Moeen ali, trudged off disappointingly for a single on the penultimate ball of a nail biting over bowled magnificently by debutant Ameer Jamal, Moeen was expecting Jamal to miss his length once more as its very difficult to bowl those wide yorker with recurring accuracy but to his dismay Jamal did the "Kamal" held both his nerves and length the fate of the match was petty much sealed.

A new star has been added into what is already looking a lethal bowling combination probably the best in the world however Pakistan Achilles heel , the brittle middle order problem has only got worsened, with ICC T20 WC breathing down its neck time is fast running out.

Boy, What a cracker jacker of the series this is turning out to be specially the last two encounters have been sizzling thrillers. I wouldn't be surprised if you all were feeling breathless in that last over yesterday. where Pakistan batting has failed its the bowling which has bailed them out and saved from blushes.

Agreed, this is not the first choice English batting but I wonder what difference even they would have made on these low and slow pitches which is such a shame. The short sightedness is too all too apparent and it does hurt Pakistan more then England as true Pitches would have provided confidence booster to much vaunted middle order and also psyched them up for high scores.

Coming to the changes made in the batting discipline. Shan Masood has looked as comfortable as fish out of water in this format also having third accumulator is really not the solution for Pakistan batting woes for though it might work for insomniac. Haider mistimed pulls compliment his luck.

Ifti always promises 1 crore loan which you desperately but what finally gets credited is a mere 10 lakh, his bowling though has been a revelation.

Thanks fully they have finally realized that Khushdil does fit into this team splendidly as the 12th man. To cut the ling story short if you thought Asia cup has exposed ugly underbelly of Pakistan batting then this series has given the impression that they are scrapping at the bottom

Many expert believe that the Famous Opening pair of Babar and Rizwan needs to separated and rather then hoping for miracles in the middle order let them come down and try out combinations in the Powerplay. However everyone realize that personal interest is above the the teams interest and that's the only experiment Pakistan never does.

Pakistan would do well not to play both Babar and Rizwan in the upcoming tri series and throw rest of the batting in deep water to see who will sail through otherwise Pakistan batting will depend more on prayers and less on evidence.

This management has always prioritized immediate objectives over any long term goals, Winning is very crucial for financial health but had they displayed a little more imagination and ability to make tough calls they might already have two major tournaments under their belt.

Do they really want to mess up with the third one?? well the answer is Pakistan cricket has survived to live up to another day just keep breathing

Great write up

Spot on.

I was a skeptic of the 7 match t20i series. I may still be!

But this one has had some great cricket.

Some dramas/mini stories emerging from play- like the very, very un-Pakistani opening conundrum where we live in a bizarro universe where Pakistan openers bat too long and score too many runs and the fan are upset by it!

Mark Wood, Naseem & Rauf lighting it up. Been quite a good series of matches.

Goodpoi ts raised, which are clear to us the fans and also to themanagement throgh the media and ex player criticism they face but are relunctant to fix. I was surprised that Jamal was given a chance, others were the forced changes they made in last match due to Khushdil not showing an ounce of performamce, and Qadir expensive and he was only replaced due to Shadab's return to finess.

What an amazing series this had turned out to be thriller classic climax everything so far might lose appetite for wt20 if the last two games are like previous one

Still 2 matches to go and lots of possibilities!

Thanks mate,

Amazing series indeed and excellent advertisement of Pakistan cricket. The appetite for watching Pakistan cricket actually keeps on increasing because of the exciting brand of cricket they are delivering, Team spirit looks very good

You really want them to perform well on the biggest stage and batting will need urgent fix, hope Pitches for rest of the games are true surfaces

Agree with the idea of not letting Babar and Rizwan bat for the next 2 matches to see who will sink or swim. On a side note, I'm not sure why year after year so many careless mistakes are made in running between the wickets and in fielding. Are the players just not coachable?

These two and the Tri series, Who is the solution for the middle order? no one has an answer as yet
No one can do well in Australia without having a very capable and confident middle order.

So, why not explore the possibility of different openers while Babar and Rizwan take care of middle order

Your views now.

It has been a great series.

I think this is the best bilateral T20 series I have encountered.

Same problems after the Asia cup, dropped catches, and crap middle order. I’d have shoaib Malik and fakhar in, the current middle order is shocking. Like butcher was saying on comms, Pak would take Ben duckett in an instant and he can’t even make the England World Cup team. Such poor players we have in the middle order, with strike rates not adequate for this format in current times.
