For me the most annoying fans are the IU ones who try to defend the constant selection of old players.
 
Umar Akmal has reverse problem of Shezad, UA cannot play spin, Shezad cannot play pace... At the end both are mediocre at international level because they never overcome their deficiencies...Deep down problem is not mental but there game is flawed, which keeps getting exposed at highest level...People feeding these guys that you are talent, as if they don't need to work on their game, that's a fundamental disillusion by fans and more importantly in their mind... After 6/7 years, there weakness are still at same level, they will never be successful at international level, whenever they are thrown out, they never iron out their weakness :facepalm:

This has been said time and time again but unless they realize this (which they won't) it's pretty pointless.

Problem is fans and selectors keep wanting them back, without seeing any evidence of improvement... My point is they are not international class...

Pakistan has developed culture of playing non-international class players for too long, mediocracy is the standard, its a vicious cycle...Hafeez, Malik, Misbah, Sarfraz, Azhar, Shafiq non of them are LOI players, they are all one dimensional, non of them can play pace, none of them ever improve in their ability to strike seamers, but they keep coming back for one reason or the other, now you can add UA and Shezad in the list...There is a reason we are no 8 team, I have no doubt that we will remain below 6 for long time :acp

This is true but unless we invest more into the grassroots level and into the domestic circuit we'll only produce mediocre players with maybe a couple of gems here and there.
 
Yasir and Tanvir have made it so we aren't completely embarrassed in the end result, it could have easily been a 60-70 run loss.

The old players don't need to be defended, their winners medals do all the talking for them.
