Mike Hesson: As Pakistan's white-ball Head Coach - Performance Watch

Such an uninspiring choice. He has no charisma, no personality. He is the type of bloke who won’t even get noticed in an empty room.

He is just a puppet for PCB and their mouth piece. He can’t be dumb enough not to realize that this isn’t the best available team but he doesn’t have the chops to take a stand.

Good start from Mike, I like his intent. He seems hands on and committed. The rest is up to the players.
One thing I've observed that given his openness to experiments he's not afraid to make necessary changes for a particular game.

Any other Pakistani coach of the past would not have dropped Rauf for a Final match and go with just 1 Frontline pacer

This guy was also supporting Conway's and Williamson's inclusions in NZ's T20 side last year when they got smashed at the World T20

He's not the revolutionary coach PCT fans are expecting.

You should have stuck with Kirsten or gotten Andy Flower if you wanted a coach to significantly change your cricket
Redeemed himself somewhat by selecting the perfect XI for the final - at least template-wise. Prioritised batting depth and spinners .

That too when Rauf had a bit of a mental edge against the team with a 4fer earlier

Massive call. It paid off.

Yes rana sahab hopefully hesson and boys assess the condition in dubai against india play sufiyan and abrar again.

He has done very well so far. He has got a good look at some players, the amount of all rounders that were playing initially was questionable but it has been reigned in somewhat.

Now, let's discuss the teams they have won against :D
Afghanistan made it to semis in last world cup and defeated australia in these conditions they are better team than australia beating them is a hardest thing in sharjah conditions by no mean is a small feat.

Mike Hesson shared the following thoughts ahead of Asia Cup 2025:

* "I'm pleased the way the team is progressing. I think we're not the finished product yet, but to win, I think, 10 out of 14 games is a good start."
* "We've beaten Afghanistan in conditions that certainly suit their spin attack. So that was a confidence builder for the group to win a final where there's a bit of pressure on the line."
* "We've found different ways to score well over par on most venues we've played on. We've got contributions from everybody throughout the order."
* "From a bowling point of view, we've certainly improved in the power play. We've certainly improved at the back end of the innings with our variations. So, look, we're a developing side, but we're certainly not the finished product yet."
* "The composure was the most pleasing [thing about the bowling]. That often when you have a score like that, even though we knew it was well above par, sometimes you can go searching for wickets, and I was really pleased with the patience and the execution that we did in the final."
* "Fakhar has improved throughout the tri-series. He's gained confidence, obviously coming into it having just come off an injury. Started a little bit slow and built confidence throughout the tournament."
* "He's [Muhammad Nawaz] been outstanding for us with both bat and ball and in the field. With the ball, he's the best-performed bowler in world cricket and T20s this year."
* "An eight-team tournament is great for Asian cricket. I think it's a true test. It's a chance to expand the game within the region and a chance to see some players that you don't often see."
* "It's one of those tournaments that you can't allow the pressure of external things to affect your concentration. And our job is to make sure we focus on every game. We don't take anything for granted, and I think the side that does that the best throughout this Asia Cup will come up on top."
* "We're not thinking too far ahead. We know that if we just focus on the next match as well as we can, we give ourselves a good chance."
