Netherlands set to tour Bangladesh for three T20Is

The series will feature three clashes, starting August 30.

Bangladesh are set to host the Netherlands for the first time in a bilateral series, with the two sides scheduled to play a three-match T20I series. The series will begin on August 30, with all three matches set to be played in Sylhet.

The Netherlands will arrive in Bangladesh on August 26 and will have three training days before the series kicks off.

The first T20I is scheduled for August 30, followed by the second and third matches on September 1 and 3, respectively - all to be played at the SICS in Sylhet.

The series will serve as crucial preparation for Bangladesh ahead of the Asia Cup, which begins on September 9. The Netherlands, meanwhile, have played in Bangladesh once before - during the 2014 T20 World Cup.

Both sides have played five T20Is against each other, with Bangladesh winning four of them. Back in 2012, the Netherlands hosted Bangladesh for a two-match T20I series - their only bilateral encounter prior to the upcoming tour.

Bangladesh beat the Netherlands to enhance their chances of a place in the second round of the T20 World Cup 2024.

The last time both sides faced each other was in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, where Bangladesh secured a 25-run victory.

Schedule :

1st T20I - August 30, Sylhet

2nd T20I - September 1, Sylhet

3rd T20I - September 3, Sylhet

Wow! Unexpected opponent.

I believe Netherlands have never toured Bangladesh for a series. This is their first time.

Anyway, BD should try to win 3-0. Anything less than 3-0 against Netherlands at home would be a failure. :inti

If they roll out same pitches as v Pakistan then Netherlands won't have a chance. They won't have experienced anything like it.

They are likely to get similar pitches. LOL!

Anyway, Sylhet pitches are slightly better than Mirpur pitches but still have enough spice to help BD bowlers.

Bangladesh should have tag teamed in that Pak/Afg series. Anyway, Sylhet is a replica of NZ conditions and that is also the region where most of our fast bowlers comes from.
