New Zealand [300/5] defeat India [296/7] to win 3rd ODI by 5 wkts & whitewash India by a 3-0 margin

At least chahal is finally doing something, it looks like, to prevent a 3-0 white wash.
 
India have made a comeback but NZ still ahead in this match. Good bowling by Chahal.
 
Saini has pace, A good bouncer and bats decently.
All he lacks is discipline, he is not a fast learner but a prospect who could be retained to test out.

Had he been a batsman I would have understood your statement, but he is your best bowler, by some margin. He will be key to Indias success in Tests and T20 WC later this year. So should handle him with care.
 
Sad to see Ross go but a good chance for NZ shakey lower order to show they can do something.
 
NZ will still win the match. Latham is a good player of spin and good in chases.
 
India are on the wrong side of the luck this series! If it was like T20 series, I would have comfortably felt confident about this...
 
Chahal is much better in LOIs... Kuldeep should concentrate on Tests...
 
bumrah should've been given rest until the upcoming test series, which is more important.
And shami should be playing in this important (but not rank-deciding) series to save face - with the thakurs, kuldeep, chahals getting smashed, wicket taking is only going to stop NZ.
At least, for a change, that part Indian spinner chahal is doing ok, so far and jadeja is also reaping rewards of that.

In ODIs, no score is defendable in NZ without getting the opposition out, 99% of the time.
How kohli gets almost everything wrong is beyond belief.

Did this guy really compare a T20 series where we choked 3 games away to an ODI series? :))

I told you earlier the format is for casuals and attracting interest. ODIs is the premier tournament and the ODI WC is the biggest event in the sport.

It was really a series to cement Rahul as opener (would have served for even Test Series). I don't have confidence in both Shaw & Agarwal opening in upcoming Test Matches...

He's Indian and pretending like Tests are bigger than they really are because India are number 1 lol. The casual Indian fan (most Indian fans tbh would) doesn't give a damn and would trade that ranking for a WC.

Most Indians don't even know India's ranking in tests lol. A tiny minority watches tests only when India is playing at home. Test viewership in India is beyond abysmal.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against tests, I watch them myself when I get time. But the purists who claim it's the top format in India are either delusional or trolling. Don't take them seriously.

The wc is the premier cricket tournament, not random bilateral odis. Tests are the most important format right now when it isn't an international tournament and by some distance. Of course I do think Odis were important before to cricket arrived. Not right now though.

Shardul absolutely rubbish- Ind bowler from the 90’s. Bumrah again wicketless- seems to have lost the zip off the pitch & not able to bowl effective yorkers.

Thakur single-handedly tilted this game towards NZ and even the series! He is the anti-Man of Series for India! Should soon join the sacred graveyard of Dinda & co.

Great perfomance by NZ after really letting down the fans the past couple of months. I really hope we can continue this in the test series.

Australia is a huge outlier, most teams absolutely play their best XI in ODIs whenever possible, as it brings the most money.
 
Excellent performance from the team, ended a 31 year old record and I won some money with good odds.

Tests are going to be completely different, think India have the edge there and Bumrah will be more effective.
 
Incredibly impressive how New Zealand have managed to whitewash India, even without three major players: Williamson, Ferguson and Boult. Shows just how good they are in ODIs. They've now won 4 on the trot against India.

Cricket is a sport where the white ball version subsidizes the red ball one because of the constraints of modern day attention spans and decline of ground attendances. This does not make it secondary or less in importance. If you think that you should ask most players which format they want to excel most in. If you're still not trolling you'll get your answer. Tv viewership is secondary to it.

Ftr tests in india are still quite well attended. I couldn't get a ticket most days the last time england came here in mumbai.

Tests are subsidised by white ball cricket. If they are losing so much money you should ask yourself why they don't stop first class cricket which is basically red ball cricket or why associates want to become test playing nations.
