I know this team doesn’t get much attention, but alongside Real Madrid, it’s been my team since 1987 — so I’m starting this thread.

We kicked off the season with a win, beating Everton 1–0 last night at Elland Road. The penalty was soft, but overall, I think we deserved the victory.

This season is all about survival in the Premier League. Next up is a tough challenge against Arsenal. @Amjid Javed @topspin @IMMY69

What do you guys think, can we survive? @KingKhanWC @aboveandbeyond

I tipped Burnley, Sunderland and Brentford to go down. Wolves and west ham look like they will be in a relegation scrap as well. So yeah Leeds do have chance of staying up

Not sure about Sunderland. They have spent a lot of money and brought in some quality players.

I’m not taking Leeds lightly on Sunday. Winning your first game is a great start.

Leeds could survive the relegation race. Brentford look like they are in trouble!

You are the only person I have met in my life who supports Leeds United. LOL!

Nice.

You definitely need more strength in depth and more quality in Attack to avoid the drop.

Last night. You played well, but without the controversial penalty, Leeds didn't look like scoring.

I was going to comment . I watched the match last night , wow one heck of an atmosphere backed up by the players with serious energy . Leeds were at pace throughout with some lovely football , only lacking calm and clinical finishing .

Ellend Road has always been a tough place to visit with the team is confident. This could bring back the old days of cantona and yeboah in a few years. I think this is the rise of Leeds Utd , will stay up if they play anywhere near the opening game . Leeds has a huge fanbase and decent owners .

We have Calvert-Lewin who is quality provided he stays fit. And there is medical pending tomorrow for Noah Akafor from AC Milan and we will probably by another forward so the attack will be much better in next matches. And our best defender in Jaka Bijol will be available against Arsenal so thinks looking better.

@IAJ, I believe you are from Norway. How come you ended up supporting Leeds? Did any event make you a fan of Leeds United?

I am also missing good old days, and with 49ers in charge I think we are going in right direction.

Yes, in Norway. We are 5 brothers. The eldest have been Liverpool fan since 1982, the other elder than me are Newcastle fan. I started liking Leeds back in late 90s. The younger ones support ManU and Arsenal.

And Leeds United have a huge fan following in Norway. Many of the fans are in their 70s now since they have supported the team since 1970s when Leeds was at their real best.

I see.

Didn't know Leeds have so many fans in Norway. That's very random considering Leeds is not a very successful team.

Anyway, I am personally a Liverpool fan.

Leeds were up there as one of the better sides in Europe during the late 90s.

What a comprehensive win against the title contenders Chelsea. 3-1 at home. :)

Leed should keep playing 3-5-2 as we almost surprised City with that formation and now comforatably defeating Chelsea.

Elland Road has always been a tough place to visit, hence I was stated Leeds will stay up this season early on.

Leeds needs a new stadium, 60k seater.

Really hope we do good business in January, that is needed to stay up. Just look at Sunderland, a complete transformed team from championship days last season.

And a good match coming up on Saturday against Liverpool. Probably best time to meet Liverpool as you guys are struggling for momentum. Funnily we meet you again in January already at Anfield🤭

Its going to be tough for Liverpool too this weekend but the 2nd half yesterday showed a lot of positives. Sunderland play very good football, players make the pass with others always near in open spaces, meaning they are very drilled, players connect and have a clear plan of play.

If you score the first goal it will be tough for us , the crowd will become even louder, one of the best atmospheres in the league. I may be at the game if I can get a ticket. If LFC score first, its a different outfit which can then dominate. Its a 5.30pm kick off, much better for us than if it was 12.30.

Good luck to Leeds tonight . It will be a good game again imo . Calwert was on fire but doesn’t start.

Statement win needed from Liverpool. Another Shaky performance again and the trip to Emirates next will a be a daunting task.

Slot has no real style . He’s fortunate to have elite players who are managing to get wins . Under Klopp we dominated top teams at home , smaller teams were being destroyed.
Credit to Leeds they fight hard and will defo stay up .

Play like this at Emirates next game and it will be Lambs to Slaughter

Crazy match against Newcastle today. The end result is a bit hurting but winning away against Newcastle is not easy. I thought Leeds played really well the first 30 minutes of the match and then Newcastle started to dominate a more but Leeds were well in the match.

I would blame Farke who just waited too long to bring on fresh legs and our goalie Perri is just not good enough for PL. I would play Darlow over him any day. He is just too slow and the last shot from Barnes should have been saved.

Your take on the match @Geordie Ahmed ?

Honestly, I have absolutely no idea how to analyse that game, I spent most of it frustrated and annoyed with how poor we were

I was impressed with Leeds, tbf you've been in great form, prior to today your last loss was a last minute away to City at the end of November and then the same tonight. You are in great form and I think Farke has done a good job

My initial thoughts are a draw would have been a fair result but obviously I'm delighted we got all 3 points
