Kuldeep forgettabe day. He dropped a sitter of Taylor when he was very early in the crease. then conceded 84 runs. Bumrah bowled 9 wides, Total of 19 wides. then there was a noball. Several misfields in the boundary like letting through legs. About 20 to 30 runs. overthrows of 5 runs. One of the worst day on the field for India. They just went through motion. India have been fined 80 per cent of their match fee for maintaining a slow over-rate against New Zealand in the first One Day International in Hamilton on Wednesday.

Chris Broad of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees imposed the sanction after Virat Kohli’s side was ruled to be four overs short of the target after time allowances were taken into consideration.

In accordance with Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to minimum over-rate offences, players are fined 20 per cent of their match fees for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time.

Kohli pleaded guilty to the offence and accepted the proposed sanction, so there was no need for a formal hearing.

On-field umpires Shaun Haig and Langton Rusere, third umpire Bruce Oxenford and fourth umpire Chris Brown leveled the charges.

Yes. Commentators had mentioned that the conditions became better in the second half of the Indian innings. That is why India struggled at the beginning and batted better later. New Zealand had the advantage of better conditions throughout their innings. Having said that, coping with scoreboard pressure and winning is commendable. NZ deserved to win.

Every wrist spinner at the start has a novelty factor let alone a chinamen which is rare breed and Kuldeep definitely enjoyed his time. He is still decent but definitely needs to work on accuracy and pace variations.

He went through this confidence issue in the IPL. He still bowls atleast 5 or 6 wicket taking balls every match. Batsmen end up getting bamboozled totally. He is still potent againts right handers. It is the left handers that are giving him the problem.

I agree. NZ is very strong at home. They have the power game for the pitches there. Taylor is one of the underrated batsmen in the world. Hope the Indian bowlers find ways to dismiss him early in the upcoming matches.

Anyone who bats second can chase pretty much anything here. First 15 overs ball was swinging around in the afternoon. After that absolute pancake with short side boundaries with a lot of wind assistance. Personally i am happy they took Thakur to cleaners. Kohli is such a robotic captain. He needs shock therapy. But i he didn't seem to care about the result. As usual glorified NZ team and left. They played well. Credit to them. Brilliant chase under scoreboard pressure. Fans are ticked off because of persisting with 35 year old Jadhav who is in the side for his part time option. He is never used. Then Thakur who probably is not in the list top 15 bowlers in India. keeps getting chances.
