A few reports indicating that Zaka Ashraf under the advice of Misbah may remove Mickey and Bradburn from their roles with the Pakistan team.

This would be an embarrassing uturn and probably mean that foreign coaches will be hesitant to risk their careers with the PCB.

Or would this be a good decision based upon sound reasoning?

Not good news if it comes to fruition.

Can’t understand why PCB would want to change course when our team finally seemed like it was heading in the right direction.

There goes our chances of a foreign coach in the future.

PCB needs to have a longer term vision and plan their moves accordingly.

Makes no sense at all especially given the way Pakistan played in Sri Lanka recently.

Only on Pakistan would this even be suggested.

Hope Zaka and co. see that this would be the wrong move.

What is the value of a contract with the PCB? Seems like a huge joke and a legal fiasco waiting to happen.

Misbah back again with his tuk tuk style of playing cricket
What a mess

Misbah should be kept far away from the senior team. Boring, cluless man destroyed many years where progressed could have been made.

Why is misbah back with pcb?? Didn’t we learn anything from past! He is harmful to Pakistan cricket! He hates Mickey Arthur. Why misbah is not concentrating on his business degree! Why we letting this idiot come back!

Misbah is too institutionalised in his thinking and his template produces little. I rather have him as a Finance chief rather than a cricket chief.

Misbah being the next Intikhab Alam. I would like to know the justification behind this move. No sane foreign coach will ever want to work with the PCB

I seriously hope not.. After a long time..we actually have shown some intent from Pak team.. huge improvements have been made in very short period.. this coaching setup MUST continue.. Misbah should be as far as possible from Pakistan cricket.. he has personal issue with Mickey Arthur..

But now there are some reports recently which suggest tht PCB has probably changed its mind and has decided to retain coaching staff atleast till world cup..and will decide later

Let me start with how much I appreciated Misbah the captain -- He took over when Pakistan cricket was in the doldrums after the spot fixing saaga and he brought stability, quality, and respect back to our team. So I did have high hopes when he consolidated power as coach and cheif selector in 2019.

But as coach / cheif selector, some of his selections were very...curious... He brought back Akmal and Ahmad Shezad to the team. On top of that, he introduced very average players like Mohammad Musa, Khushdil Shah and Kashif Bhatti.

But apart from his less-than-average selection skills, our rankings dwindled under his leadership. When he started his tenure, we were ranked the #1 T20 side in the world. After he resigned, we were #7. Under his tenure, (exlcuding matches against Zimbabwe,) we lost more tests and T-20's than we won. We also won 4 and lost 4 ODI's.

To his credity, he brought Rizwan into the fold. Rizwan has been incredible, but I argue that Misbah did more harm than good as coach / selector.

I'm sure Misbah means well. He has always put his heart and soul into everything he does. I also agree with him on a philosophical level that it is nice to have local coaches and that we should have a high profile full time coach. But I just don't think our local coaches are good enough just yet. The bottom line is that Under Mickey's leadership, Paksitan cricket flourished, and under Misbah's leadership, it dwindled. It would be a shame if Mickey is ousted.

1. Online coaches dont work.
2. Arthur wnt be removed, as removing him would mean PCB paying him half of his contract.

Why change a winning team? Bradburn and Arthur seem to be working well together and Pak's going into the field with a clear mindset. Pak's new approach is very refreshing to see.

Why jeopardize this? Just because PPP's candidate wants to do something different and have all the credit for his leader and himself?

We have just had a dominant Test series win, the first for a long time home or away, thanks to these guys. Replacing them now is the last thing to do.

More important question is why does Misbah keep landing these roles? He iseems like an automatic shoe in due to recency bias as this level headed manager or whatever PCB see in him. What has he done to deserve such automatic selection for these sort of positions?

The Mickey Arthur online zoom mentor thing was a doomed maneuver from the start. Desperation by Najam to land a foreign coach by any means necessary. Made PCB look like weak.

Other Coaches around the world must look at this and think what on earth is going on.

No job security equals top coaches ignoring Pakistan cricket.

In an interview, Zaka Ashraf:

"I believe this team is performing and we should not disturb them - Currently, we have no intentions to change the coaching staff or players. We already discussed this with our technical committee. We will give them time as Asia Cup and World Cup are just around the corner,"

Mickey is not the best coach to be honest , but Pakistan does not have a better choice. PCB needs to stick with him for couple of years at least before judging.
