Frustrated. Wagner just kicked the pitch in frustration after getting hit for a 4 by Sami. Also that review from KW was from desperation. NZ still well ahead and in the driver seat but if these two can keep it up and up the tempo a bit than they'll get worried.

I think, PAK is batting very well here. This is 4th innings of a Test & batsmen are doing exactly what to save a Test. After lunch PAK has to change a bit gear, otherwise Kiwis 'll be sure that PAK is not going to chase - they'll go all-out, which might result in few quick wickets.

Any side having 50+ lead will make sure that there is not enough time left to lose; any side conceding 50 lead will kill the game by negative bowling/fielding, slow over-rate - unless there is enough time left for them to recover & force a win.

I'll stick to my original thought - only way to make Test cricket positive & entertaining (without playing on under prepared tracks) is to take draw out of equation due to lack of time. 5 Days is fine, but 98 overs/day, if not 105 ~ around 500 overs game so that teams are forced to play positively & take initiatives; defensive game won't help saving a Test with those extra 50 overs. If the game is finished inside 4 or even 3 days with 105 overs/Day; I don't mind players having a day or two of paid leave. Otherwise, couple of hours rain in first 2 days, basically 4 Day Test will become academic joke - capping 1st innings (100/110 overs) doesn't help either; this Test, without Cap, 1st innings finished inside 85 overs both times still we are likely to have a "painful" last 7 hours.......

And, I am the last man to accept your theory of 4 Day Test on green tops - because it'll kill one of the most exiting arts of the game forever - PAK dropped Yasir in this match & it was scheduled for 5 days ........ imagine matches for 4 Day duration on similar wicket - Inzi will drop Yasir even from the squad for the series ........ unfortunately, rightly so.

Already the Pink ball "Theories" are busted, hence, I am fine with Pink ball D/N Test on "Brown" wicket - only issue is, in Asia, it can't be played between OCT-MAR period in most places for heavy dew.

5 days, 7 hours/day for 100 overs without any extension unless it rains (up to 60 minutes recover next day, BUT not for slow over rate - IF OVERS ARE LOST FOR SLOW OVER-RATE : lost overs X 5 runs penalty in to sundry - I hate this extension of play, why should I lose my sleep, because some nerds takings things comfortably?). Good, firm wicket with a bit of bounce & carry, played on fast but large grounds - bring it on.
