'People expect that if you're black, you have to be Democrat'

A few days later he said he had "lost confidence" in Mr Trump, the man he appeared to stun into silence during an expletive-filled rant at the White House in 2018.

Outlining his appeal to voters, he said he was running as an independent under the banner of The Birthday Party - "because when we win, it's everybody's birthday".

He also suggested that anyone who had a baby under his presidency would be paid a million dollars.

But the seriousness of his campaign came into question as he asked fans to sign a petition calling for him to be added to the presidential ballot in South Carolina after appearing to miss the cut-off date.

He also failed to make the ballot in his home state of Illinois, Wisconsin and Montana.

In Ohio, he sued the state's election chief to try to get on the ballot there after being deemed unqualified as an independent candidate.

Some opponents of Mr Trump fear West's presence on the ballot in key battleground states could split the vote against the current president.

His wife, Kim Kardashian West, recently spoke about his bipolar disorder, describing him as a "brilliant but complicated person".

Kim Kardashian West and dozens of other celebrities have announced they will freeze their social media accounts to protest against the spread of "hate, propaganda and misinformation".

"Misinformation shared on social media has a serious impact," Kardashian West wrote in a statement on Tuesday.

The move is part of the #StopHateforProfit campaign which was organised by civil rights activists.

The celebrities will freeze their accounts for 24 hours on Wednesday.

"I can't sit by and stay silent while these platforms continue to allow the spreading of hate, propaganda and misinformation - created by groups to sow division and split America apart," Kardashian West said.

American rapper Kanye West has conceded his presidential race but is nowhere near close to giving up his dream for one day running the Oval Office.

In a tweet posted after he appeared on the ballot in 12 states, West made the concession as he set his goal to the race in 2024.

How many votes did Kanye West get?

We don't know - still - who the next US president will be, but we do know who it won't be - Kanye West.

The 43-year-old rapper has conceded after his self-styled "Birthday Party" collected just 60,000 votes out of an estimated total of 160 million.

Another independent, Libertarian Jo Jorgensen, made a much stronger showing - claiming more than 1.5 million votes.

But West's political career may not be over yet. He tweeted "Kanye 2024" this week, signalling another bid to come.

In this first presidential attempt, West appeared on the ballot in 12 states, missing the filing deadline in most others. He gathered the most votes - 10,188 - in Tennessee, a state that typically favours Republican candidates.

When he announced his candidacy in July, West had said that his platform was modelled off Wakanda, the fictional kingdom from Black Panther.

Ending police brutality was a priority, he told Forbes in an interview, as was cleaning up chemicals "in our deodorant, in our toothpaste", and was focused on protecting America with its "great military".

And why the party name?

"Because when we win, it's everybody's birthday party," he said.

But West's candidacy was the subject of much criticism - and concern about his health.

At a rally in Charleston, South Carolina, meant to officially launch his campaign, the star made several bewildering rants, at one point saying that 19th century abolitionist Harriet Tubman "never actually freed the slaves, she just had the slaves go to work for other white people".

West later began crying when talking about abortion, saying that his parents almost aborted him, and that he had previously wanted to abort his daughter.

The rapper disclosed last year that he had bipolar disorder and his wife, Kim Kardashian West, posted on social media amid his run asking for "compassion and empathy" for West whose "words sometimes do not align with his intentions".

And posts on Twitter by West urging followers to write-in his name on ballots for president incited criticism that he was effectively siphoning votes away from legitimate candidates.

This is fraud on an unprecedented scale against Kanye. This needs a full investigation and until there is, he should stay as a lunatic.

Kim Kardashian 'files to divorce Kanye West'

Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce from rapper Kanye West, according to reports in the US media.

The couple have been married for almost seven years and have four children together.

The news was broken by celebrity news website TMZ after months of rumours of marital difficulties.

Reports in US media suggest the reality star, 40, has requested joint legal and physical custody of their children. Neither has publicly commented.

The couple are among the most recognisable stars in the world and are both hugely successful in their own right.

Kim first found fame in 2007 as the star of an E! Television reality series about her family. Keeping up with the Kardashians has remained hugely popular since, with its 21st and final series due to air next year.

The reality star has found success in many other areas of business, from mobile apps to make-up, and Forbes estimates her personal wealth to be about $780m (£556m).

Known for huge international hits like Gold Digger, Kanye West has been one of the biggest names in rap music for over 15 years. The Grammy-winning musician has also found success as a fashion designer.

The pair were friends for years before they got together and West first appeared on her family's reality show in 2010.

Their first daughter, North, arrived in June 2013.

West famously hired the San Francisco Giants' baseball stadium and an orchestra to propose to her in front of her family, and their show's cameras, later that year.

They got married in Italy in May 2014 and a photograph of them kissing on their wedding day became, at the time, Instagram's most liked post ever. By this point she and her sisters had turned social media into an art form, with their online followings propelling their business success and fame ever further.

Kardashian gave birth to the couple's first son, Saint West, the following year. They went on to have two other children, Chicago and Psalm, through a surrogate after the reality star suffered from health complications during her previous pregnancies.

The couple have rarely been away from tabloid headlines since, most notably when Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris in 2016.

Last year, West unsuccessfully ran for US president. During his campaign, a series of erratic public appearances and online postings by the rapper sparked concern and led Kardashian to speak out.

She said her husband had bipolar disorder, was a "brilliant but complicated person" and called for greater empathy surrounding his mental health from the public and the media.

Rumours of their divorce have been around for months amid speculation Kardashian had hired well-known lawyer Laura Wasser.

Page Six reported the filing was imminent in January, claiming West spent the festive season away from the California-based family at his Wyoming ranch.

Kanye West still has 'political aspirations'

The 45-year-old rapper and Yeezy designer had a disastrous bid to become President of the United States in 2020, with the outspoken star rumoured to have lost more than $14 million on his campaign.

Despite this, the 'Stronger' hitmaker hasn't been put off running for president in the future and believes God didn't feel it was his time.

Speaking to ABC’s Linsey Davis for ‘A Conversation With Ye’, the record producer - who legally changed his name to Ye - was asked if he has “future political aspirations," to which he replied: “Yes. Absolutely. You know, it’s… That time wasn’t in God’s time. I’m sure there’s lives that were saved. I’m sure God had me fall on the sword and say, ‘This is not the time,’ but you know, he’s a redeemer.”

In November, Kanye confessed that he "embarrassed" his then-wife Kim Kardashian with his failed presidential bid and his political views were "hard" on his marriage.

The hip-hop legend ran for office as an independent candidate but only appeared on the presidential ballot in 12 of the 50 states, and in his one and only press conference for his campaign, he admitted he and the reality star had considered an abortion when she fell pregnant with their first child, nine-year-old daughter North.

And reflecting on the period, the 'Jesus Walks' star admitted Kim "did not like" him affiliating himself with former President Donald Trump by wearing a red 'MAGA' cap and he had made them a "target" with his outspoken views.

He said in a 'Thanksgiving prayer' shared online: "Let's go with politics here. Good Lord, my wife did not like me wearing the red hat. Being a good wife, [Kim] wanted to protect me and our family.

"I made me and our family a target by not aligning with Hollywood's political stance and that was hard for our marriage.

"Then I ran for president without proper preparation and no allies on either side.

"I embarrassed my wife in the way that I presented information about our family during the one and only, thank God, press conference.

"All my dad had to say afterwards was, 'Write your speech next time son.'"

Kanye also admitted he had "spent money like crazy".

He told listeners: "It's the craziest thing I've done and I've done a lot of crazy things."

Kim filed for divorce from Kanye - with whom she also has Saint, six, Chicago, four, and three-year-old Psalm - in February.

Meanwhile, Kanye recalled being played "under heavy medication" after a manic episode in 2016 and it is something that still affects him.

He said: "Since then I went on and off the medication which left me susceptible to other episodes which my wife and family and fans have had to endure.

"My ego has a tendency to go past the threshold of being motivating and entertaining to just being overbearing. There are ways to show confidence without arrogance."

Adidas says it is reviewing its Yeezy partnership with Kanye West days after he showed a "White Lives Matter" T-shirt design at Paris Fashion Week.

The company did not mention the controversy but said "successful partnerships are rooted in mutual respect and shared values".

The rapper and fashion designer responded on Instagram, claiming the firm "stole" his designs.

That post now appears to have been deleted.

Adidas told the BBC it had made the decision to put the partnership under review after "repeated efforts to privately resolve the situation."

A spokesperson for the German sportswear company also said that the "Adidas Yeezy partnership is one of the most successful collaborations in our industry's history."

In his Instagram post, Mr West also used a strong expletive, adding "I AM ADIDAS."

Earlier this week, he was criticised after he presented a collection at Paris Fashion Week that included T-shirts with the slogan "White Lives Matter".

The phrase Black Lives Matter, which represents opposition to racism and police brutality, was widely used after George Floyd, an unarmed black man, was killed by a police officer in Minneapolis in the summer of 2020.

Vogue's Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, who is global fashion editor-at-large at the fashion magazine, was among those that criticised West over the T-shirts, calling the move "hugely irresponsible."

In response, Mr West responded by lashing out at Ms Karefa-Johnson and posted photographs of her mocking her appearance to his 17.9 million followers.

In a statement, Vogue said it "stands with Gabriella Karefa-Johnson".

"She was personally targeted and bullied. It is unacceptable. Now, more than ever, voices like hers are needed and in a private meeting with Ye today she once again spoke her truth in a way she felt best, on her terms."

Rapper Kanye West has said he intends to run for US president in 2024, despite facing several scandals over his recent behaviour.

The star, who has legally changed his name to Ye, posted a video of his campaign logo to social media, alongside the caption Ye 24.

He also claimed to have asked Donald Trump to be his running mate.

West previously ran for president in 2020, but that campaign flopped, attracting a meagre 70,000 votes.

His latest claims came in a video posted after West was spotted at Trump's Mar-A-Lago golf club earlier this week, accompanied by Nick Fuentes, a prominent white nationalist.

West said his request for a running mate left the former president, who recently launched his own re-election campaign, "most perturbed".

In a video titled Mar-A-Lago Debrief, West claimed: "Trump started basically screaming at me at the table, telling me I'm going to lose. Has that ever worked for anyone in history?"

The launch of West's campaign comes as the rapper faces a number of damaging controversies.

He provoked a storm of criticism after attending Paris Fashion Week in a T-shirt bearing the slogan "White Lives Matter" - a phrase adopted by white supremacists, who began using it in 2015 as a response to the Black Lives Matter movement.

West then claimed his critics were being paid by a secret cabal of Jewish people, a common trope of anti-Semitism.

As he continued to make anti-Semitic comments online and in television interviews, the 45-year-old was dropped by his talent agency, while fashion companies including Gap, Adidas and Balenciaga said they would no longer work with him.

The musician later commented that he had lost "2 billion dollars in one day".

Earlier this week, Rolling Stone magazine reported claims that West had used "porn, bullying and mind games" to create a "toxic environment" among Adidas employees working on his Yeezy brand shoes.

The company said on Thursday it had launched an independent investigation into the claims.

When West ran for president in 2020, he announced his campaign too late to appear on the ballot in at least six states.

He held only one rally, in which he broke down in tears as he discussed abortion, and funded two television adverts. In the end, he was only listed as a candidate in 12 states.

For his 2024 bid, the rapper suggested he had enlisted alt-right commentator Milo Yiannopoulos as his campaign manager.

A former editor at the right wing publication Breitbart, Yiannopoulos was largely shunned by mainstream conservatives after a video emerged in 2017 of him appearing to condone paedophilia. He said the comments were "gallows humour" and stated his "disgust" at the sexual abuse of minors.

Most recently, Yiannopolous worked as an intern for Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Kanye West has been ordered to pay Kim Kardashian $200,000 (£167,000) per month in child support in a divorce settlement.

The former rapper and reality TV star will share joint custody of their four children.

Kardashian filed for divorce in 2021, after eight years with West, who has legally changed his name to Ye.

It comes after several companies cut ties with Ye over controversies including antisemitic comments.

Both parties were declared legally single in March, with Kardashian also dropping "West" from her last name.

Issues around the division of property and custody of their children were resolved in court documents filed on Tuesday.

The two parties should consult with each other on major decisions about their children's welfare, the documents state.

Expenses for the children's security, school and college will be shared.

In addition, Ye is expected to pay $200,000 a month in child support - which the New York Post reported is because the children will spend the majority of their time with Kardashian.

The couple have four children: North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3.

In several statements submitted earlier, Kardashian, 42, had said she "very much" wanted the marriage to be ended, adding that this would "help Kanye to accept" that the relationship was over.

Ye, 45, had previously fought against the separation.

He has faced controversy in recent months, and has been dropped by several brands, including Adidas, Gap and Balenciaga.

The rapper provoked widespread criticism earlier this year after attending Paris Fashion Week wearing a t-shirt bearing a "White Lives Matter" slogan - a phrase often used by white supremacists.

He then claimed his critics were being paid by a secret cabal of Jewish people, a common trope of antisemitism.

Earlier this week, Ye announced his intention to run for US president in 2024.

He previously ran in 2020, but gained just 70,000 votes.
