I think we played a little part but Donald Trump directly called Putin and had a lengthy conversation and wants to improve the relationships. We are a prospect and pro business nation and welcome such transformative developments in global politics.

Modi was the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Palestine. Wow!!!

This is sad that the Arabs don't value Pakistanis and Bangladeshis.
 
Please don't elevate a mere mortal to the level of God. I have always liked Modi, but Nobel Prize? Come on! Regardless, I won't like anyone I like to be awarded a prize that has been conferred on an animal like Henry Kissinger. Both Kissinger and Malala have been awarded the Nobel Peace prize, and the former isn't good enough to kiss the boots of the latter as a human being.​

What is more sad is that Modi seems to be losing India's direct neighbours to China. Empty platitudes from the west don't amount to the same as concrete achievements closer to home.

India will always have some level of control over Sri Lanka so not bothered.

Greatest statesman of all time. It takes immense guts and dedication to do things and enact the laws he did in a polarised country like India. In 11 years transformed India 360. Not a single step he took that is for his personal benefit and not for the sake of the country. What a leader. Leaders like him comes once in a generation and even that is rare.

Till 2020, i had Nehru at #1 despite peer pressure and all the negative narrative built up against him. I stood my ground despite the blunders he was the GOAT.

PM Modi in 2025 has taken over Chacha Nehru for me as not only the greatest ever PM we have had but i am putting #1 global leader in last 100 years among democratic countries.

What he’s done is unbelievable and unimaginable.

Has revived Sanatan.
Has revived the very soul of this nation.

Ain’t no stopping.

No arguement against his resume. The transformations he’s done have made the world a much better place.

However, sources in the Indian government told TASS that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will represent India at the Victory Day Parade on May 9, indicating that Prime Minister Modi is unlikely to attend in person.

The development follows confirmation from Moscow last month that Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit India later this year-his first trip to the country since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

Though the date of Putin's visit has not been finalised, both leaders have maintained consistent diplomatic engagement through bilateral meetings and regular telephone conversations.

Prime Minister Modi last visited Russia in July 2024, marking his first trip to the country in nearly five years. Prior to that, he had travelled to Vladivostok in 2019 to attend an economic conclave. During the 2024 visit, PM Modi held wide-ranging talks with President Putin and extended an invitation for the Russian leader to visit India-an invitation that the Kremlin has since accepted.

Moscow has praised India's position on global conflicts, particularly its neutral stance on the Ukraine war. Last month, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov lauded New Delhi for "consistently" maintaining a "balanced position on the Ukrainian crisis" and advocating for its resolution through dialogue.

The upcoming Victory Day parade, held annually on May 9, is one of Russia's most important state ceremonies, commemorating the Soviet Army's victory over Nazi Germany. This year's event holds special significance as it marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the war in Europe.
