So another chance gone begging. Decent ball, chance to take Cook out and Hafeez shells it... again.

That's not to say the other players in the team are good fielders.

But whenever I've seen this guy drop it, the batsman comes back to bite us. No different this time as Cook made 81.

Also the 2014 Asia Cup where it was shown he had a 40% drop rate, probably higher now. He let Jadeja off a skier that time where Jaddu went from single digits to a half century which lifted India to 249, without which we would've strolled to the target rather than take it down to the wire.

Vs South Africa in 2013 where QdK edged one, Hafeez shelled it, and QDK went on to make a nice 100.

Basically if you are batting against Pakistan and need confidence, just give a catch to Hafeez.

Honestly feel these dumb drops are going to cost us these neck to neck games, if not the series.

Also recall the Test vs SL, 2011 (Abu Dhabi I think?). Gave Sanga so many lives.

Still a decent outfielder overall.

Don't forget the first ODI in NZ this year. He dropped Nicholls. NZ could've been all out below 140

Agreed that it could cost us game and series. And before people come and say that England dropped two as well, England's chances were at least ten times harder. Our 2 were as regulation as it gets

I sense a Jesus joke here but i won't make it.

Hafeez has no place in the test side without his bowling. He will be eaten alive even on the flat Aussie wickets by Hazlewood.

I dont want to peddle any conspiracy theories but strange how it was off Amir's bowling as well (?), esp after all that he said prior to his comeback.

I was in office reading it on Cricinfo, seriously this man can't bat, can't catch, can't bowl... but somehow remains in the team and in fact speaks against deserving people getting into the side.

Make it yaar. Your one liners are legendary.

He will continue to field in the slips. Hafeez is the untouchable commodity of Pakistan cricket.

Not only does Shehzad has more long term potential than Hafeez as a batsman and as a captain but Shehzad is also an extremely reliable fielder...

seems PP has got its new target for future now

How can you defend this guy. This was not a one off. He's done it before.

Also note I haven't insulted him as a batsman. He can come good 2nd innings with bat. It's his type of pitch.

where I defend this guy?
these thing happen, its game, anyone can drop catches.
Misbah's drop catch cost 98 runs to Eng and its was dropped by Joe Root

I'm not sure how reliable he is, he dives to show off. They are pretty but ineffective

He does showboat sometimes but is great by Pakistani standards - definitely an upgrade over Hafeez who has a tendency to drop sitters.

This is very shameless.

Shezhad is a garbage batsman with an even worse technique than Hafeez, no he shouldn't be in the team as batsman.

He should not field in the main catching areas - i.e. slips, point or gully.

Can't bat. Can't bowl. Can't field.

Why is he even in the freakin' team?

Although his technique is debatable - he scored runs in the near past and definitely has potential.

Is also a future candidate for captaincy as shown by his leadership in the Pakistan Cup along with being a very good fielder.

He has been exposed at slips plenty of times, idk why they persist with him there. Typical dehati mentality to keep repeating something that doesn't work in hopes that it will work someday.

Even Afridi had a good PSL that doesn't mean he should be captain of Pakistan.

The bottom line is that if you're not good enough as a player you don't get selected in the team let alone become captain.

His fielding has been terrible, let them take an easy double let on in the game because he didn't fire it in.

They should call him for suspect catching technique as well. Think that's the only way we can get rid of him.

Nah it was the wind that made it pop out of his hands.

One of the most laughable cricketers I've ever seen. Only 10 hundreds after 200 odd matches batting in the top order, not to mention he drops 1 in 2 catches, some of them absolute dollies and has been banned for his bowling more times than Shahid Afridi has retired.

That drop was shocking.

Some people forget the catch he dropped in the last over of the 2007 t20 wc final and it popped over for 6.

India won the game by 4 runs

He is the great Professor Saab.

Very calculating. Knows when to make a score to save his place, knows when to take a catch. Gets banned for bowling to remind everyone he is actually a batsman, when really he is just a containing bowler who bats for a hobby.

Why is he in the team again? Almost dropped an easy catch of Williamson

I think, his catching technique isn't poor; but guy is extremely shaky - any pressure, he cracks down.

If I were a fish I don't know if I would be scared of him or not, because he's clearly a great fisherman but can't catch anything to save his life.

Hafeez will never be dropped. Mark my words.

Doesn't matter how bad how poor he plays. We becomes happy if such an experience batsman scores 30-40. ridiculous.

There was Shadab, Faheem and Hassan in the field . And there was Azhar Ali, Hafeez and Shoaib Malik. The contrast was ridiculously clear. The youngsters were jumping around and the seniors were fielding on the boundary as they are playing football. Before Shoaib Malik took a catch, the way he ran and tried to stop the ball with old-fashioned way of dropping foot cost PAkistan alongwith casual misfields by Azhar Ali and Amir also happened more than once. Then Hafeez dropped a dolly.
prop558 then we should hold responsible the one who is selecting them and make them infallible.

Was it a 60% catch rate or 60% drop?

60% catch rate, that's still pretty awful, and I'm sure it's gotten worse as that stat itself is 4 years old.

Imagine flying an airline that says they land successfully 60% of the time. HafeezAir. Blessed to Fly :hafeez

Blinded by the lights I think and dew. Will not have been Prof's fault.

The best part is Sarfraz saying nothing to Hafeez (as usual) and yelling at a younger fielder an over later for a lesser fielding mistake.

:ibutt

Should be brand ambassador for polo (the weird candy that has hole in the middle)
