Mashrafe Mortaza should be given a farewell ODI in Bangladesh - Thought?

To all the cricket fans out here, should Mashrafe Mortaza be given a farewell ODI in his home condition in Bangladesh ? What's your opinion on that ?

When does Bangladesh play next ODI in home condition ? I think for whatever Mashrafe has done for Bangladesh cricket, he should leave after playing in home condition. An ODI match dedicated to Mashrafe Mortaza. Can BCB invite a team to Bangladesh for a short ODI series, say 2/3 match ODI series ?

Also post retirement, I think Bangladesh should appoint him as advisor/mentor. His input will be valuable for Bangladesh cricket going forward. He has made Bangladesh a really competitive side with very limited resources and maximizing it.

I am not one for those wanting farewell matches. Just announce it before the series that it will be your last.
But it's a bit tricky when you announce it before WC's. If your team tends to do poorly, your career tends to end on a sour note. Younis, Misbah, Imran, Sachin, Cook got a fitting farewell while Afridi, Gili, Dravid, Laxman, Jayawardene, Kallis bowed out quietly. So it's not a big deal. If the board wants to give him a fitting farewell match, then it's good otherwise it shouldn't become a culture and part of a demand by the players.
But I think with the contribution this guy has made, BCB can arrange a solitary ODI against Ireland or Zim or even Scotland and help him give a sendoff. Although I don't think Mashrafe would be wanting a match with all eyes on him.

But what he has done for Bangladesh cricket overshadows these things & I don't think he deserves much criticism. I was talking about just a match for the fans, that's it.

You are correct. Mehedi needs to improve though. He is much more effective in Test than he is in ODI.

Don't think USA can do that in cricket. Baseball is different; every ball is a full-toss in baseball. Cricket is much more complex.
