LOL. If you're an emotional Pakistan fan then you'd better look away now. This does not look pretty so far. Could get worse without a wicket.

funny how bhatti is getting smacked down on here but no one criticizes joel 2.0 irfan who is bowling utter tripe and getting thrashed

every one Bhatti is garbage. but people make big deal over Irfan

Why would you give Bhatti the new ball over Adil??

Horrific captaincy and thinking from management.

We need Sarfaraz as opener. We can't be living in the 1990s. We need to understand the modern game. Our openers will take pressure and play maidens even vs UAE and Zimbabwe. It's just a defensive approach. Please play modern cricket.

Here is the collapse. Do u think people will criticise mcullum on NZ forums?
No!! What's his average?
If only we could show this intent!!!

Don't blame bowling here. It's the approach of openers batsmen. Aggresive approach to put bowlers under pressure. Our bowlers play maidens and then bowlers have no pressure.

Irfan is the most overrated player on PP, even more so than Shehzad.

Will disappoint plenty of people in this World Cup, the expectations from him are a joke. He is not remotely good enough to be match-winner and destroy lineups.

There should be no complaint towards Bhatti and Irfan. NZ only has to score 200 runs. NZ is gonna attack from the beginning putting more pressure on fast bowlers since they have no support to rely on. Defending 200 runs is not much of the support.

At 31/0 in 3 overs I think half the game is dusted so Mccullum just showing who is the boss.

Even if he get out, which he did, he has sent a message.

This was not a 200 pitch and you guys sucked!

If Pakistan was chasing 211, their approach would be like they are chasing 350. Take unnecessary pressure

You forget to add smiley :amla

Kinda have to blame them when they bowl half volleys and full tosses.

Which is why I think we should try Umar as opener.

In spite of being a glorified slogger with the IQ of Homer Simpson, he is still the most capable player to take on pace and the only one in the team who'll not be rabbit in headlights against Milne bowling at 150 kph.

Irfan needs to get his line and length right. Most of the time he tries to do too much. He has the pace and height. All he needs to do is to pitch on the right spots.

Those half volleys come to Pak openers too but PAK openers don't even have the approach to even look at hitting. Just block or leaving for first 2-3 overs. Unnecessary pressure.

bowling hasnt been great but that's what you get when you play aggressive cricket in powerplays. our players were out there practicing their leaves :ibutt

That is because of aggressive approach from openers with nothing to lose. It is good thing a wicket has been just obtained.

One more wicket and Pakistan bowlers are back on the game with confidence - more pressure current batting team presently.

Sometimes being aggressive in approach helps. Don't take pressure and play. Example: Pak vs India 2003 WC match. We scored 273, which was good at that time. India comes guns blazing no pressure and chase it down.

I hv been advocating for this all along in every post of mine

And I think you underrate him. He may not destroy lineups but he is our main threat and I can't see us winning many games against the top 8 if he doesn't perform.

I think he is a decent bowler, who is nowhere near the top bracket which I believe is a fair assessment.

Can't see him winning a match for Pakistan against any top side, unless he still has Amla bhai's number and can rattle South Africa's top order. That's the only ray of hope if anyone wants go that route.

Personally don't think so.

Bhatti is consistent around 137-135

Too few runs to defend. NZ can win this match by taking a few singles in each over.

Need to discard Younis, move Haris and Akmal up the order, get Junaid Khan in and ask the openers to play their shots.

Guptil punishing Irfan
