Ironical. Bangla-wash. They would want to win at least one game. Shakib probably adds some strength to their side.

Bangladesh have won the toss and have opted to field

Bangladesh: Najmul Hossain Shanto, Soumya Sarkar, Litton Das, Shakib al Hasan (C), Afid Hossain, Mosaddek Hossain, Nurul Hasan, Yasir Ali, Mohammad Saifuddin, Ebadot Hossain, Shoriful Islam

New Zealand: Devon Conway, Finn Allen, Martin Guptill, Glenn Phillips, Mark Chapman, James Neesham, Michael Bracewell, Ish Sodhi, Adam Milne, Tim Southee, Trent Boult

Credit to BCB for planning series against big boys. Its not easy for minnow teams to play series like this.

Brainless captaincy. Giving one over each to every bowler.

This doesn't allow the bowler to settle.

Finn is a beast, complete mishits going for six on a big ground.

Another 6.

Finn is so fun to watch.

Hopefully he can carry this form into the WC.

What a talent.

Teams like Ireland and Afghanistan do not get that. They both are on par with BD. In Afghanistan's case, they are better than BD.

That's because of sponsorship..AFG can't afford a home venue let alone a sponsorship..BD on other had is blessed with a huge fan base on account of their population. their fans deserve better than the team they got

Guptill is the same height. They use long levers to reach anything and everything. Imagine Guptill and Finn Allen in full flight. Will be destructive

Passionate fans supporting a bad team.

Finn goes but does the job to get the team off a good start.

Now that Finn is gone, run rate should drop a bit.

NZ - 47/1 (5 overs).

The guy who took the catch, can't tell if he is overweight or those are muscles. Cricket eh? who cares about how the body looks? lol

slightly chubby not like that Afghan keeper. That guy got some power though.

Conway is a steady batsman with good technique. His recent test series failure in England was surprising.

Guptill has this weakness against incoming delivery at a nagging length regardless of the pace.

NZ - 68/1 (8 overs).

Run rate was over 11 when Finn was there. Has gone below 9 since then.

NZ - 87/1 (10 overs).

Anything over 150 should be too much for BD.

BD has to come out of this surrender mode. Either they have to become an exceptionally good bowling unit or batting unit. Power game is a distant dream for BD rightnow. So they have to develop smart bowles with trickeries like SL does.

I agree.

They were better than this for a while but things have gone downhill since then.

This chapman is hit or miss. Has a 50 against India batting at no.3 at a low strike rate. Otherwise his career is poor. Just 125 strike rate.

That was some fun batting. Am not gonna stick around for the second innings. We all know what's bout to happen, lol

How the heck 4 very good new Zealand fielders did not attempt a catch around the center of the pitch? They all looked at each other ball fell right between them

That was hilarious as a neutral but NZ should be really embarrassed with that.

To be honest, I expected worst from BD

NZ 208/5 (20)
BAN 44/1 (5.1) CRR: 8.52 REQ: 11.12
Bangladesh need 165 runs in 89 balls

Pak is screwed now that a genuine pacer is playing for NZ.

That weird bowling combo with NZ packing 3 spinners was supposed to be the easy game :)))
