What does faqih means?
Wonder where you heard that?
Faqih is someone who has fiqh.
Fiqh in Arabic/Islamic terminology: deep understanding of a matter.
Its important to note that fiqh is not the same as 'ilm.
'Ilm: Knowledge
'Aalim: Someone who has abundant knowledge of a topic.
A faqih in the deen may not necessarily be an 'aalim.
Similarly, an 'aalim may not necessarily be a faqih.

NB:
The above is how these terms are used and understood in Islamic terminology.
This may NOT be how they are used in colloquial Urdu, and I have also not gone into the 'literal' Urdu or Arabic meanings of these words as that doesn't really add any value.
It means "I'll put my life on the line."What does "mein apni jaan ki baazi laga doonga"means

For the life of me I can't figure out what Muneeron per alqaf, ras chakey, duawkat etc are.
Hmmm,.... let me try.
"rass" means "juice" in our language, "chhakkey" is the plural form of "chhakka", meaning the six hit in cricket. So "Rass chhakkey" could well mean a six hit of a juicy full-toss, no?
Red Devil What´s your take?

Opposite of maqbooza.
The Indians have it, so it is Maqbooza Kashmir. We want it, so it is also Matlooba Kashmir.
Matlooba number se jawaab mausool nahi horaha

Yup, pretty sure it does.
what does prosi mean ? is it prosi or parosi![]()
More than illness, it would be disease. There's a subtle difference, but disease is a more accurate translation.
What does the word Sehra mean? (Not the Dulha one).
If it's spelled Saad-Hay-Ray-Alif-Hamza, it means desert.
However, if it is spelled the same as the Dulha wala sehra (with a Seen instead of Saad, and no Hamza), it still means the Dulha wala sehra, but used to denote someone being responsible for an achievement.
For instance, saying that the credit for creating Pakistan goes to Jinnah, we would say "Pakistan banaanay ka sehra Jinnah ke sar pe hai," which literally means he has the sehra on his head, but the meaning is he is to be given credit for it.
Ok thanks! I didn't know you called desert Sahra in Urdu.

I believe it's of Arabic origin. So the Sahara Desert as it is called in English is just The Sahra by rights.
You can use Dasht if you're a Persiophile.

Maqsoos - it is Makhsoos, means Specific,
Birharvi or Birhavi (Agar dono alag words hain toh dono kay alag-2 btadein)

Manfi not munfi - manfi means negative
Kaukaab (e.g. Kaukaab sey utra/aaya shehzada) - it is Kookaf - usually use to resemble beauty or e.t.c
Naa-akhbat andesh -
Muneeron par ahqaf/ahkaaf
but there is difference between SAHARA AND SAHRA.. Sahra is desert right. but SAHARA means having help of some one.
Dasht is mostly used for bleak , lone .
guess am late![]()
You're right on the Sahra/Sahara difference in Urdu, but in the case of the Sahara desert it's obvious that the name derives from Sahra, and just gets transliterated into English as Sahara.
Dasht is desert in Farsi, and although we've come to associate it with bleak wilderness (Faiz Sb's Dasht-e-Tanhai comes to mind,) I don't know if the connotation holds in Farsi too. They have deserts such as the Dasht-e-Lut and Dasht-e-Kavir in Iran.
ah Dasht in fasri then it is OK. but in pure URDU, dasht shows 2 meanings thats why i pointed Out.
btw, Epic example of Faiz . haha,

Can you please tell me how to say subject/topic in Urdu?
Mazmoon also means essay. "Miswaak kai fawaaid par paanch sau alfaaz ka mazmoon likhiain".Mauzoo. Unwaan is also used, but that is more the title than it is the subject or topic.
Mazmoon (not to be confused with Mamoon) is subject too, but that is used for subjects at school like English, Urdu, Math etc, and that's probably not what you're looking for here, as it unlikely to be used for topic.
