What's new

New Zealand beat India by 6 runs in the 2nd ODI

well-done KW, nice 100 to help his team post a good total first time in this series.
Nah, we're still going to be under par. We're better off having Anderson at 4 now, especially if he wants to play himself in.

I wonder if we're going to manage one good team innings on tour...

5 fielders allowed out... India are well ahead IMHO, they should coast in a chase of under 310.

Our batting is Rohit (depending on his mood) Kohli (most consistent and impact-full) and Ageing Dhoni (now a days he's a support player who holds one end to provide support)

So you just need 2 wickets to trigger a collapse.

Why isnt McLenaghan playing? Aman

Surely better suited to these conditions than Boult

This side sucks and look defeated every time they walk out.

KW has to go as captain, he's a horrible leader of men.
Everyone was praising KW after T20 WC in India, I don't think this is all his fault. when you have 2 walking wickets in top four, what can he do?
Has Latham lead any team in domestic matches?

Think a lot of us got really excited when Kiwis performed well in the T20 WC,lets see how they bowl today.

He was the youngest captain in ND history IIRC.

I'd take anyone over at KW at this stage.

At this rate they may not even get to 250. The momentum really shifted when Taylor came to the crease.

260 looks hard to reach now. feeling bad for KW, this team reminds me of Indian team in 90's. Get one or two good Batsmen, rest of team just fall like cards

Bowled :))

Another pathetic display by NZ, they don't deserve to be invited back after the pitful fight they've shown this series.

Really a minnow-esque performance from them.. even then, Bangladesh and Afghanistan would have put up more of a fight.

Feel sorry for him all you like, but a lot of this has to do with his poor leadership. The team is down in confidence, it's his job to get the best out of them.

Bmac had these guys punching above their weight.
Goes to show you how great of a leader he was. They were confident and played without fear, now there is so much doubt with players. I hope Kane is asked to step aside if things don't change in the summer.

Think he may have been ruled out with injury.

Still.. he would have made little difference.

Got to give him time.

What happened to Rohit Sharma? Played a regulation edge and clutched his shoulder in agony?

Great bowling and fielding effort by NZ here. Time for Dhoni to show us he still has what it takes.

Dhoni to the rescue again. India will seriously miss him once he's completely gone

NZ batting is really poor in the subcontinent.

They performed well in the T20 WC but otherwise it has been really miserable for them in this part of the world. Their record is 7-0 in the last matches in Bangladesh against mediocre BD sides.

This is not going to be one-sided by any means.

Its pretty much anyone's game. Not much batting after Pandya and Axar is a very average batsmen anyways.

People want Dhoni to retire?

He will play till the next World cup

When England loses 5 wickets they still can go bang bang.

Look at us.

Flawed strategy leads to such situations. Anyways...what we now need is cautious batting at a good speed but if we don't speed up, the run rate is gonna balloon up soon and we will crumble under pressure.

Jadhav was striking at 120 while Dhoni is doing at 60. Either Axar or Dhoni have to get (slightly) increase the tempo.

anyone else thinks that dhoni should rotate strike more?

Everyone else thinks.

Striking at 60 when Jadhav was striking at 120.

Yes, he is cautious but you can't get bogged down. If NZ had scored 30-40 runs, the game was over. And 280 was chaseable in this pitch.

Its not a bad thing if we lose.

I have been hoping for a change in Indian strategy for long.

This current strategy is rotten and any wins we have will mask it.

Need an Aane Do Series to set things right.

63 off 59 balls?

If only we had Ash and Jaddu here.

Those 2 are lulloos in high scoring ODIs but they would have been perfect for this situation.
