I know this team doesn’t get much attention, but alongside Real Madrid, it’s been my team since 1987 — so I’m starting this thread.

We kicked off the season with a win, beating Everton 1–0 last night at Elland Road. The penalty was soft, but overall, I think we deserved the victory.

This season is all about survival in the Premier League. Next up is a tough challenge against Arsenal. @Amjid Javed @topspin @IMMY69

What do you guys think, can we survive? @KingKhanWC @aboveandbeyond

I tipped Burnley, Sunderland and Brentford to go down. Wolves and west ham look like they will be in a relegation scrap as well. So yeah Leeds do have chance of staying up

Not sure about Sunderland. They have spent a lot of money and brought in some quality players.

I’m not taking Leeds lightly on Sunday. Winning your first game is a great start.

Leeds could survive the relegation race. Brentford look like they are in trouble!

You are the only person I have met in my life who supports Leeds United. LOL!

Nice.

You definitely need more strength in depth and more quality in Attack to avoid the drop.

Last night. You played well, but without the controversial penalty, Leeds didn't look like scoring.

I was going to comment . I watched the match last night , wow one heck of an atmosphere backed up by the players with serious energy . Leeds were at pace throughout with some lovely football , only lacking calm and clinical finishing .

Ellend Road has always been a tough place to visit with the team is confident. This could bring back the old days of cantona and yeboah in a few years. I think this is the rise of Leeds Utd , will stay up if they play anywhere near the opening game . Leeds has a huge fanbase and decent owners .

We have Calvert-Lewin who is quality provided he stays fit. And there is medical pending tomorrow for Noah Akafor from AC Milan and we will probably by another forward so the attack will be much better in next matches. And our best defender in Jaka Bijol will be available against Arsenal so thinks looking better.

@IAJ, I believe you are from Norway. How come you ended up supporting Leeds? Did any event make you a fan of Leeds United?

I am also missing good old days, and with 49ers in charge I think we are going in right direction.

Yes, in Norway. We are 5 brothers. The eldest have been Liverpool fan since 1982, the other elder than me are Newcastle fan. I started liking Leeds back in late 90s. The younger ones support ManU and Arsenal.

And Leeds United have a huge fan following in Norway. Many of the fans are in their 70s now since they have supported the team since 1970s when Leeds was at their real best.

I see.

Didn't know Leeds have so many fans in Norway. That's very random considering Leeds is not a very successful team.

Anyway, I am personally a Liverpool fan.

Leeds were up there as one of the better sides in Europe during the late 90s.
