He explained the decision in the post match interview.
Talked about Zalmi’s experienced players being Kami and Malik and how brilliant they are against spin. So they kept Umer out who is a key player for them. And that’s why he didn’t bowl himself in the power play.

actually bowling Jordan 19th over was a very brave decision as acknowledged by Danny. It was always going to be a below par total to defend. They needed 20 more.
Just like Sohail tanvir for Rawalpindi rams he always promote himself when the stage is set. I knew today i wont be seeing him batting up the order.

2) Keeps Umar Khan out of the team, just so he stays out of contention for the national side.
3) Amir Yamin, one of Pakistan's best lower order batsman, has been sitting out because this pseudo all-rounder sees him as a direct competition.
Imad All Rounder is basically an epitome of shamelessness.

He can't bat vs. half decent bowlers so only cashes in on weak sides.

Dean Jones never was the one calling the shots.
Even at ISLU, Misbah has been the one leading everything and calling all the shots.
Imad is clueless.
Fact 1: Cricket is no football where coaches run the show. Usually it's the captain who is allowed to choose playing 11 of his own choice. Not to mention Deano took charge of KK just recently, while Pseudo All-Rounder has been part & parcel of the squad for quite some time, so it's no rocket science why Deano would take back seat, until or unless things started going south.
Fact 2: KK won the 1st match despite pathetic bowling by Arshad, so All Rounder got the opportunity to continue with the "winning combination". But now that his legendary captaincy has been exposed, I'm sure Dean Jones will get in on the act and at least get one of Umar/Yamin into the team. Hopefully both.

Imad Wasim isn't going to captain Pakistan. That is very clear. It's better Babar takes over as captain asap.
I din't know why everyone is acting like Imad is worrying about his place in the team.
Have a look at his t20i performances over the past few years. Along with Babar and Shaheen (who has only recently become phenomenal), he is the first name on the team sheet.
Those who say Umer Khan could replace him are the same ones complaining when PSL is used to select players for the national team.

Has overtaken Hafeez as the most selfish cricketer in the country. There can really be no other rational explanation for this. However, if you are actually feeling threatened by him then why even play him and draw attention by ignoring him.

Probably the only highlight for you on a very bad day. Still believe Shan is the worst captain in the PSL? How does he compare to Shadab, Imad, Sammy, Sohail Akhtar...

Exactly. That's the problem with Shadab as well. Thinks he's too good and then overdoes it. Like today, 9 overs a match, he came one down and slowed down the run rate - never recovered from there.
Imad and Shadab are cut from the same cloth of arrogance and thinking too highly of themselves.

Ah so thats the argument you are going to stick with for now. It's a t20 fluke and doesn't mean anything. I wonder why you are following the tournament so intently if whoever does well is just 'fluking'. Or does that argument only apply to Multan / Shan.
Anyone can clearly see he doesn't have at his disposal the bowling talent of some of the other captains like Imad and even Shadab yet he has done well.
Unlike the other two, he does not have an ego and thinks about the game situation smartly.

Not too sure about that, I believe KK were going to stick with Imad right from the beginning from what I've heard.

No. Salman Iqbal and Wasim Akram themselves said in a press conference held before the PSL that they preferred consistency hence did not feel like changing Imad after he was their set captain. They did however inform Babar about this preference and he had no objection to it.

Babar should be made captain, if they have to utilize their bench strength to the full potential.
Wicket-keeper was their weak link but walton is playing better than expected so batting department is almost fine.
Right now their problem lies in the bowling department & that cannot be solved until Imad is captain because he is useless as a bowler and occupying a 5th bowler's spot. Imad could be replaced with Usama Mir because at least he is a wicket taking option.

I agree. The exposure would have been good for Babar before the T20 WC as a bonus and although he isnt the best when it comes to decisions and strategies, he still couldn't have been as brainless as Imad has at times proven to be.
Some stupid bowling changes,especially where Umer Khan is concerned and even yesterday he could have taken a chance with Ifthikar or thought outside the box when Dunk was going crazy.
There is nothing special about Imad's captaincy that one would ignore the national captain over him. He has been quite mediocre in terms of decision making as well as not completely consistent with his performances.

Imad could stay captaining Karachi for PSL6. Babar should be traded to Peshawar\Lahore and made captain.

Considering Jordan stopped him in the 19th, I highly, highly doubt that the greats in their prime would have struggled!
Either way, Ifthikhar is a more regular bowler than delport, but imad chose the latter to bowl and one thing is certain, Ifthikhar definitely had the advantage of taking the ball away from dunk.
