What's new

New Zealand v Pakistan | 1st Test | Christchurch | Nov 17-21, 2016 | Day 3

Big day today for Pakistan.

If they have another poor day they are done.

Worst case scenario they need to bowl NZ out for a maximum 200 and then wipe the lead out with the loss of 1 or 2 wickets maximum.

U guys are acting as if Australia, India, SA would have scored 300 on this track. Let me tell you guys technique of past cricketers was great. But now days batsmen are not willing to work hard or fight their way out of it. They need flat tracks to score and look good. Only players in the world right now who you can count on such wicket is Virat Kohli and Root. Pakistan batsmen must learn from Virat how to fight on difficult conditions.

But i am still confident Pakistan team will fight back today.

Amir need to start bowling well here. At the moment he is bowling a ODI match situation bowling. He is not being patient with regards to keep the bowl up and bowl tight line and length and let the pitch do the rest, because in my opinion he is little touch bowling too quick on this wicket. He needs to just bowl in the right channel and let batsmen play on the off side and misbah need to be brave and dont put extra cover fielder there.

Yeah well analysed but I still think Pak should have got 200. Too many shots played that could have been left.

NZ are in a good position and certain to take a 60/70 minimum.

If Pak restrict the lead to under 100 they will still be in it but anything over they will be done.

So apparently our batsmen need to learn their techniques from Virat Kohli.

He is bowling tight. Pace is fine. His highest yesterday was like 145 kph.

The first hour will give us an insight, regarding the match outcome.

If Pak manage to pick up 2 or 3 wkts, then anything is possible.

If NZ don't lose wkts, then Pak are in trouble and NZ would have massive advantage.

Can't remember the last time Virat fought on such difficult conditions. Always see him go missing when the going gets though.

Wicket has flattened out but will there be any cloud cover?

If NZ get above 250 then its hard to see a way back for us - will just have to hope the pitch eases out and we can bat out a draw.

NZ might be the most beautiful country in the world.

If there is heaven on Earth, it must be NZ. Some of my friends who actually visited NZ had the same opinion.

As far as the result is concerned there are three possible outcomes:

1.

Pakistan win

2.

Pakistan win

3.

Pakistan win

Nice start from SK

It was predictable that the batting would struggle if the Test match was not preceded by any warm up matches.

But the key loss was Mohammad Asif. Even if he still had his side strain, he would have returned similar figures to De Grandhomme and Pakistan would have bowled out New Zealand on the first evening and taken the lead.

I don't think Pakistan can survive in NZ and Australia without Mohammad Asif.

Amir bowling so wide of the crease it hurts to see. How does he want to bowl outswingers to the left hander by bowling like that.

Proud moment when advertisement boardings in NZ say "Ab chalay ga Pakistan" IN URDU

Here you go. NZ can also collapse the same way.

Is it just me or SK has reduced some of his bulk.. looks more athletic now..

Hope de Grandhomme isn't gonna be as big a scourge with the bat as he was with the ball. We have a habit of making instant heroes out of the unlikeliest players.

BJ has a very Sarfaraz-like vibe. He is a fighter..
