Do you guys think he can beat McGregor? Or is McGregor overrated?

Khabib basically leaving his chin out in the open for some of the best strikers in the business is like Viv Richards refusing to wear a helmet to some of the fastest bowlers of his time. It's dangerous, unnecessary and not something you should try at home. But man does it send a message to everyone involved.
Daegestani Dangar runs through another bum who embarrassed him along the way and people are doing a bhangra over it, for someone with over 26+ fights he has not fought even fought one opponent that could remotely be considered a threat. He reminds me a lot of Triple G who was running through fighters in a weak 160 lb division before getting a gift against Jacobs a top 3 fighter at MW and then struggling against Alvarez. He can play the victim but in the past he had many chances to face Ferguson but failed to even manage a weight cut, this is the least you expect from a so called world class operator and people think he is the most feared and ruthless name in the division lmao
Conor had been occupied facing Floyd so it's laughable to suggest he'd not want to face a guy whom he holds several physical and technical advantages (you make a case for Ferguson but Khabib LOL), in fact even in the build to the Floyd fight he had repeatedly stated he wants to face Khabib in Russia. Now I am more convinced then ever this fight will happen after the recent publicity stunt and having Khabib main event UFC 223 against a bum when Joanna Champion / Thug Rose should have ended the event; they are trying to give Khabib as much exposure possible in the build to the Conor / Khabib fight which is sure to happen.
It makes me sick that Khabib main-evented though, we had the greatest female MMA fighter who ever lived in Joanna Champion go at it against Thug Rose in a superfight at straw-weight in fact both can be considered among the best P4P fighters male or female. And they delivered on so many fronts, it disgusts me they did not go on last. It's an insult to put Khabib in any P4P top 10, you have Rose who has just beaten the best P4P fighter not once but twice! and you got people advocating the greatness of Daegestani Dangar who has he even beaten, his fans go on as if he has run through Ferguson, Conor, Alvarez, Diaz, Aldo, Mendes and Hollowayand people call Conor over rated who has beaten elite fighters, I tell you what's overly rated, the IQ of Khabib fans. He's a good fighter don't get me wrong but you need to prove it against some of the best in your division not bums.
I get what you are saying but if you think RDA who was number three in the division before fighting khabib, or Barboza who was number three in the division before fighting khabib are bums, then that shows your IQ and anything else you say after that is irrelevant.
Both were threats, and at the time people said they will smash khabib. But it was the opposite and they were absolutely ragdolled.
If you actually watched UFC beyond cards with mcgreggor on it, you would know both those guys are very good fighters.
Lets not forget Khabib was set to fight Ferguson, so he isnt ducking anyone.
Also laughable at Triple G struggling against Canelo
Canelo is world class so ofcourse it wasnt a walk in the park.
I dont think it should have been a draw, but you can make arguments as to why either of them could have won.
Also, if Khabib is unprofessional for a failed weight cut, dont also must critisize Canelo who had too much "tainted beef" which cancelled the rematch
Btw this was the fourth time Khabib vs Ferguson got cancelled.
Khabib pulled out twice, ferguson pulled out twice.
You should watch UFC beyond Dagestani Dangar mauling bums, for a guy with more then 25 fights he doesn't have a career defining victory. And you are getting desperate holding onto RDA and Barboza, Khabibs fans are not famous for their intelligence. It's not others fault he pulled out of the fights with Ferguson twice but himself and its not others fault he couldn't be a professional
Anyone who is suggesting that GGG did not stuggled against Canelo has brain damage, I think the point about proving yourself against the best went over your head; am of the view a draw was correct, neither man did enough but for all the hype behind GGG he should have KO'd Canelo, likewise Daegastani bum specialist has looked great because he has fought inferior opposition, when you face the elite names then you wont have it so easy so I find it hilarious that anyone would do a bhangra over Khabib when he is yet to be tested
On the fight itself, it's the first time I've seen Khabib struggle to take someone down, although he was still winning the stand ups which was a surprise since Iaquinta is a good puncher. I always assumed no one could stop Khabib's takedowns, but we saw yesterday that it can be done. Although how much of that was because Khabib wasn't that bothered about going to the ground I don't know. In the final round he did what he usually does, swarm in flailing then doing the takedown on the back of that, but in the middle rounds he was hanging back for some reason. Maybe to show off his boxing?

Interesting views, but you are the first person I've seen questioning Khabib's pedigree, let's not forget it's the professional commentators like Joe Rogan who have been describing him as possibly the best pound for pound fighter in UFC. Did you hold those views before yesterday's fight?
As for Conor, don't really want to hear about that bum any more, his boxing money maker belonged in a circus, and his disgraceful actions in New York led to three fighters missing the card due to glass injuries. You want to talk about bums we can start there.
Yes, exactly. He knew he was bossing the fight and it was basically a done deal that he's the new champ after round two. However, with Al putting everything towards his defense and offering no offensive pressure, Khabib knew he could get away with treating him as a sparring partner. It's good because he gets the experience of fighting five rounds under his belt.
This is a poor post. Khabib has absolutely mauled everyone they have put up against him. Fighting Khabib is bad for business as far as someone like Conor is considered because he knows that he can't win against this freak of a grappler and Khabib is not a mainstream name in the fighting business either. No wonder Conor has been dodging Khabib for ages.
Barboza is an elite fighter, the only one questioning their IQ should be people who think he's a bum, lol.
Rogan does not consider him the best P4P, thats reserved for Mighty Mouse or Jon Bones Jones.

lol like I said ferguson withdrew twice as well. Why bag on khabib so hard about it only?
You are so biased against a particular fighter you can't be objective as a fighting fan.
Also, you seem to think I am some khabib fan boy when I am not. I see Tony beating Khabib. But Khabib beats Mcgreggor.

Am not questioning his potential but am not going to jump on the hype train so easily, I was saying the same prior to his recent fights. For someone with over 25+ fights he doesn't have a career defining win and was just practically handed a world championship, would you not agree that ones pedigree needs to be proven against the absolute best. It's funny that Conor is being called a bum when he has one of the greatest resumes in MMA history, he is an absolute clown but I would appreciate objectivity beyond that.
Conor is a bum because he acted like one. His resume was great when he was an active UFC fighter, but that was two years ago, since then he's been everywhere except the Octagon. When he signs to fight Ferguson or Khabib we can start talking about him as a serious fighter again, right now he's nothing but an embarrassment to the sport with his drunken antics out of the octagon.
We're talking about the fighter here not everything beyond that which I agree with but he can hardly be criticised for chasing that big pay day from Floyd the UFC don't pay no where near as well, he has made sums which he'd not have accumulated over an entire UFC career twice over and sits in a very compatible position, others in the division can take the moral high ground but they'd give an arm and leg to make the same money in boxing, in fact many have been pushing for similar paths.
I see why people would have an issue with him because he should just retire instead of being inactive. But when you hold all the cards and are the A side you can afford to do what you like and fight when you want to. All the recent controversies are just hype for the inevitable fight with Khabib, like I said before you need to build fights and the UFC especially are desperate to milk very dollar so I don't buy Dana's PC stance.
I think Khabib is a great great fighter in terms of grappling but his stand up skills are lacking. And this fight showed that which is why it got so many mixed reviews.
The point people are trying to make is that if you put him up against a smart elite striker like Mcgregor or Ferguson then they will cause him issues in STRIKING.
If you add the fact that Fergusson can submit you from bottom position then it makes more an even more interesting match up with the bets leaning towards Tony.
In terms of McGregor, Khabib will not stand up against him unless he is crazy, he will go straight for the take downs. If McGregor does not get taken down in the first two rounds then I believe Khabib will be knocked out due to his lack of stand up defence. If he does get taken down and mauled then cardio will come into play and severely limit Mcgregors ability to find those openings while striking in later rounds.
The thing to note is that Khabib will usually take guys down in the first round or 2, maul them to the point where they are exhausted (remember, wrestling is way more taxing on your cardio then standup).
Once they are exhausted then he will stand up and fight with them (Barbosa for example). If a fighter is exhausted then he will struggle to execute even if he is an elite striker. Thats Khabibs usual game plan.

Ferguson should be responsible to but we are talking about Khabib here why does he get a pass for his mistakes ?
Just because he is your favourite it does not mean he can't be criticised, your fandom is preventing you from being objective to be honest.
Khabib has a better chance against Tony then Conor. Styles make fights, Conor holds every physical advantage over Khabib so it wont be easy for him to take Conor down who also has a great defence. Khabib also leaves himself too open; against a striker of Conor's calibre that's very dangerous.
I don't always get it right but generally I think most will respect my views on combat sport on PP. But in this instance should I really be questioning my IQ when people are calling Barboza an elite fighter, a guy who has never been a world champion and lost every time he stepped up. Furthermore, he went the distance with Khabib when Ferguson put him away in 2 rounds, Khabib's best win is RDA which wasn't even a world championship fight but for a guy with more then 25+ fights you'd think he has more to show to warrant a position in the P4P ranking.
He fought Floyd so it's a joke to say he had been dodging him when he has taken on so many challenges during his career, Khabib just main-evented and with the main stream coverage of the feud between Conor / Khabib the fight is sure to happen in the future more then ever; it's business, you need to build these fights up and the UFC has been struggling beyond 2016 so why not milk every dollar out of this
You bigging up Conor is the joke here, guy hasn't fought for 2 years and would be taken down by either Tony or Khabib unless Conor gets a KO 1st round. Conor has weak cardio, a weak ground game and is prone to submission so bigging him up when his last fight was against an ageing Aldo who was TKO'd twice in 2 fights by Holloway doesn't make much sense. Tony would definitely submit Conor imo, tough call bw Tony and Khabib though
No one is denying that Tony will be Khabib's biggest challenge (and vice versa). However, while Tony has the edge standing up, Khabib is peerless on the ground so it's going to be close.
Not sold in McGregor. He's fought one LW in his entire career and everyone can see that he's been dodging Khabib for months. Unless Khabib suddenly turns into an idiot and walks into a Conor jab in the first couple of rounds, I don't see how Khabib loses this.
Bro, Khabib has fought more LWs in the past few months than Conor has in his entire career. Khabib is also far, far better than Conor on the floor, has the better tank, stronger chin (debatable) and has the aura of invincibility that comes with a 26-0 record and a ridiculous number of consecutive won rounds.
What advantages does Conor have other than at striking? What happens if Khabib merely stops hanging his chin out like that and sticks to his grappling game? Conor is toast. Khabib is the worst case scenario for Conor and almost everyone agrees. Tony will be a much closer fight for either of them.
Khabib's 26-0 is iconic on its own. His 30+ round wins are iconic on its own. Not his fault that his elite opponents either keep getting injured or are too afraid to fight him in the Octagon.
Am not bigging him up and don't need to, we're discussing Khabib here. Aldo was coming off a nearly 20 fight win streak, it was a world championship fight and then he got destroyed in 10 seconds; in fact if you check the odds for that fight you'd see that it was a pick em so it is laughable to derail that win based on his 2 defeats a couple of years later lmao not even his biggest critics would take it that far so am sorry but can't take anything else you say serious

Personally i am excited about the LW Division in general, 3 of the greatest LW in history IMO are ready to go to war with each other if everything goes according to plan. I think it should go Conor vs Khabib next, then winner vs Tony.
Tony vs Khabib would be huge fun, btw what do u think about Tony vs McG? Tony to win by submission, right?
I don't think it is fair that the druggie is ranked above Khabib in UFC's own P4P ranking
Jon Jones is incredible from a technical/talent/fight IQ perspective. He's a much more well-rounded fighter than Khabib. I don't think Jones would ever fall prey to some of the things McGregor or Poirier did.
Drugs and whatever else he's gotten himself into tarnish things but the guy can fight.
Khabib needs to fight Tony Ferguson and then he would be considered the goat lightweight.
He's already GOAT lightweight. Who is near him?
He needs to fight Tony. They have tried 4 times but it still hasn't happened. Ferguson is on a 12 fight win streak so hes clearly one of the best light weights in the world and imo if khabib wants to silence all the doubters he has to beat Ferguson.
Khabib is 28-0. He needs to fight Tony yes I agree, but for some reason if fight doesn't happen and both their careers end today then Khabib will still be the GOAT.
There will always be doubters who kept doubting any person for X,y,z reasons. Even if Khabib beats Tony someone might come up with another criteria he needs to check to be considered GOAT.
If Tony wins then all the above goes up for toss.
Multi weight champions and record breaking streaks in world championship fights / title defences etc are all ignored in favour of an abstract streak taken literally, only the LGBT community and religous nationalists have this opinion. Not really fight fans.
At the end of the day what does 28-0 even mean? He coulda fought 28 bums, in superior forms of combat your legacy is determined based on your record in title fights for the world championship. Look at GSP and Silva what they accomplished, Khabib isn't close to either of those yet so the best ever talk is only from blokes who have a fetish for him
GSP and Silva are in different weight class. We are not talking about their weight class.
Khabibs competition for being GOAT in his class is with Conor, Tony and maybe Aldo(though the way aldo was schooled by Conor, he won't get much votes).
Out of the above I think Khabib is the best. If Tony Vs Khabib happen and Tony wins then it will be a different story, if it doesn't happen then Khabib compared to his peers will be the best.
Jon Jones is incredible from a technical/talent/fight IQ perspective. He's a much more well-rounded fighter than Khabib. I don't think Jones would ever fall prey to some of the things McGregor or Poirier did.

Records in title fights in an individual division:
GSP - 12-2-0
Silva - 11-2-0
Khabib currently - 3-0-0 , the bar is low at lightweight so he stands a great chance at making a case for his status as the best lightweight
I think khabib will go down as the best light weight. I mean how do you beat him? there is no one in LW that can wrestle with him and his stand up game is decent. I think someone with a strong sambo or wrestling background would have a chance at beating him but there's no one in lightweight at the moment.
