All the bolded guys bowl in excess of 145k when swing is not working.

When his cutters are not working and when the conditions are not supporting swing bowling, he has nothing to fall back on.
He is only 19 and can add pace. But can he add 10-15k without losing swing?

I see him as Bhuvaneshwar Kumar at this point. He is going to be successful until the novelty fades away.

Chaminda Vaas, Shaun Pollock, Glenn McGrath were not express pace either, but they didnt have a bad career did they? Not saying Mustafizur would become a great yet but let's not write him off after getting half the side of the best batting line up in the world on these flat wickets of subcontinent at 19 years of age.

He has some amazing stats too for a pace bowler in Bangladesh domestics, a place dominated by spinners.

The guy is too skinny. Highest speed with that skinny body was 137 kph.

He is a pacer not a spinner, mendis was a spinner, and just because he got so many wickets with variation doesn't mean he will get found out and become ineffective, his line and length are deadly as well. And people like Vaas, McGrath and Pollock have been successful without pace.

Just because he is from Bangladesh people claim that, If this guy was an Indian or Pakistani he would have been praised to the moon by now after getting 11 wickets in two matches vs one of the best batting line ups on flat pitches at 19 years of age

Haven't watched his bowling except for the dismissals so can't say anything yet, but his mentality is mighty impressive. First two games, and he as dismantled a renowned batting unit.

It's interesting to see if his variations will be worked out or not.

It's incredible that a world class subcontinental batting lineup was unable to deal with 120kph cutters, lobbing them up in the air. However Mustafizur was definitely getting some deliveries to swing in between so it remains to be seen how well he fares. At this moment in time I still rate Taskin slightly higher though.

First of all congo to Bangladesh.....

to pose a threat as a bowler...u need 2 move the bowl...wheather u r a spinner or pacer....no matter.....now to b a constant threat a kp the batsmen guessing....u must move it both ways...or do some subtle variations..... like for spinners....use the flight....loop ..use the crease..... etc... for pacers... u can alter the lengths...bowl slow boucers.... in between..

Mustazifur is doing the same... hie only needs 2 develp pace....and I believe he can do that.....a 130-135kps is enough....if he can swing the bowl..... all the best 2 the lad...

It can happen in cricket. It has happened many times in the past. Bangla has a long way to prove that they are world class. First prove that you can reach #5 in ICC rankings and then prove you can stay there for an year.

He was swinging the ball as well his cutter was more effective because of it as after bowling outswing he was bringing the ball in with the cutter.
Any bowler no matter the pace can be a handful if batsman are not sure of the ball movement specially in limited overs cricket.
From what I have seen of him he will get swing in swing friendly conditions. Batsman need to play him a bit like a spinner but because of his pace compared to a spinner harder for them to reach the pitch of the ball.

He is not a seamer like Asif who makes the ball cut by using the seam.He is more like Santokie cutting the ball by rolling the fingers.

Looks like they just look at speed gun and thing anybody who can bowl at 125 can be McGrath. Well it is lot harder to be McGrath like then even a fast bowler. In last 30 years, Asif is the only bowler who had similar ability, they both were tall and high arm action, rely heavily on seam movement. Asif later on developed amazing seam wobbling that give extra dimension to his bowling.

His debut was impressive. But his most potent weapon was spin bowling (off cutters at 70-75 MPH) rather than fast ones. When he bowls in low 120s his control is good and seam movement is better, as soon as he tries to bowl 130+ he looses control and some of the movement. After few matches people will pickup his off cutters from the hand, then it will be hard for him to surprise batsman.

Adding speed is not easy, it probably more difficult than swinging the ball. Jimmy Anderson is very good at swinging the ball in low 130s, but was never able to graduate to 140s bowler. Amir was special, because he had swing in the air, seam at high pace(140s). That can get whole world excited.

Lets see how he progress, but I don't have high hopes from him, like I had with Cummins, Strac, Boult, Amir, Wahab in recent past. Those guys looked to be in different class when compare to BK, Parveen and new kid MR type of bowlers...

I felt Kohli was able to pick him when he hit him for a four and a six. Should be a good contest if they get to face each other next game.
