Better coaches and batting environment could have helped. I think he still does average 40+ in ODIs since his comeback in 2009-10.

He tried to push for "opening" too much. IF he'd taken others advice and allowed himself to go down the order at 5 he would've had a very good career instead of a mediocre-average one. I remember people begged him to give up on opening but he was too stubborn.

I think he is talking about umer khan. In the psl he took some of the biggest wickets of abe devilliers etc. Even in the national t20 cup he would only bowl 2 or 3 overs. Idk why he is not bowled as much.
