A complete joke at the moment.

Ever since Bond left as the bowling coach, the pacers have been going downhill.

Henry has completely regressed, Boult barely swings the ball these days and Southee is bowling 135kph max.

The bowling has gone to completely brainless standards vsing Australia who love short pitch bowling at gentle pace, and yet they persist with such a joke attack of 130kph short pies.

If they only had a ounce of skill this guy had...

I think Boult is still doing pretty well. If anything, I think in the series vs us and even against Aus now he has looked the best post-injury. Can keep improving.

You can even do an Amir for him and say had the catches been taken off him in the first ODI his figures would be better. :amir2

Besides you guys have 2 gun express youngsters Milne and Ferguson. Both are in progress, but it's not like every country is producing pure fast bowlers like this by the dozen. Develop them.

It'll be fine.

Just play a proper batting unit in ODIs, idk what this is. Latham, Watling have no business in ODIs.

The batting barring Guptill/KW/Neesham and to a extent Munro everyone else has looked completely out of their depth.

Tom Latham is like a Daren Ganga who looks technique correct but both are completely at sea with their defensive pokes against good bowling.

It seems everyone has forgotten how to use their feet charging down to useless medium pacers like Mitch Marsh and gun barrel straight length bowlers like Hazlewood.

Honeslty if Hazlewood bowls the same spot the whole over and you can't get the ball off the square like Guptilll, then you should be improvising. Dunno what Craig McMillan the batting coach is doing these days... seems to be getting a free ride.

They should be charging down the wicket and disrupting lengths ala Nathan Astle vsing a very good attack at the time of Caddick/Hoggard/Flintoff/Giles:

Or even go back a year and look at how Brendon McCullum schooled Hazlewood.

Express bowlers these days like Milne and Ferguson barely get on the park, with Ferguson losing his pace after 3 overs and looking like he's unable to bowl even 8 overs let alone 10...

Only bowler in the world consistently bowling very quick these days is Starc :/.... Patrick Cummins is all hype and 0 substance, he's a bowler every decent batter would smack around all day.

100% agree with Latham and Watling, especially Watling who does not look like hitting a six ever.
Too many bits and pieces players as well like De Grandhomme who looked like he was going to pee his pants vsing Starc.

Santner shouldn't even bee classified as a Allrounder with his disgraceful batting.... I'd bat Matt Henry ahead of both of them to be honest.

Over achieved vs Pakistan due to terrible batting by our batsman. A better show was expected though instead they all were miserable.

Henry in last 12-18 months has lost considerable pace. No more fast. Boult has got better after taking almost 1 year of Int Cricket but is no more the deadly striker Boult of pre injury.

Southee is doing what is was expected of him.

Milne n Ferguson are exciting if they stay injury free for long especially Ferguson.

Next FC season will be crucial for Fast Medium Allrounder Scott Kuggeleijn and Fast Medium Pacer Ed Nuttall.

New Zealand have high quality and exciting backup players. Atleast they need to get rid off Henry, Bracewell and Nichols from their next Test squad.

NZ look defeated whenever they come out to play.

Seriously, it's shocking the deameanour between when they played under McCullum and now under Kane.

Just not good enough.

Pakistan should be embarrassed they lost 0-2 to such a mediocre side, if they applied themselves better, they would have (should have) crushed us 0-2.

Gifted wickets and runs, you really should have won this series 0-2.

NZ are one of the weakest teams out there, don't be surprised to see Bangladesh win a few games here.

Our fielding is starting to go as well, it's a bad sign as we always use to be a good fiielding side, but the players are to have lapses of concentration far too frequently now. Oh how I wish McCullum was back.

Their attack is pretty skilled. It's just that most of their bowlers are a bit soft. They are pretty toothless on the hard flat wickets of Australia (tbf to them, most bowlers in the world are) but are very good when conditions support them. Their bowlers (Southee, Boult) lack the pace and bounce to trouble batsmen on flat wickets while the express bowlers they have are either injury prone or not consistent with their lengths.

They need a bowler like Rabada who is equally good on flat wickets.

I think NZ have so much potential and its sad to see them not live up to it. Boult/Southee were supposed to be the next world class bowling duo but have seriously gone downhill. Boult seems to be getting slightly better in the last couple of months though.

NZ just need a mindset change. Whether that requires a Captaincy change is too early to say. I am not wiling to write off Williamson both as a Batsman and as a Leader as yet.

With a strong domestic cricket setup with quality backup players being produced I expect NZ to bounce back in all formats.
