What's new

New Zealand [245/6] beat South Africa [241/6] by 4 wickets in 25th match of 2019 World Cup

I reckon it’s a good toss to lose for SA. It’s flat wicket and later on might spin a little.

Delayed - Play due to start at 12pm local time

both teams on paper better than Pakistan i fear for Pak vs SA & NZ could be an abject surrender

Jeeve jeeve SA

See out first 10 overs and pile on the runs. ozymandias where are you brother?

We all are with SA. Amla and De kock needs to stay first power play and give a good start for SA.

Whats the point of reducing the overs!? just 1 of that. Could've reduced the lunch break by 5 mins

NZ are good chasers i fear for broadcasters this could be K.o to Bangla Tigers the WI :holding

Conditions look better. Maybe better to bat 1st. Think spin may play a part .

De Kock off the mark. He has threatened to get a big score but hasn't. SA need him to fire.

If SA can make it to semis themselves their tale won’t be that dissimilar to Pakistan’s 1992 campaign

NZ is far more experienced and settled unit. Everyone knows their role. Hard for SA to beat them. They have world no.2 ODI bowler in Boult as well. Fielding is very good. Best time to cash in on against SA is middle period. They should keep wickets in hand.

yup no swing not one of those 4 for 20 day for Boult. Batting beauty. It is upto SA to mess this one up.

Being honest, de Kock is brutal on true wickets but against quality swing and quality spin I haven't seen many good innings.

He came here to England in 2017 and couldn't handle the red Dukes.

Whatever happened to de kock? He's fallen away the last few years.

A slight seam movement. He could have easily covered. He left a big gap and tried to tee off. That was just a poor poor shot selection first over against one of the best new ball bowler going around. Don't these guys have any team plan? It is all indivdual plan.

Aye bit of movement off the seam. Stupid shot when on this pitch all you need to do is see off the new ball.

Amla bhai need to see one of you finest innings here. Come on, give us one last fine ton.

Henry is also bowling a nice channel. Even Chris Gayle sometimes takes his time before exploding. De Kock carried a lot of nervous energy.

I wonder if they were looking for 395 from the get go lol Just you know England was 46/1 after first 10 overs. They scored 197 in the last 15 overs vs Afghanistan. Wait and attack lesser bowlers.

Pakistan should pray for a Saffer win. A South Africa that is knocked out has no pressure and they may just knock Pakistan out.

This is not "boult friendly" condition by any means. No swing from the hand. Just a bit of movement. It is the inswinger that is very hard to negotiate

SA has the bowling unit to defend total like 270 to 300. Rabada, Tahir. So they should buckle down and set the tone.

Amla is looking good. Faf looking to play himself in. He has the ability to make up though.

CDG and Neesham are bowlers South Africa can target. They just need to see off the new ball.

No doubt. He is very much underrated but I think he is the best bowler around.

He is not good at the death. The likes of Starc, Bumrah and even Amir are much better when it comes to death overs. However, he is a master of the new ball and has complete control of his line, length as well as swing. Similar to how Anderson is in Tests.

THey are seeing off new ball threat. But will they attack bowlers after 10 overs atleast put away bad balls? That is where we will know whether SA has actually a plan to set the target

Yes, it does appear that he lacks mental toughness. A terrific talent though.

Do you think he's regressed a bit hasn't done much over last year or 2. Plus was a failure last work cup too i think.

They can target CDG and Neesham. Just need to see off the new ball.

New Zealand have been excellent so far. Really don't see them losing to Pakistan and West Indies.

If i predict correctly, i am sure Amla will continue the same conservative approach against them after 10. When you know you don't have the game to move in higher gears you have to go at a reasonably acceptable rate.

He has been in decent form lately, but I do think he is struggling because there is too much pressure on him at the moment. South Africa need to induct fresh blood in the top-order.
