Its out 100%. Kohli is crybaby

Yeup that was out. I highly doubt the umpire made the decision based on the faint touch on the glove but it was there. Kohli must have felt the ball flick off the thumb. Its one thing to act in dismay that you get dismissed but another to insinuate that you were robbed. That's just invoking pressure on the umpire and affecting him psychologically. Makes it worse when you have no right to do so.

Kohli tries to intimidate the umpire, disgraceful tactics.

I think he guessed it, there is no way he could have seen that edge.

Umpire must have thought the ball took the edge of the bat.

There is no way he would have seen the thumb. It makes no sound.

Fluke decision by the umpire, but a correct one.

Especially when he knows he edget it and umpire will not change his decision after you cry. Also hotspot, snicko will show you was wringfully crying. I dont undersand why he did that, horrible acting.

Close ones like that usually goes to 3rd umpire. And since reviews are not there Kohli feeled unlucky for not given benefit of doubt.

This pitch is an absolute road...very poor stuff from Kiwi's to prepare these kind of flat deck

Ishant bowled well here

Totally agree

Dhawan 0
Pujara 1
Kohli 4

New Zealand were pretty much in the same spot India has to dig in here for an hour or two #longwaystogo

Yeup agreed. To the extent that you feel frustrated with yourself for getting out you are justified but when you stare down the umpire as if it missed the bat (or glove) then your credibility is at stake.

Ishant Sharma should take some lessons from Southee on accountability and responsibility of how to lead the bowling attack. I know he took 6-134 today but can't ignore his bowling in the last 4 years.

Nohit has got the best opportunity to make a name.

I always felt he is more of a Test match player than an ODI one.

What are you on dude.

NZ are one of the biggest Chokers and under achievers in the world. They always have been.

India are no chokers.
NZ'ders are known fighters in all the sports we play.

We don't give in.

India are pathetic outside of India with 100 times the resources that NZ have.

Are you sure?

The facilities available in NZ are 100 times better than the ones in India.

BCCI has money. Indians are poor.

Just go and watch kids playing in India and compare them with Kiwi kids.

Our resources and facilities are shared with other sports i.e. my local cricket club shares it's facilities with hockey

Even NZ lose 3 wickets for what...some 30+ runs with new ball? Once the shine gone expect a big partnership :)

I said resources not facilities.

I can understand why Indians are defensive about cricket.

They havn't got much else to support in the sporting world.

Rohit and Vijay working hard to get their team out of strife.

boy oh boy!!! india 10/3

Indian bowlers looked very threatening with the new ball. Ball got old and they became toothless.

NZ were 30/3 and should have been 50/5 or 50/6 had India taken their catches.

Batsmen has got to have the patience to score runs on these kinds of surface.

Once the ball gets old, pitch looks like a road.

Once the ball gets old Boult begins to reverse :)

The population of NZ is 4.43 million. A country where rugby and even soccer have more popularity than cricket. Surely, the current Indian players have played on world class facilities.

The problem here is the technique. Indians aren't alone in this struggle. Pak, SL, and various other cricketing nations would struggle.

This is probably something new for the Indians. They got a bit of a taste of it in SA but in Enzed the ball can really swing around and the bounce can be unpredictable. It will be the same in England when they go, unless they have another heatwave. You've got to play to survive until you get yourself in and the sun comes out and you can start to attack.

Interestingly Boof reckons that sometimes in places like Headingly you've just got to attack- the wicket is giving such assistance that they are going to get you so you may as well score runs whilst you can and hopefully put the bowlers off their lines.

Nah.
Soccer has high participation rates in Australia and New Zealand but it isn't relevant as a sport.

Can this be the making of Rohit? Save his team after being 3/10?

India could be a good sporting nation if the money goes to the right places.

That is true for most nations ..... but in general we don't have a sport culture in here.

Maj of people want to do technical jobs and earn more where physical labor isn't required like sports

Honestly I think that there are so many places that the money needs to go before it is invested in sport. Infrastructure, jobs, etc...that said, there's something about sport that galvanises a nation. It can produce huge secondary benefits if it is invested correctly.

We do not have the physique to play contact sports or even endurance sports.

Cricket is kind of a lazy sport. You do not need a super fit physique to play it. No wonder we excel in that or at least compete.

He has in the past. But it was on day 5.

Don't think reverse will be much of a factor.

The surface is relatively smooth and the outfield is lush as well, that's why I think it will be very difficult for anyone to get reverse let alone boult.

India need a leggie badly in the squad.
Off spinners and left armers can only dart it in these conditions,we need a guy who can turn it,we need a leggie.

Its rougher than it looks. Sodhi is getting it to grip.

Boult bowled a huge reverse swinging yorker to broad at this ground last season.
