Moeen against most teams could be half decent unlucky hes playing the Indians so early in his career. He could have a field day when England tour UAE next

Don't believe it he gets a wicket, they take him off, give 50 runs, then when the batsman are set they ask to take another.
Why not just give him a chance!!!
He got three wickets and did better then Jadeja so neva mind.
That's what good spinners make you do throw your wickets away.....thinking they can bash you.
I really think Ashwin is the best spinner in this series, they need to select him.....
I am little bit concerned about our batsman playing spin.
The Fab 4 used to smash spinners but rarely ever got out to them.
This generation smashes spinners but they get out to them.
One wrong session can turn this spinner bashing into a self inflicted defeat.
Just a feeling I get.
Well it happened in the last series in India when we got demolished. But that was Swann and Panesar, here it's a part-timer and Kerrigan sounds feeble if even Australia hit him out of the park.
Lots of other sides are worse at playing spin than us.
Even Ishant smashed his doosra for four.![]()
There's talk of some Kerrigan coming in into the next game, so Moeen may suffer a chop if they want to keep Stokes I presume?
I don't understand why my comment was deleted. I didn't break forum rules. I'D say it again. He looks like chucking when he bowls a doosra wearing full sleeves. Who taught him this? Everyone knows it.
Why would they keep Stokes? Sure he got a century against Australia but Moeen is the better player at the moment.
They do need another spinner but Monty is the answer, not Kerrigan.
Oh you have no idea, they love Stokes. I had to suffer through five days worth of the Sky stream during the test and they banged on and on about the England players with a special emphasis on Stokes, Anderson and Broad.
Let's be honest, If Stokes was a muslim and had a beard, And Moenn was white then there would be no debate about who should be in the side.

Moeen Ali is becoming second Usman Khawaja, overrated by Pakistanis
Prior dropped two chances off him. Bowled much better in this Test
His bowling is boring.
Looks very uncomfortable against Spin struggled against Herath. And Jadeja was all over him. Looked at ease against the pacers though.
I think Ashwin would own him easily. He would have destroyed England on this wearing pitch with all their lefties. Considering Ajmal and Moeen played for the same county last year. I can just imagine how Ajmal owned him in the nets.So true.
Imagine how it would be if he gets out to Dhawan and owns Ashwin in the next Test.
The way this Test series is going - you can't predict anything.
Thought you have an eye for talentHe is all class. New Amla.
for a part time bowler he is showing up the full timers.
more wickets ; better average ; better strike rate (and he has had some dropped)

Has a lot of time and looks elegant.
Am going to go out on a limb here and say he is the best Asian-origin player to play for England so far.
Seems far superior to Shah, Solanki, Faz etc
Yeah Nas is half Indian half English. Dad is Indian Kashmiri. This might sound stupid but Nas is seen more English than as a British Asian.Isn't Hussain Asian origin? I must admit I don't know if he was any good but he did play and captained England for number of years.
Pretty average cricketer.
How do these two posts agree? His bowling is not up to the standard of a first choice spinner, but he's definitely a more than decent sidekick. Not a bad batsman by any means, but something is missing.

Yeah I can see why. He is a great analyst nevertheless, one of the best in the business.
If he is top top and world class how is he not better than Shehzad and U Akmal.Moeen in NOT an all-rounder and never has been really.
He is a number 3 batsman who bowls part time off-spin, England have so little talent they are using him front-line and even then he has done brilliantly vs the two best teams against spin.
Moeen is a top top world class batsman.
Once again not on the level of the Umar Akmal & Shehzads but he's a good young cricketer

All rounders aren't usually great at both facets. Anyway I agree with the second post. The aspect missing is of course his ability (or lack of) against spin. If he improves in this area, could be a great all rounder for England in the years to come.
