Raining non stop at my place for 2 days straight.

The ground can easily be prepared within an hour or so but the rains showing no sign of relenting
 
The sad part of this is even if we do get 2-3 days worth playing time, NZ are not a bunch of talentless midgets who are only good at being doormats for the bigger teams like the 'Deshis.

I am Oz as f but indian roots. So got to support india.
Support Oz in other sports.
But yes it's sad. Pant > gilly by the time pant retires.

Just cause a saffer or. Kiwi lived in aus with aus passport doesn't mean he will support aus against his motherland. Even if they are born in Australia it makes no difference. It all depends on your ethnicity.

Went to the ground anyway. Decent crowd given the atmospheric situation and they were cheering the freaking groundsmen - everytime they'd walk in on the ground.

Another observation - no matter how many times I visit the chinnaswamy it always shocks me how small the playing area is - truly postage stamp sized.
 
Persistent rain forced the abandonment of the first day's play in the inaugural Test match between India and New Zealand on Wednesday. The decision to call off play was made at 2:34 PM after heavy rain resumed following a brief respite. Match officials conducted a pitch inspection around 2 PM, but significant damp areas on either side of the wicket, which had been exposed around 1:50 PM, made playing conditions unsuitable. Despite efforts to dry the field with hessian cloths, the extensive rain damage proved insurmountable.

The toss, originally scheduled for 9 AM, was also not possible due to the continuous downpour throughout the morning. A handful of spectators braved the weather, but their only highlight was seeing star batsman Virat Kohli and opener Yashasvi Jaiswal engaging in an indoor net session with assistant coach Abhishek Nayar.

The weather forecast for Thursday suggests more rain, at least until noon, which may further delay the start of the match. It is worth noting that even the practice sessions for both teams on Tuesday were disrupted by heavy rain.

Play on the second day is scheduled to commence at 9:15 AM, with the toss set for 8:45 AM, weather permitting.

Yeah. All the older grounds have a pretty small playing area - Kotla, Wankhede etc.
 
With intermittent rain forcast for next 2 days, i feel we will go in with same XI as @ Kanpur against BD.

Same combo of 3 pace 2 spin

What do the great minds think?

Indore is another that is pretty small. so is Kotla - that safed hathi stadium with pan masal advt plastered all over its glorifed car park like structure....one of the ugliest sights in world cricket

ok. But i like the approach Gambo-ball or hitball or whatever the latest jazz is , i fully expect india to force the issue and go out blazing...high risk approach but brings either high dividends or spectacular fall....thrilling to watch nevertheless

That's a dangerous territory. Because otherwise you are judging all the brit pakistanis who shows relentless patriotism towards Pakistan even going against England in cricket.

Before winning the toss i would have been 50/50 but looking at wicket- expected to aid spin and the fact we've won toss and are batting, i feel correct decision.
We have to do the early running and hope our guys come out firing.
P.S my banglore cousin says rain in the air and raining about 30kms away from stadium
 
Just beats me why don't we have accompanying music whenever national anthem is played, it adds on to the atmosphere and would be such a welcome addition

Henry is very different bowler ,he can Bowl 3-4 wayward deliveries but suddenly produced a wicket taking delivery.

on the field he is an enemy. so doesnt matter. outside everyone can touch butts and play tag.
