Narendra Modi used hologram campaigns for PM election?

Not sure if this was something previously discussed. I was completely unaware about this until I came across an old Jimmy kimmel snippet in Facebook where Jimmy poked fun at Hillary and Trump for not using this technology and that Modi used holograms across hundreds of cities in India since he can't be everywhere at once. I first though he really was joking until I pulled a few google searches and you tube videos and was literally surprised that this was true.

What are you're thoughts for the people living in India ? Did anyone see this in person? Was this effective in his election or a waste of money ? I've heard it was one of the most expensive campaign strategies used in Indian history. He of course went on to win.

Could Imran Khan use something similar next year for his campaign ?

Arnab made a huge song and dance about this technology last year, so I'd be surprised if Modi beat him to it during the election campaign of 2013-14.

The technology itself from what I'm reading was German made. Wonder how much it cost not sure if it's in the millions or a lot less that that ...

Was one of the most expensive election campaign ever the big business houses and others who paid "donations" to BJP to carry out such a huge campaign for rewarded by BJP once they came in power..

Was it good? Who cares both BJP and congress have been same for me, no change in daily life and no stop on corruption amongst other things.. So no point thinking too much about politics only makes you frustrated but BJP did benefit from it amongst many other things..
